Visit to the ER today with my husband. Dirty, dated and generally nasty. The nursing staff was stressed. The doctors were condescending, rude and dismissive. In 20 years my husband has been to an ER twice, today and 6 months ago when he was having a heart attack. We do not use the ER other than emergencies. NEVER AGAIN at Flagler!

I went into early labor on May 23rd and at the last minute chose to deliver at this hospital. One of the best decisions I ever made. They attended to me quickly and made me feel comfortable and at ease. I wish I wrote down the names of all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff to thank them personally for helping me deliver my healthy baby boy. God is good!

This is the absolute worst hospital I've ever been admitted to, I was discharged yesterday, then had to come back in today because the prescription I was supposed to get was not in yet. I needed the medicine so I didn't have to come back here. Yesterday I had a great experience, however today the nurses and care technicians have continuously ignored my calls for assistance as well as my necessities as a patient.
It is completely outrageous to be treated like this as a patient and I recommend anyone considering going to Flagler hospital to make the drive to Jacksonville and go to one there.

Let's start with the good. Nursing staff was great for delivery. In fact the nurses were amazing. The bad we spent three days trying to get discharged. Not a doctor on the post pardum floor would come see us. They stopped bringing us water. We just sat here for days. They say their too busy. Find yourself a hospital that has time for you and your loved ones.

My uncle took a fall and got hurt, he was taken to Flagler hospital where he's been for 5 days now, receiving excellent care. All nurses have been tending to his wounds, specialists have assessed him by taking blood tests, stress tests and now they're giving him some PT to strengthen back up after his fall. They have been in contact with me every day informing me about the progress, actions they were taking and results of all tests.
I remember Olivia and Samantha but all nurses on the 7th floor have been excellent and kind to him. Rachel the discharge manager set up an in home care plan and transport to his assisted living. It has been a confusing time for my uncle but with the hospitals excellent care he's always felt safe and in good hands. Amazing experience in challenging times.
Ten stars if I could, thank you all so much! Update: my uncle has been doing very well after he was moved to his assisted living by a young man who was so very caring. His recovery has been swift and he's up and going with the excellent home care the hospital has set up for him. Again, even after he left the hospital the actions of the hospital staff have been excellent.

I had to go to the ER this morning for a knee injury. For the most part, the nurses, x-ray tech the admissions clerk was all very nice and professional. I wish I could give them 5 stars alone. The old man checking bags etc. Was not only a jerk but also he picked and chose who he wanted to enforce the masks on. He was a mask warden to some and didn't say anything to others. The doctor had about as much personality as a rubber snake. Had no bedside manner. Totally a jerk!

My husband and I came for a weekend with the kids in St. Augustine, the very first night he had a gallbladder attack! After hours of him being in torment we decided to go to the hospital. I have never seen such caring people from the moment I walked in with not only my crippled husband but two small children all by myself so far from home, they took such good care of him from the emergency department to the surgeon and doctor and the nurses were amazing as-well.
I was even able to still tour all of st Augustine with my kids and go check on him in the mornings and evenings as the hospital is close to everything! I will forever be thankful to every person that we came into contact at Flagler hospital!

In the last 90 days, I have two incidents where I had to go to the Flagler Hospital emergency room - one was for me and the other for my 87 year old mother. In both cases, the service and care provided was exception and I'm extremely grateful. In late November when I visited in extreme pain, the ER was empty and I was taken immediately, diagnosed and relieved of my pain within an hour.
Everyone that I came into contact with was extremely compassionate and professional. In January, I brought my Mom to the Flagler ER. She too was in extreme pain and concerned about a dire prognosis. The ER was very crowded and I was worried about her safety. Once again, the ER staff was compassionate and professional. Mom was seen, diagnosed and given referral instructions for specialist care.
We left with her pain manageable and a plan in place to take care of her needs. Thank you to the Flagler Hospital team - you have had to deal with so much since the pandemic began, yet you still provide incredible care and compassion and it is much appreciated. You are the best!

If I could give no stars I would. I don't know how to describe the massive ineptitude I encountered at this hospital. While the majority of the staff were more polite than usual and the surgical team were excellent I cannot recommend this hospital. The nursing staff reminded me of a bunch of keystone cops. I am not going to share all of the details because I will get angry all over again. If at all possible I will never use this hospital again. I really hate giving negative reviews.

