At Ashburn Sterling Internal Medicine & Pediatrics we participate with most insurance plans. We recommend you call your insurance provider to make sure our office is IN-NETWORK with your insurance. If your insurance plan requires you to select a Primary Care Physician please do so before your visit.
FollowMyHealth is a FREE online patient portal that provides anywhere, anytime access to your personal health records, and enables you to take a proactive role in managing your care. FollowMyHealth is used by tens of thousands of physicians as the "power" behind their hospital or clinic's specific patient portal.
We now offer online submissions of referral requests. Some insurance plans require a referral to see a specialist. In order for us to give you a referral to a specialist you will need to be seen by one our providers first. If the request is received after hours, it will not start until the next business day. If sufficient notice is not given to our front desk then your specialist appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Wow. Could not have had a worse experience. Check out the other low reviews on Yelp. My son needed to verify his hepatitis vaccine status for school. He also needed to test for TB. It took months of asking to finally get an order for the two tests. There were multiple codes ordered by the PA but we thought they must all be part of the vaccine status test.
He even called to ask if they were all necessary and they said they were. We did not check what tests the codes were for. My son asked if he could do the tests at Labcorp because we generally prefer there. The receptionist said the tests had to be done at Quest. He went to Quest and they said the codes the PA had ordered were actually for Labcorp.
She changed the codes and ran the tests anyway. As it turned out, he only needed one specific test with one code to check for Hep B vaccine status, not 3 or 4. The PA had ordered other tests that he did not need including tests to check if he had hepatitis currently and if he had ever had hepatitis. He did not need those additional tests run and we never asked for them.
We found out much later that none of them were covered by insurance. He called the doctor's office and told them that Quest had changed the tests to different codes. The person he spoke to said that he needed to have the tests redone at Labcorp. We do not know if she checked with the doctor before telling him that or not. That person is apparently no longer at the practice.
He then went to Labcorp and had all of the tests redone other than the TB test. Those were not covered by insurance either but we didn't know that at the time. Now we have two bills totaling about $600 for hepatitis tests and it should have just been $74. This was a simple request for a test that they made an absolute expensive, aggravating mess of.
Since then, we have called the office many times and emailed twice to two different email addresses that they gave in order to complain. We feel they should bear some of the cost. They claim they never received the emails. Each time we call, all we get is a run around. Either they tell us the office manager, Jane, isn't in and will call back, but she doesn't, or we reach her and then she says she will call us right back and doesn't. This is no way to run a doctor's office in my opinion. Could not be more rude or disrespectful of our time and money.

My husband, children and I have been patient's for about 4 years now. The front desk staff are always welcoming and helpful, and the phlebotomist is the best at giving shots with no discomfort. Kelly Boardman really listens, she's relatable, thorough and has treated us with great care. I would highly recommend Ashburn Sterling Internal Medicine and Pediatrics to anyone!

I was in search of a new Primary Care doctor after my previous one closed shop. My search was very short, as I found Dr. Abedin and the Ashburn Sterling Internal Medicine practice. The staff is very pleasant and friendly, in my two visits so far, my wait was very minimal - and Dr. Abedin was very attentive and offered excellent advice to improve my quality of life. I've found my new PC!

I had an appointment with Barbara Petty to address some issues I was having. I got the appointment quickly and was sent quickly when I arrived. She was extremely thorough and knowledgeable and especially friendly. It was such a wonderful experience. The office staff was also very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this group to anyone. They’re terrific.

Every single person in the office is personal and professional. I have never had a better team in charge of my well being. All physicians are highly educated and up to date on the latest effective treatments for, or will do the research to understand and treat, whatever ails you. Give them one visit and they will be your new favorite family doctor.

I have met all 3 doctors. I was awaiting my first appointment meeting for each of my children when my one son needed to be seen right away. The staff and doctors didnt hesitate to see us a couple days before due to my sons emergency. They have heard my issues with my last pediatrician office and experience. And is working with my husband with a plan to get my kids healthy again. Love, love, love this practice! If this says anything as to how much I love this practice. We drive 35 min just to see this group. LOVE THEM!

I am in my 70s and Dr. Abedin is the best primary care physician I have ever had. His approach is holistic and he very quickly tells you exactly what you need to do to improve the quality of your life and in regular follow-up visits he carefully, and with understanding of the vagaries of everyday life, helps you keep on track. And, he is assisted in this by a very competent and friendly staff that starts with the reception desk and continues on with the RN team. This is an excellent doctor with a great office staff.

De Abedin has been my and my husband's doctor for the past few years. He is an excellent doctor and very caring. We trust him completely and recommend him without hesitation. Also, the nurses in his office are great and the other staff members are very courteous and helpful. In short, we are very glad that we found them.

Dr. Tareq Abedin was my primary physician for the six years I lived in Loudoun County VA. His approach is very holistic with diet, exercise and mental attitude being as important as western tests and medicines. He takes his time with his patients, he listens and is very direct with his feedback. He is not your typical MD. He sees the whole person, not just the parts.
He promoted lifestyle changes that were difficult to make, but meeting some of the goals he suggested, even halfway, made a difference in my health. When I had more complex issues, he ordered timely tests and referred me to the best specialists. There has never been any doubt to me that he cares about his patients and practices informed medicine with sensitivity and integrity.
