Yesterday I had a quick procedure done at Sturgis Hospital. I met 4 different employees during the stay - all of which were very nice & welcoming. The service provided was great and timely. In today's world, trying to keep a hospital operational is incredibly difficult. We should be happy we have this service in our community.

I came in for a x-ray and I had my 13yr old sibling with me due to a family emergency, they would not allow him to come in the building with me and had a attitude with me saying he needs to be outside the building. Seriously he is 13 and it's cold outside. Then proceeded to treat me poorly while doing my paperwork. Not the first bad experience here and definitely not coming here again.

Went to the ER visit today and the doctor seemed in hurry. He asked me what was wrong and then replied with "it's probably covid" and left (which btw it came back negative). Didn't bother to ask following question or nothing. Also, not to mention, the nurse was giving another patient release form to sign instead of mine. They also put down that one of my reasons, I was seen was because of vomiting and nausea, and NEVER did I say I was vomiting or nausea. Do not come here. Waist of time. Dr. Saski Luke did not seem to have empathy. Do not bother to come to Sturgis hospital ER.

I tried Lagrange hospital last November with a kidney stone attack. Waited an hour for help. They were taking patience ahead of me. I left and went to Sturgis Hospital where I should have the first time. Within an hour, I had my health issue diagnosed. I have always had the best care at Sturgis Hospital and will continue to support my local hospital.

The staff was fabulous, however they did not make up for personal comfort. My bed was so terrible that they pushed a recliner in my room. The gowns were soooooo long that trying to get to the bathroom pushing an IV rack was ridiculous. The gown kept get tangled up in the IVtubes, ugh.awful experience. Hated every second. Fall asleep, time for vitals wake up. Fall asleep, wake up, time for vitals. Stay home if you can!

I went to the emergency room last Sunday with acute abdominal pain. I was greeted with caring and compassionate staff immediately. I was evaluated within minutes. Given pain medications and sent off for CAT scan. The radiology tech was also very caring. Within minutes of scan I was told I needed an appendectomy. My significant other was waiting outside in car during all this time but was kept updated. It is a very scary time but Sturgis Hospital did everything they could to make it easier.

I was there today for my cataract surgery. They were able to do my covid test today prior to the surgery. This was very helpful for me do to my work schedule. Each person I worked with was exceptional and treated me with respect. My Doctor Holicki was exceptional and professional. I am very pleased.

Seriously avoid the ER at all cost, it's a joke. It's a hit or miss when it comes to the nurses, the first time I went my nurse was the most unprofessional, rude, and honestly just mean woman. When my husband went ( they ended up transferring him to Bronson since sturgis hospital got rid of almost all it's departments it's hardly a hospital anymore ) and the nurse was very caring and actually seemed to enjoy her job and was amazing! We won't go there again, just take the extra time to drive to Kalamazoo.

I went to Sturgis Hospital twice in the last week. I had surgery 2 weeks ago in Bronson and had complications when returning home. I went into the front to be seen and taken to the back for tests since I had a mild infection that might have gotten worse. They lost a faxed order from my Bronson Dr. So we had to wait for it to be refaxed. All the waiting in the chairs caused tons of pain and all the ladies were so sweet.
They even brought up and ice pack for my son who had a bee sting on his hand. They are very understaffed and I was surprised I wasn't waiting the entire day. I've worked in the medical field and there are so many hoops to jump through that when you are understaffed it takes it's toll on the workers and they were still so nice and understanding. Second time was in the ER as I woke up in worse pain and finally decided to go in and be seen since I wasn't sure if stitches ripped, bleeding, etc.
The nurses who helped me were very sweet and understanding and cared. The Dr. I saw was a nice man who explained everything. The nurses checked on me a few times since we were there for a few hours. They gave me updates on what was taking so long and apologized for any delays. I am terrified of needles and they worked with me to get the drugs I needed in me orally instead on doing an IV.
I have never had that consideration before in any medical setting. They even listened when I said a certain medicine never worked for me and gave me the one that does help. Most Dr's argue with me saying it works for everyone. Very nice people. Understand it's an understaffed hospital and in the world of medicine it's lots of hurry up and wait as results from tests have to be checked and double checked by someone else and lots of paperwork before they can help you.

This hospital has to be the worst Hospital on this planet. Not only is it outdated it is filthy. Their web department is laughable I walk in the lobby and I immediately left on how outdated it is. Where they draw your blood was so disgusting they had mold growing on the side of their ceiling. Their customer service in the front is not very good at all. Had a family member that went to the ER not only did she not have a call light, they did not check on her for 3 hours.
If I had a dog I would not take my dog to this hospital. If it was life or death I'd rather go to ready care any day been going to this nasty Hospital. If you go you go at your own risk. Who knows what this world is easy to get coming out of this nasty place.

Completely nonprofessional. Came into the ER with an emergency; was brought to a room where a nurse asked questions who proceeded to go back out to talk to the Doctor, a few minutes past, then 5, 10, i got up as my friend was in dire-pain due to an injury. I walked out to the lobby to see what was going on; Doctor was playing a game on her phone when i walked by where she was sitting, and proceeded to tuck it back into her pocket when she saw i was watching.
Guess this place is unsupervised to say the least, oh and while in the room, i saw blood spattered on the wall, like they really don't even bother cleaning it up it's clearly visible. I doubt this post will get any recognition, but it bothered me very much, and if we were treated like this i'm sure others have been in the past. For those asking who the Doctors name was; i'm not sure, i can only say she was a female of African-American decent.