My husband spent 5 days there. He had to ask for everything from water to his medications. Nothing was brought voluntarily. He had to ask for a clean gown, sheets was never changed nor the floors ever swept in the room. I would come in to visit and paper would be littered all over the floor. He would have no water, I would have to bring him something to drink.
The nurses acted like you were bothering them if you asked for anything. I'm sorry for anyone that has to spend days in there like he did that dont have anyone to bring them things. We have been in other hospitals that would give you a kit with different things in them (toothbrush, toothpaste, bodywash), not even a box of tissues at this place, I would grab him some paper towels and toilet paper from the bathroom, which is pretty sad considering how much the insurance is charged. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

Horrible hospital. I got there at 11pm - stayed "waiting my turn" until 4:30am. & STILL HADN'T BEEN SEEN. They'd insist in next, then 2-3hrs would go by. They don't check on you. Just sit you there and tell you to wait. I'm pregnant and was having intense pain in my lower region and back, still was not a priority. Worst hospital I've been to by far, and that's sad. Only rating one star because I can't give it a zero.

I went to Urgent Care last night for an injury I sustained at work. I was worried that maybe I had cracked a rib. My pain was located front left side, a little left of my heart. But the Doctor wouldn't know that, because he didn't even ask where I was having pain. He walked in, poked at my back for maybe two seconds, then sent me to xray. Is it standard for a Doctor to not even do a basic exam anymore?
I understand they can be busy, but to not even to check my heart or breathing when I'm in agony every time I take a breath, sniffle, and deep breaths feel like I'm getting stabbed. I felt very dismissed. On a side note, I don't know if it was regarding myself, but I could blatantly hear a Doctor on the phone with Radiology, arguing about a chest xray and saying "She just wants to get out of work" I used to love Flagler Hospital, but now it just feels like I'm a hinderance when I go there because I need help.

Brought my daughter here because she was burning up. We are from Texas and are here visiting family. She has 103.2 and was not feeling well. They brought down her fever and kept us comfortable during our stay. If I ever need to come back, I wouldn't hesitate. You guys were awesome and a relief during my stressful time.

I had a mammogram there, they told me, they would not notify the doctor of the results only me. it was abnormal and they said they wouldn't notify the doctor. And- it was my responsibility to notify the doctor. I talked to my physicians, she said that is not true, they should have notified her of the results. My recommendation, if you have a need of radiology outpt, don't go there. I also called them and left a message asking for a call back to make sure the hospital was aware and I never received a call back from anyone.

I had surgery here in July 2021 and on the day of my surgery, I got a call that my dad had COVID and was being admitted (he was in VA) I was scared and freaking out and worried about my dad and suddenly not prepared for surgery on myself. The nurses were amazing! They listened to me and calmed me they reassured me and they were there for me. My dad is my everything and I was tearing up going into surgery so scared for him and they did such an amazing job being there for me. My surgery went fantastic and after several weeks my dad was OK long story short they were a amazing.

Terrible patient services might be a little strong, really bad patient services on the weak side. I called a non-narcotic prescription into my pharmacy and was told Flagler's Dr Batenhorst denied the refill and wanted "The Pharmacy" to tell me to call his office for an appointment. Why the Drs office didn't call me I can not say. I called and asked for Dr Batenhorst's office and was greeted with "can I help you" at least 4 maybe 5 times, each of which I asked for Dr Batenhorst's office before being told that I was speaking to Dr Batenhorst office. (Kind of a Who's on first" experience) when I asked why I was not told that I had contacted Dr Batenhorst's office no explanation, but the idea was that if Dr Batenhorst ran me over with his 2022 Mercedes he would not know me from Adam.
My condition is not particularly painful and the medication is not sleep inducing however, the medication I had been prescribed is important to a good nights sleep. Properly handled the Drs office would have called me, scheduled and appointment and allowed me adequate medication to hold me over until the appointment. At over 65 with 3 or 4 days without much sleep I was in no mood for the "Flagler Treatment".
To top things off when the prescription was called in their was no request to promptly fill it, no Flagler folks care if patient goes w/o sleep. Hopefully I'll be allowed to pay for and receive the medication today. I plan to use this time to find a new Doctor. Maybe even one that know who I am. To Flagler I am a billing code at best.

My husband had to go to Flagler ER in August 2021 for an infected abscess. He had a CT scan done and the findings were different than what the ER doctor wrote. While in the ER exam room, the floor had dirt and grime in the corners and the walls dirty. Two days later my husband went to Baptist South ER because of the swelling and extreme pain. Within an hour of being in the exam room, a surgeon consulted him and took him in for surgery.
My husband had chest pain about 2 weeks ago and instead of going to Flagler, made the trip to Baptist South, even though we live in St. Augustine. We will not go back to Flagler.

