Yes, if you have records or radiology films that pertain to your office visit bring them with you. If you have been referred by another physician, arrange with them to get a copy of your records or have them send a copy for you. Our doctors prefer imaging films instead of discs if available. The majority of our patients will have their surgery as an outpatient day surgery procedure.
Lasers have been used by ear surgery specialists for years, but a new technology is making laser ear surgery more effective than ever. The Lumenis OtoLase Flexible CO2 Fiber Delivery System is a recent technological advancement that allows this laser to be used in a very precise manner to help improve hearing and remove infection in the ear.
A hearing aid is simply a small sound amplifier that can be worn by the user. It is made up of a microphone, an amplifier and a speaker. The sound travels to the microphone which is then amplified and at the same time "equalized", like the equalizer on your stereo, so that the frequencies which are not as responsive in the hearing of the user can be amplified more than others.
The Audiology Services at Owens Ear Center are performed by our highly trained Expert Audiologists. Medical tests are performed by the audiologists which help the Otologists diagnose and treat your hearing and balance problem. For noise attenuation, custom fitted earplugs for musicians, occupational and recreational use.

Dr. Owens is Extremely knowledgeable. After three ENTs, my NEW ENT in Granbury sent me to Dr. Owens. Dr. Owens walked in, said I needed surgery (after reviewing my information from my ENT), and that was it. Now.here is the thing. I am a nurse and know where to find GOOD information (for instance. NOT WebMD, but NIH is a good site). He and his staff also provided a LOT of reading material which I read through completely.

I did my research and I knew what needed doing for surgery. I knew what questions I wanted answered prior to surgery. The nursing staff he works with in pre-op, OR, and Post-op spoke HIGHLY of his abilities. The incision was minimal. I was able to pick up my pain medications and antibiotics prior to surgery. I did end up nauseated Post-op, called his office, and was picking up a zoftan prescription 1.5 hours later (I still had the IV dose in me but felt slightly nauseous and knew I'd need another dose at the 8 hour mark). Overall, Dr. Owens KNOWS what he is doing and does it well and THAT'S what I want from my doctor.

Dr. Robert Owens reconstructed my hearing bones in my left ear, effectively increasing my hearing after I had a tympanoplasty with mastoidectomy to remove a significant cholesteatoma from each of my ears. It was a surgery I had been denied by insurance years prior. Not only did Dr. Owens fight for me, he offered to reconstruct the right ear as well and was also able to restore hearing in that ear after I had been told it was impossible.

He is a good man and has treated me and my son with care using the least invasive, most cost effective approaches without sacrificing effectiveness for 8+ years now. I am grateful for his genuine compassion, love of a challenge, and positive outlook.

He was quick, didn't care or offer any help for my tenunitus, said when you have gray on top you lose hearing. Wasted time and money, nurse gave me a sample VITAMIN when I left. Wow

Staff are kind but Dr. Owens comes in ready to go. He rushes you through questions and his go-to solution is steroid shots. Doesn't seem to actually listen. Just wants you to get out, and that's after making you wait 30-45 minutes just to talk to him.
