Daniel Krontz, MD Report

Daniel Krontz, MD is the owner of Western Carolina Eye Associates and has been a part of the WCEA team for 34 years. Dr. Krontz joined Western Carolina Eye Associates in July of 1987 and has been caring for High Country residents ever since. Dr. Krontz has performed over 15,000 cataract surgeries in the High Country.

Penelope Copenhaver, OD Report

Penelope M. Copenhaver, OD joined Western Carolina Eye Associates in 2009. Dr. Copenhaver was raised in New Jersey and also has strong roots in Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Rutgers with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

I am highly disappointed with this business! The workers were RUDE and made my experience very bad. I will NOT be returning and I will be letting all my friends know about my very bad experience. HOWEVER, there was worker there that went above and beyond my expectations. Before I saw the doctor, I was taken care by Anna with the red hair. She was lovely and made my experience less miserable. She deserves a raise!

Never had an eye doctor try to nickel and dime me as much as this place, extremely unorganized, front desk people have no idea what they are doing. Tried to put everything on my health insurance (which doesnt cover vision) so it was all out of pocket. Also wanted me to come back 10 different times so they got 10 different copays for 30 second scans that could have all been done on the same day. Will be switching doctors.

I had complex problems as a result of complications from a detached retina. Dr. Creekmore spent a tremendous amount of time determining the cause and extent of the problems. She gave me a complete explanation of her findings and she gave me her opinion on a course of action. The staff was super kind and caring. Dr. Creekmore is caring and willing to spend the time needed to really understand my problems. Critically, Dr. Creekmore has the hubris to admit when she does not know something. When presented with a problem she cant solve I am confident she is not going to make matters worse. That is huge.

They always seem to have an extremely long wait time. My appointment was for 1:00 p.m. I was not taking back until 2:35. I didn't get out until 3:30. My entire afternoon was taken for a 30-minute appointment. If this only happened once I would accept it however this seems to be the norm

I had an emergency frame problem. Western Carolina Eye Associates is fantastic. They put big city eye care to shame. I am a doc and a pilot and have to have my glasses. I totally broke the left part of the frame. I called and talked to Maria, she assured me they could help. I drove over and was amazed! Full eye wear, ski goggles, everything designer and great staff. Maria was so helpful, fixed my glasses and did a great job, did not even need an adjustment when she finished.

She is very experienced and wonderful! Then Amber helped check me out. They have two ophthalmologist and three optometrists and can handle most everything! Thanks Western Carolina Eye Associates, great job!