Not helpful for mental crisis. doctors & nurses lack sympathy. don't go here if you're having a mental crisis, they leave you completely unattended and bombard you with very triggering questions, and get frustrated when you can't answer them because you're having a literal crisis. please do better flagler. this was my first and last time coming. please give your staff at the front desk a raise though. very helpful and kind, knew how to help and direct me.

Arrived in emergency Monday afternoon due to my 83 year old husband's lightheadedness. We were advised a 2 hour wait to see someone. After 3 hours, finally saw a nurse. Doctor & PA decided to run tests and keep him overnight. They finally found a hospital room for him at 3 AM! The next day, We saw no one until 12 noon when our own cardiologist came in to see him.
Our cardiologist said all test came in negative; we could go home. The nurse on her floor was advised. from 1230 until 4 o'clock, we kept requesting discharge papers. She said she sent several texts to Dr. Griffin for our release. Dr griffin finally arrived around 4 pm. He said never received text/notifications from nurse. Someone lying! Stayed about two minutes and said he would release my husband; said been busy all day other releasing patients.
Why would they have medical doctors going around releasing patients he doesn't even see or know anything about. I think this is something a PA or nurse could've handled. I would hate to really be sick in this hospital.

First, the wait was horrible. Greater than 1 hour. After I checked in I sat for about 45 minutes and then got into a long line to ask a question. There was really no room in the foyer so I tried to squeeze against a table as much as I could. One of the men that assisted people with wheel chairs gave me a dirty look and rudely and loudly told me I had already checked in and needed to take a seat.
I informed him I had been waiting and was in line to ask a question. He told me I could not stand there and pointed to a far wall saying I would need to stand against the wall. I said no one will see me there. He just shrugged his shoulders! I said perhaps I should just leave and he said okay. Very non-caring, unprofessional and out of line. Guess I will never know how long I would have sat there.
After a painful and sleepless night I called the ER the next morning to ask about the wait. The person on the phone said "same as last night, nothing has cleared out." Wow. Such compassion!

I was in Flagler hospital twice. both times for emergency situations. First time I had a terrible doctor who got angry and left my room. I had to leave that day to feed my cat. They were no accomodating for different situations. I went there the second day, hoping to get a different doctor. Got admitted, transferred to a hospital floor. I had a perforated appendix, my heart rate was very high.
The surgeon came and said that I may not need an operation, but the cardiologist has to examine me. I've got 3 Ivs, in my left hand, and on the third day something went wrong, my hand got badly swollen. Iv's were removed from my hand and transferred to the right hand. The cardiologist took me to the testing table without explaining in simple language procedure. Fortunately, the testing was positive, but I asked for a medication to reduce the high heart rate. they told me that all needed medications will be provided. that was not done. when I came back to my room, the surgeon as gone home, and I decided to leave the hospital ahead of time. I left the message for a surgeon but he never called back. I will never go back there. they do business their own way and will not attempt to adjust to specific situations.

Flagler Hospital has treated my mother so well in the past. We came today on the recommendation of her doctor. She has fallen 4 times in the last 5 days and he wanted them to check her out and maybe admit her for observation. She had a small cut and bruising on her right arm. He patched that up and discharged her. We waited an hour after the nurse told us she was discharged and we disagreed for him to come back somewhat agitated and loud.
He eventually ordered blood work, urinalysis and somewhat later a CT scan of her brain. So eventually the right thing but much disconnect between patient, nurse and doctor. I'm sure he's very good but communication broke down here tonight.

Big shout-out to the security team at Flagler hospital for being the biggest group of window-licking morons around. I was told they're not accepting visitors to mitigate covid. So I can't see my wife who just got out of surgery and is spending the night alone because I might get someone sick because I might be "asymptomatic" well guess what idiots?
We were sleeping in the same bed 10 hours ago so if I have it she has it too and your feeble attempt to keep the virus out has already failed. Not to mention I found out any information from my wife instead of the hospital.

