Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Balassiano was mostly negative. Initially, I wanted to see another OB at this clinic, but Dr. Balassiano had an earlier opening, so I took it. This should have been a red flag to me that she had so much more availability. Dr. Balassiano was chronically late, sometimes an hour late, even when I was told to come in right away to check on concerning symptoms.
This situation was extremely stressful as a result and I don't think anyone involved was appropriately apologetic. In addition, I had multiple negative encounters with her regarding my weight. Yes, it's relevant to discuss weight as a health concern, but the way she handled it made me feel shamed and disrespected. I would not recommend her to any patients who have body issues, particularly while pregnant.
I eventually switched to Dr. Amy Teng, who was significantly more empathetic and prompt. She eventually delivered my baby and handled all my postpartum care, including catching some concerning symptoms right away. Definitely a better doctor for me.

This rating is for the business itself rather than the OB, who I had no issues with. I only found out that any procedures at the hospital would not be covered by my insurance, so I had to scramble to find a new OB for a time-sensitive procedure. They refused to refer me to another provider. I just wonder why they took me on as a patient if they knew my insurance wouldn't be accepted. Also, the nurse/medical assistant who attended to me kept on calling me by the wrong name, even after I corrected them. 3 times in one appointment.
This was in addition to a general feeling of inattentiveness. Overall I did not feel looked after by this practice at a vulnerable time, and I'm glad to have found better care elsewhere.

I had an appointment and waited for it for about 3 weeks. appointment was for 8:30am, two days before my appointment they called me and asked to reschedule to 2:40pm without any apology. I said okay. I had televisit appointment and I was ready on time for my appointment. Doctor didn't showed up till 3pm. I had to call to office and ask what's going on. they told me doctor is running late and looks like they didn't see it necessary to notify me.
I asked well when I can have my appointment?! First she said later. I asked can you be more specific about time? I mean I work too I understand we all busy. But I need to know what time. Then she said 3:30pm. At 3:30pm I'm again on televisit. Doctor didn't showed up for about 15 minutes. I had to call again because my lunch time + break time running out.
I can't spent whole day on the hold. The Lady on the phone put me on the hold for a few minutes then came back and told me 10 more minutes. I told her sorry I can't wait anymore. I have things to do. Then she asked if I want to cancel or reschedule. So I told her let's cancel for now I'll call to reschedule. Then I said I assume I won't be charged for not getting my appointment.
Then she said well since you didn't get your appointment you won't get charged for it, but we do have a policy if patient cancels an appointment same day there's a charge. Like really? I had to wait 1,5 hour and when I couldn't wait any longer and left, then you will charge me for it?! I told ok I'm not canceling I just can't wait anymore.
Can you just write that doctor didn't showed up on time and was late for more than an hour and patient left?! Then she said "But it's false! Doctor just behind her schedule". Then she started yelling at me and arguing with me when I said it's not fair to charge me because doctor didn't show up. When I tried to explain that it's not nice she were keep interrupting me and yelling.
She put me on the hold and in that moment I had to go back to my work. I put AirPods so I could hear her. She came back and said ok Doctor can talk with you right now. I said I can't anymore it's too late I was working. Then she put me on a hold for 6 minutes. I got disconnected. So I called back, 3 times, they didn't pick up the phone.
In forth time another lady picked up and said the lady I talked with is busy and she rescheduled me. This is the worse experience I ever had. They do not respect your time and saying they will charge you anyway because you couldn't wait anymore even if you have been waiting for more than an hour?!

This place is very unfair to new fathers. I agree gynecologists are for women but having a baby is an experience for both the parents, it's a journey for both the parents to go through equally. Throughout the 9 months, I wasn't allowed to go in to talk to the doctors, I had questions and concerns too! I understand Covid is a concern but am fully vaccinated and test negative every week, but they still won't let me in. Oh Yeah, but when it comes to payments then they want to talk to me! I would highly not recommend this place if the fathers want to be part of the journey.

They took $2500 of my money for a procedure that not only didn't work, it burned me. When I called to tell them that it didn't work, their response was "you signed the consent form and we won't be refunding you but can offer you another free session". Seriously? What healthcare group does that? I was NEVER a candidate for this procedure after speaking with my OBGYN. I consider this FRAUD. Do not go there.

I am so thankful I found this place when I was pregnant with my first baby! I felt so supported by Dr. Gupta and the rest of the team there throughout the entire process. Lots of patience with my questions. Most importantly, I felt very comfortable being in her care during the delivery of my son (which was tricky at times).

I love Nurse Barb Dehn, she is right on with current information about women's menopausal needs. I have been working with this group for several years now and everyone is super helpful, gets back to you with an answer within the work day, and always pleasant on the phone and in person. Would highly recommend this Group.

