Glaucoma can lead to blindness, but with regular eye exams and early detection, you can slow the progression of the disease and protect your vision. At Scarbrough Family Eyecare, Dr. Scarbrough and Dr. Reed are experienced in detecting and treating glaucoma. We have several new eye testing instruments that ensure your confidence in a proper diagnosis.
Cataracts are a common cause of impaired vision in people 50 and older, causing blurry, cloudy vision. Our optometrists, Dr. Scarbrough and Dr. Reed can detect and assess your cataracts. We will review the latest techniques for cataract removal, including laser-assisted and dropless procedures and help make a referral to one of our region's highly skilled cataract surgeons.
Did you know that "red eyes" can be caused by a multitude of reasons? They can be the result of bacteria, viruses, allergies, dry eyes or old contact lenses, to name a few. Only eye doctors, with proper eye examination instruments, have the ability to properly diagnose these potentially complex diseases.
At Scarbrough Family Eyecare, we have a very busy contact lens practice. Because of our volume, and excellent relationship with the major contact lens companies, our reps are very attentive to our account and readily provide us with the newest contact lens styles. For your convenience, we stock inventory of major brands of monthly and daily disposable soft contact lenses.

I am in town for work and as I was getting ready my nosepiece to my glasses fell apart so badly it couldn't be reattached. This was the only place open and I rushed down, still needing to do my makeup for work and absolutely panicking. The sweetest woman ever took the sad remains of my glasses after I told her about how rushed I was and let me sit in my car out front so I could finish getting ready for work and then she brought my glasses to me outside, beautifully repaired and cleaned.
They had makeup all over them that I didn't get a chance to clean off, I'm so sorry. I look at x ray images all day and my glasses are ESSENTIAL. She is my absolute hero for her kindness, her smiles, and for making my glasses more comfortable than they have ever been. I had tears in my eyes in relief that I wasn't going to be late for work and I could perfectly see again. Thank you, truly, thank you so very much! I am forever grateful.

I hate my glasses, I wanted lined tri-focal and was talked into progressives, I am on a computer all day and knew from past experience that progressives would not work well. After getting my glasses I went and told them they were not working and asked for them to be re-made into lined. But they wouldn't do it, they told me that if they drop the height of one of them to match my eyes better then they should work.
Well it didn't the script was wrong. So they re-made them again, And I still can't were them, I can't see distance, yet I was told my distance is good so the distance is PLANO. Why did I need to get such an expensive lenses for reading. What a waist of $900.00, So they sit in a drawer and I wear reading glasses. I will never go back there again!

Dr. Reed and his staff are professional and amazing to deal with. Always pleasant on the phone and in person. Fast and reasonable prices. No pressure to upsell glasses. They take time and we always leave smiling! They worked in our family of four at one time. Not many places that will do that! Been with them for over four years now. Don't plan on changing!

Professional, knowledgeable and efficient! I had a great annual exam with a finding I didn't expect but Dr. Scarbrough explained everything and I left feeling confident. Reception, Tech pre-exam check-in, Doctor's exam and check-out all friendly and professional! Also, great selection and friendly, knowledgeable opticians in their optical studio, Visions by the Bay.

I had a wonderful experience at Scarbrough Family Eyecare! I was able to get in fairly quick for a new patient visit and the staff was all very friendly. Dr. Reed was very thorough and kind during my exam. They had a large selection of frames to chose from and they helped me pick out what frames suited me best. My frames came in super quick and I'm very happy with them. Couldn't recommend them enough!