My wife and I recently had our first child here. This is being written during the time of COVID-19, My wife had a scheduled c-section on Monday and the baby had to go to the NICU. They are only allowing one parent at a time in the NICU so I had to wheel my wife into the NICU and leave her with her baby who was hooked up to all sorts of instruments and she almost had a mental breakdown because I couldn't be there to comfort her.
I guess my question to this is. if I as the father am allowed to come into the NICU then walk outside wheel my wife in and leave is it that much different to have both of us in here? My wife is also a type 1 diabetic and I bet I had to tell every nurse and doctor in the hospital for them to understand so the first night her sugars were high and they claimed they could not give her the amount of insulin she needed.
Then the OBGYN doctor came to visit her and we brought this concern up and he stated that she could maintain her own diabetes only for a nurse to come in a few hours later and say that it was against hospital policy. Once again my question here is, does anyone know what's going on at this place? My child was born on a Monday and on Wed. The charge nurse in postpartum stated that we could nest in the hospital until the baby could leave the NICU on Thursday morning the nurse, kind of coldly, said we couldn't nest here and we would have to leave the hospital with our baby in the NICU.
But once again because of COVID if I bring my wife to see the baby I have to wait outside the hospital for her before I can go in and see the baby because once again that makes so much sense. The post partum room was small and the food was aweful, my wife is diabetic and they would bring her maple syrup with breakfast if that makes sense. Overall I believe the nurses try but they are hamstrung by bad policies written by people that are trying to take you and your insurance. An update: My wife and I got tired of the emotional roller coaster of if we were staying or not in the hospital so we decided to go home.
The next day I try to drop my wife off at the NICU and the security guard won't let me in to see the baby for a minute but he walks in there with no mask on. So it would appear that I am not allowed to see my child but the person who greets every patient in the hospital can walk into the NICU with no mask on. I am glad to see this hospital has its priorities straight.

I've used this pharmacy for many years; long before it became a branch of Publix. I've never had a single issue or complications with their services. They always have the means to fill my prescriptions (never been out of stock), and within a very reasonable wait time. They are a pharmacy with integrity, and not involved with any shady prescriptions or physicians.
The staff is always friendly, patient and very helpful. If communication is needed with the prescribing doctor, they do their best to get the necessary doc to solve issues. I would recommend this pharmacy to anyone.

Be very careful what you believe about marketing. A pleasant picture is no substitute for ER nursing certification, skills, experience, and ethics. While there may be some solid nurses and doctors in the mix, the leadership is void of peer review and the employee empowerment required to foster excellence. Physicians have condoned scope of practice violations, and nurses without the required background and know-how are in charge.
In addition, administration has a running history of sustaining the boarding problem(holding admitted patients for 12-36 hours in the ER). Know your patient rights and responsibilities, and be sure to expect all personnel to advocate for you--the patient.

On 10/25/2018 I had spinal fusion surgery at Flagler Hospital St Augustine. A few months ago I received an invoice from Remote Neuromonitoring Physicians PC as the insurance claim was denied as "out of network". I had never heard of this provider until receiving the invoice. It turns out that while in was in Pre-Op someone introduced themselves as the person that would be monitoring my brain waves.
I was not advised of this function prior to surgery and had no time to ask many questions especially if they were in my insurance network. It is incredulous that an out of network provider would be chosen for me. Even if they are the only provider available as the patient I should have had the option to accept of decline their service. At this point I am obligated for a large bill that I'm sure that Flagler Hospital doesn't give a hoot about! The best I can do is make these reviews to warn other people.

In all honesty, this hospital treated my father atrociously. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer and I feel his treatment with these people accelerated his death. I understand Stage 4 Cancer is difficult to cure and treat, however I had numerous clashes with staff here, his iPhone was stolen at one point, the least of my concerns at that time, the nurses during the night shift were not attentive and felt pumping him full of anti-psychotic drugs (Haldol) was a solution to him frequently needing to use the bathroom.
I would go as far as saying the hospital is completely corrupt and profits on the failing of your loved ones health. I would urge anyone to stay as far away as possible from this place and find a hospital with a better reputation. Do your research before choosing a doctor, especially a primary doctor, and hospital. Good luck.

Also learned about all the outpatient services! Super fast and easy. I had to have a few things done and I was in and out within two hours and that's probably because I stopped at the cafeteria to grab something to eat after a blood draw. Flagler Hospital reminds me of a great auto repair. A one stop shop! Having recently moved up from Miami, it's heaven not to have to drive to 2, 3 places to get labs, x-rays, etc.

Spent 6 hrs in the ER recently. a bit long for someone who doesn't frequent doctors much less hospitals. My ER doc was knowledgeable & with an engaging personality, had a good vibe. The petite ER RN was demanding, ;her way or the highway. The person doing the blood draw was stellar. kudos to her! Facilities and tech were a bit less than state-of-the-art, but good overall. Easy access, ample parking, no waiting in the foyer. Is choose Flagler again, should I need such services.

I LOVE Flagler Hospital and the staff! On November 30, 2015 I got my gastric bypass here by Dr. Marema! He's the best! I'm not just saying that because I survived, it was everything before hand that made me choose him as my surgeon. He will make you feel comfortable and build a solid Dr/patient relationship before and after your surgery.
I was in and out in 24 hours and it's almost miraculous. All of my nurses and the helping staff were amazing. I never had long waits or any frustration and I didn't even want to check out of the hospital. I'd give it 10 stars if it was possible. Happy Yelping.