I dont recommend this place and group of doctors to anyone who I know and care for. This is more of place for business, than caring for ppl. Only Dr. Azad is caring, but probably more caring by comforting you through her words. you need OBGYN to be with you, when things get complicated during pregnancy / delivery. they were not there for me. I am very sorry for myself that I did trust them. i was also referred to their therapist, after delivery. the person who you cannot find in forty five days and after your appointment finally reaches, they call to reschedule! this is not professional, when keep repeating.

Dr. Azad was really great! She spent time with me and addressed all my naive first pregnancy questions very patiently. She's very knowledgable and great at explaining things. I highly recommend her! The staff was also really organized and the whole process of setting up as a new patient was streamlined.

The doctors are top notch and staff are lovely people but the processes have a LOT of room for improvement. - No clear or meaningful after-visit summaries, so patients should make it a point to take notes, if you are able to follow everything - I had a surgery earlier in June where the office gave me the wrong address for the surgery and never took accountability for it.
I was already stressed out about the surgery and the extra driving time added to the anxiety. I am disappointed that no one reached out to me to apologize or check in on me. The lack of clear tracking of paperwork and accountability/empathy seems to be a recurring experience for me here so far. - The visits and actual time with a doctor can sometimes feel really rushed and not thorough during in-person visits. Waiting time is long!
I would encourage the hospital to consider being more thoughtful about patients and making a policy to have a minimum duration of 20 minutes between patient and doctor - Disability paperwork takes around 2 weeks or more of processing time so patients should plan accordingly to avoid missing out on benefits

This is my fourth pregnancy with El Camino Women's Medical Group. My doctor is Dr Azad but I had some appointments with Dr Teng and Dr Balasiano. The whole team are great and caring. My experience so far is great. The team gives you all the time and attention you need. They listen to my concerns and answer my questions. I love their smiles. I highly recommend them.

I delivered my first child here. It was the worst experience of my life. I am thinking about filing an official complaint. I had an emergency C-section because the anesthesiologist did a horrible job administering my epidural. This led to me having a spinal leakage. The doctors/nurses didn't figure this out until the fourth day at the hospital. Everyday when they asked about my pain level I told them about my headache and no one said anything about the possibility of a spinal leakage!
When the anesthesiologist on-call listened to my explanation and asked me to test to make sure it was a spinal leakage, which was very simple: to lay flat on my back, he was reluctant to provide care. It took them another day to have someone apply the blood patch. Imagine the hardship of having a day old child and one of the worst headaches of your life! At the end, there were no apologies.

If you're looking for an incredibly welcoming, supportive, and thorough OB/GYN clinic, this is the one for you! The entire medical staff are friendly and quick to help! They follow all updated COVID-19 precautions as well. In my visits with Dr. Azad, Dr. Teng, and NP Barb Dehn, I have felt taken care of and that all my concerns were addressed and answered.
In the 2 years that I've been seen by the El Camino Women's Team, I don't have any complaints. Wonderful staff and the clinic itself is always clean and orderly.

I came here to confirm my pregnancy and a follow-up visit, then I decided to go with someone else. I was not happy with their nurse trying to perform not necessary pap smear without my consent. (She just said, "I'm going to do a pelvic exam.") I was able to ask clarify questions and decline before she perform the exam. And I wasn't too impressed with the doctor I saw, Dr. Gupta.
She seemed very busy and didn't seem to want to know more about me. So I decided to cancel my future appointments and went to another practice. 4 months later, while I was at week 36, they called me and asked me if I found another OB, I said yes. Another 4 months went by, I got a bill from them. Apparently the second visit was declined by my insurance stating that they bill the insurance too late so it's now my responsibility.
This office did not pay attention on their pregant patient for the entire pregnancy and assumed the patient was still theirs to deliver. When the patient chose to go with other practice, It's patient's responsibility that they didn't bill insurance for the visit in time. I would avoid this place. The doctors seems too busy to pay attention to their patients.

Dr Azad and her team are excellent. She thoroughly explains things and is patient enough to see if I have questions. She and her team make me feel confident in my choices as a woman and have restored my trust in the medical community. She safely delivered two of my babies. The entire team is professional yet personable and compliment the physicians here. Thank you Dr. Azad and team. I highly recommend them to any woman looking into a doctor for women's health, prenatal and postpartum care.

Kristy moved my appointment, never told me, and was indignant when I called in confused about why I couldn't log in. No apology, no empathy - and I was told that if I couldn't rearrange my schedule to make one specific time, I'd have to wait at least another month. Keep in mind, my appointment had already been pushed back a month because the doctor couldn't make our last scheduled appointment! Just terrible customer service. I've never seen anything like it. PS From reading other reviews. seems like I'm not the only one.

