Great facility with courteous staff. Stephanie does a wonderful job doing MRI's- If you have questions, she answers & explains everything well and doesn't make you feel rushed.

Unless you are literally dying, I implore you to visit the second closest hospital. I had to drive my mother to the emergency room after she had cut part of her finger off, and boy would I LOVE to hear their definition of emergency. There was no one else waiting, the parking lot was empty, and somehow we were there for an HOUR AND A HALF before the doctor came in. (Wearing his mask below his nose i might add) My mother's blood had soaked through the towel she brought by this point.

He gives her a powder for her finger to stop the bleeding (which didn't work and he admitted to not knowing exactly how to use it.)The doctor leaves, and says he will be right back. Fast forward to an hour later, mother dearest and I literally start watching a movie on her phone because we've been there so long. After another hour, all we got was some gauze and a $2,500 bill in the mail, $400 of which was for "professional fees.".what professional?

Through the years, I've always received the best care and attention at HAH. Staff has been courteous, kind, thorough and well trained. So great to have their level of care without all the huge hospital hassles!

I came into the ER for dehydration and vomiting. Couldn't make it to the Va. 2 IV bags and some medicine for vomiting. I was there for 4 and half hours bc the nurse forgot to send off the blood test. 4200 dollars for this visit is beyond insane. Ripping the community off isn't a great image for a local hospital to have.

In the past five years, that I've taken family members of mine to the hospital (or they were brought in via ambulance), the service in the emergency room has been atrocious. My grandma's most recent visit was the last straw -- ER doctor didn't do a damn thing about her stroke incident, said "there's nothing we can do." Ummm, yes, there are things you can do, but you're too lazy to do it!

My issues lie exclusively on service in the ER. (No issues with the nursing staff outside of the ER, as they've always been wonderful to her. It's only because of them and their dedicated care inside the hospital as to why I did not rate this 1-star.) Next time a family member of mine has to go to the ER, I'll make sure it will never be to this hospital or Pana Community Hospital. My grandma and/or uncle will be going to HSHS St. Francis or Taylorville Memorial, both of which have far better service in the ER.

Poor staff ER Dr's took 9 hrs for a room. Poor nursing staff more interest in EMT photos and not registering teen patient with broken hand. Diagnosed incorrectly sent home with colon bleeding. Told to report to Dr in Springfield in two weeks. Went to St louis next day had emergency colonoscopy was told top con had no blood supply it was dying. Told if I waited 2 weeks as hillsboro we told me I would have been dead. Hillsboro hospital is a bandage only hospital use great caution with them. Team rehab is wonderful. Great knowledgeable staff.

Not that I would recommend anyone go to the ER, but IF the occasion presents it's self I would highly recommend staying local and going to Hillsboro Area Hospital. They are extremely polite, and provide fantastic care without having to wait hours to be seen.
