Thanks to Jessica and Megan. Jessica was kind enough to bump my 93 yr old mothers appt up from Dec. 7th to Nov. 24th as she had emergency with sudden loss of vision in right eye and advanced cataracts. I appreciate that Megan made the extra effort to make it easier on my mom (in wherlchair) by meeting us at door to sign papers at car window so she didn't have to get out of car, transfer to wheelchair, etc. Dr. Davis examined my mother and got her emergency appt to Retina Group down the street due to urgent issue with CRAO. Excellent referral reviews from prior patients. We hope my mom's cataract surgery is successful on left eye next week. Appreciate the expedient care and thorough assessment.

I'm not sure what the issues were with the negative posts, but I'll say that my experience was nothing but stellar. Prior to my cataracts surgery on both eyes the weeks of 09.06.21 and again on 09.13.21, my last involvement with the Clinic was in 2006 when I had lens implants inserted to correct extreme near sightedness. I returned here due to the absolute success of my first experience.
From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, everything was fabulous. Kudos to the women at the counter and the prep nurses; kudos to the nurses in the pre-op room; Kudos to the folks in the OR. I didn't come here seeking bedside manner. I didn't come here for a touchy/feely experience. I came here because I knew that Dr. Davis was a professional and he did what I expected him to do. I have nothing but praise for the entire operation.

As 10 plus year patient with the optomotrists I never thought I would leave this review. But, my first and only interaction with Charles Davis was beyond awful. Notwithstanding his complete lack of bedside manner, he is rude, dismissive and carries around an ego more fragile than a Faberge egg. If you are a patient that believes that it is your right to get a second opinion, you should stay far away.
If you are a patient who believes a doctor should be able to explain courses of treatment, again stay away. If you are patient that will have questions and expect answers from your doctor before he takes a knife to your eye, stay away. This is not just my opinion. His staff appear to walk on pins and needles behind his back. One even apologized for his obvious unprofessional and unethical behavior as she walked me out after being told, "I am taking up too much of his time and I needed to get out!" Fellow ophthalmologists, have listened to my case and have completely disagreed with his course of care and behavior.
Somewhere between dousing himself with overpowering cologne, laying too long in a tanning bed and stroking his ego by telling his patients how great he is, he has forgotten what it means to be a doctor; that counseling and healing come before making money.

Dr. Shaheen is a great Optometrist and very nice to people with disabilities. I wish davis eye center would take my unitedhealthcare community plan ohio medicaid so that I can continue seeing Dr. Shaheen as my eye doctor. So please consider taking my health insurance because there not a lot of eye places that have the eye Machine Equipment read your eyes and automatically figure out your prescription.

I've always had a great experience here. I'll never forget the feeling in middle school when I walk out of the building and saw the leaves on the trees for the first time. Throughout the years the staff at Davis has been amazing to me. This is why after much thought I got my Lasik done here. It was worth every cent. The operation was smooth and painless and they do an incredible job at keeping you calm.
I have tremors and was worried this would impede my ability to get lasik but at the end of the day the operation went smooth and the only draw back is that I keep trying to adjust glasses on my face that are no longer there haha. Thank you to everyone at Davis!

I had my lasik procedure here on 12/18 and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Dr. Davis and his staff were so friendly and made me feel comfortable. The surgery was so fast and completely painless. Thanks to them, I can finally experience good vision without the need for glasses. Thank you Dr. Davis and staff!

Never going back. I was a patient there for a few years, and I dealt with the rude staff because they took my insurance. Now that my insurance changed I will be going elsewhere. When I was there in 2018 I asked for a copy of my prescription so that I could get cheaper glasses online and they were very rude and didn't give me my full prescription info, I had to go back and request the full prescription.
The glasses and frames they sell are extremely overpriced. I went in to have my overpriced glasses repaired and they yanked them out of my hand and said they will call in 2 weeks. They didn't even wait for me to put on my spare glasses before they yanked the glasses out of my hand. They never called I had to call them to get an update. An online eyeglass place called them for my prescription but didn't receive any correspondence back.

When I went in for my checkup, I arrived ten minutes early because I had new insurance and didn't want there to be any issues. It took them twenty minutes to get everything sorted with my insurance because Davis Eye Center had given me someone else's social security number at some point! Since I was then 10 minutes behind schedule they then wanted to reschedule me.
Since I had arrived early and I was having some eye problems, I asked that they still fit me in, so they went ahead with my appointment. In the weeks leading up to my appointment, I was having an issue with one of my eyelids getting inflamed, itchy, save irritated. I had tried not using my contacts for several days in a row and switching to a new pair of contacts, but the problem continued.
I tried to bring up this issue with the doctor, and he said, "your eyes are just irritated because you wear your contacts too much." I tried explaining that if anything, my contact use had gone down, and this was more than just everyday irritation, but I was ignored and dismissed. For unrelated reasons, Dr. Bischoff recommended that I purchase a $15 heating pad from the eye center to stimulate the oil glands in my eyelids.
I explained that I have multiple heating pads at home, and asked if any warm compress would do. He said "no, most compresses won't hold a steady temperature for a full 15 minutes." I explained that my heating pads are electric and maintain a steady temperature for 2 hours at a time. He stammered and said "well, this one would just be better." I can't imagine the commission on a $15 item is very high, so it was a little embarrassing to see him try so desperately to sell me an unnecessary product.
I made it clear I would not be purchasing the heating pad that day, but when I went to pay my copay, they still tried to charge me for one. In the weeks following my appointment, I followed the doctor's advice - I used a warm compress once a day and gave my eyes frequent breaks from my contacts. Surprise surprise, less than two weeks later, I woke up with an eye infection, no doubt caused by the eyelid infection that was ignored by Davis Eye Center. Dr. Bischoff has always been rude and condescending, but I had put up with it because it's a pain to find a new doctor, but after this experience I will not be returning to Davis Eye Center.
It's one thing to talk down to your patients all the time and treat them as an inconvenience; it's another thing to ignore and dismiss symptoms that end up putting your patient in more danger.

Really disappointed that this business not only allows their staff to not wear their masks properly (legit FALLING OFF) their faces and under their noses, but the woman who I checked out with had a Trump 2020 mask on. Really? As a female minority that was really appalling and unprofessional. I am definitely not going to schedule a follow up or my annual eye care with this practice.

I have never been treated with such disrespect from a trusted healthcare provider. Dr. Davis didn't listen to my concerns after he "over corrected" my eye surgery from 8 months ago, and instead spoke over me and literally shouted that in over 40,000 surgeries he has performed this only happens in 4%. Then he said "we're done" and threw his hands up and walked out. I'm waiting for my records so I can find other qualified, compassionate care.
I believe Dr. Davis is too arrogant to truly care about his patients and their outcomes. I have never experienced anything like this, it's incredibly surprising and disappointing.