Unfortunately I never got to meet with Dr. Balassiano. In February 2020, I called to make an appointment as a new patient and the first impression was not that great. The receptionist was not very friendly and appeared too busy to talk to me, even putting me on hold several times. Once I finally made the appointment, I was told I would receive an email link to setup an online profile to prepare for my upcoming appointment.
I had to call back because the email never arrived. When I finally got through, after calling several times, I was placed on hold for over 25 minutes. Then COVID came and the dr.'s office called to reschedule my appointment. No problem, I was happy to reschedule and glad they were proactive. Fast forward til today when I was supposed to have my new appointment, but when I arrived I was told my appointment had been cancelled. Shocked and confused I inquired with the receptionist and was told that she would look into it for me to go ahead and fill out the paperwork.
Once I filled out my paperwork, I was then told by the receptionist that I must have "accidentally" cancelled the appointment and sorry but no doctors available today. I stated that I had taken the day off work for this appointment and immediately pulled out my phone and showed her where the office had robocalled me several times a couple days earlier reminding me of my appointment: 11:08a, 11:29a, 11:50a, 11:57a, & 12:18p stating that I wasn't able to answer until the next call that came in at 12:39p.
It was an automated call reminding me of my appointment. I listened and hung up because there was no action to be taken because I was not changing or canceling my appointment. I never got a cancelation notice so not sure why I would think my appointment was cancelled! Needless to say this has been very frustrating and what I feel should have be considered was perhaps their software or app might have a glitch because the amount of calls that came in as stated above leads me to believe there is a bigger issue.

Best Experience! I am happy that we selected this practice for our baby! All the doctor's and the staff here are very supportive. Dr. Azad is very nice, most of my appointments were with her. I use to be excited for my appointments with her, and she always have us enough time to answer our questions. My delivery was done by Dr. Gupta and it was very smooth, she made it very comfortable for me. Highly recommend!

Amazing! I recently switched OB's and I chose Dr. Balassiano! Best decision I've made. She is amazing and so welcoming. She took the time to get to know me and we simply hit it off and this made this first appointment so easy. I was worried about the switch but Erika made it so easy and made me feel like she is truly there because she loves what she does.
Big shout out to El Camino Women's Medical Group in Mountain View. They were all so sweet and answered any questions I had. They also provided me with a list of over the counter medicines I could have and other paperwork that Erika provided me with.

We had a bad experience at this clinic. There was a 1 month wait for our first OBGYN appointment and we went on time. However the staff at the clinic turned us away saying we were supposed to be 30min early to fill a couple forms and that they left a voice message. We didn't receive any such voice message or call. They wanted us to reschedule to a different day after waiting for a month.

Dr. Erika Balassiano its a great doctor and very knowledgeable! We were trying to have a baby for almost a two years and our first visit with Dr. Balassiano was in July/2016 from that point she was with us very step of the way. She recommended for my wife to do an Endometriosis surgery, and sure enough after that, my wife was able to get pregnant.
In Oct.2017 we had our first baby boy, couldn't be more happier! We have seen a lot of doctors in our life but we haven't met anyone as nice, sweet, caring, genuine and professional than Dr. Balassiano! For all the woman out there, who are looking for OBGYN doctor or they are looking to get pregnant, go and see her, hopefully she still accepts new patient? Dr, Balassiano works in OBGYN clinic in Mountain View and she also has an office in West San Jose. Thank you Dr, Balassiano!

I was seen recently for a well woman exam and was impressed by this doctor's bedside manner and overall staff's professionalism. I have been to 3 different OBGYN's and hope that I can stay here for the long haul. My first OBGYN moved away and of course, I loved her! The last OBGYN was not warm and did not remember any medical history info at any visits.
I was impressed that I was taken to Dr Balassiano's personal office to discuss my health and questions and she had already reviewed my health history. She was sincere and listened. She is young and I'm sure up with the latest technology. She was knowledgeable on all matters. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the office as well. This is very important to me as I work in the health care profession.
There were single use packets of lubricant, correct sani wipes that are "germicidal" (very important for medical/dental as you're dealing with bodily fluids), speculum was disposed in special can with biohazard sign on it, I'm sure sent to sterilization following. Rooms were clean. My last OBGYN used Lysol wipes that you can buy at target to wipe vaginal ultrasound equipment and countertops, exam table, etc. Not good! I would recommend this office. So far I'm impressed. It's hard to find a truly caring doctor and she seems to be genuinely a good doctor.

Professional doctor and friendly office staff! The doctor gave us a proper treatment plan and she made me very comfortable throughout the treatment and procedures. The office staff was very friendly and helpful based on my experience with other doctor offices in the Bay Area. I strongly recommend this place.

I highly recommend dr Erika, very kind and lot of patience with my wife. Also, the staff is very considerate and we felt really welcome. We noticed that everyone is treated with high consideration. Even if we would move from MV, we would come and visit this office! Great team here makes the difference!
