Since when is it ok to have no medical staff or receptionist in the ER? It's bad when the security guard has to radio for people to come help and there were at least 6-8 people waiting at the desk, 2 people appeared to need urgent medical attention. This is very unprofessional and is not acceptable. I gotta say, it's a little appalling to see the ER almost full and nobody here seems to be in any hurry or have a single care for people who are in tremendous pain. Just unacceptable.

So far the nursing staff has been excellent. I am speaking of the ones in maternity. Very kind and they really are doing their best to make our experience as good as possible. They really listen and they aren't pushy. But let me talk about the cafeteria and the corner cafe. The cafeteria took my fiance's order but wouldn't take mine, even though it was before closing.
I was the first person at the cafeteria in the morning because I don't have door dash or money on I card I wanted to eat here. They tried to charge me $3 for a BLT without any lettuce or tomato. 3 pieces of bacon. They wanted me to toast my own bread. Then she says she will go check for tomato, after telling me there is none in the first place. Then she starts serving everyone behind me and I walked off.
I had been hungry from the night before and I was first in line. Okay so I go to the corner cafe. They served me chicken salad. Instead of a salad with chicken on a wrap. Forgot to give me ranch. This thing tastes horrible. The recliner they give you to sleep on in maternity is uncomfortable and they kept.mentioning they have been having bed bug issues which makes me not even want to be here.
I want to being my baby home. Not a bedbug nightmare. Giving two stars instead of one because the nursing staff has been really good so far. EDIT*** the cafe sent my fiance cold chicken strips and warm milk. Called and they had it replaced in 30 mins. It was still frozen. I called back and the lady hung up on me after she denied that it could possibly be cold.
They have since messed up another order and my fiance is in tears now. She went through all the trouble to create a human being and this cafeteria staff can't create a simple meal. I'm reducing my review to one star because she hasn't been able to eat in almost 48 hours now. I'll also be notifying our insurance company of this and making proper complaints.

My sister has been in and out of this hospital for two months, The4th, 5th time we spent 8 hours in the ER before they ever got to her. On the 5th trip to SOMC THEY weregoingtoadmit her again. I said we are calling your heart Doctor in Columbus. He had her transferred. to Grant Hospital in Columbus. Now once again we are here waiting in the ER at Somc and it has been 7 hours again and they're saying it will be awhile yet. One thing or another is being told to us and we are still waiting. We know things get crazy but this is crazy.

Misdiagnosed my son for 2 months with an "sinus infection" and refused to do blood work when I asked. Took him to his pediatrician, and he was diagnosed with leukemia. Just ONE horrid experience here. Now they're cutting mental health because "they focus on healing the body, not the mind".which healing the mind IS healing the body. Completely incompetent and wouldn't trust them to examine my pet rock. Pathetic excuse for a hospital and their staff!

The receptionist shouldn't be working in a public place and if I was her boss it would've been her last day. The nurse staff were great. Everyone took their good ol time and we were the only ones there. Of course there is never a real doctor on duty just an NP. She was good but wouldn't let me see an X-ray because there was no where to privately view it and said it would be a HIPA violation if I looked at the computer she looked at. If you can go north to Columbus or South to Cincinnati don't use these SOMC clinics. Just a money scheme.
