Dr. Harvey Sloane advocated for the development of a multi-disciplinary Neighborhood Health Center, funded by the Office of Economic Opportunity, which opened in 1968 in Louisville, Kentucky. It was the first Center of its type in Kentucky. Dr. Sloane and other community activists saw a need for medical care in the severely underserved West End of Louisville, KY, and this vision became a reality with Dr. Sloane as the center's first CEO. Under Dr. Sloane's leadership, the Neighborhood Health Center also developed the first public ambulance service in Louisville, KY.

Don't come here if you expect to be seen at your appointed time. Be prepared for a 2 to 3 hour office visit every time. And if you have to get laboratory work or medication bring a snack like I do, that is additional time spent waiting at Park Du Valle Community Health Center. My appointment today was for 1pm and I should have been one of the first patients seen after their Community lunch break.
I arrived at 12:30 to relax, watch a movie and calm down before my Blood Pressure is taken. I was taken back to the examination room around 1:08pm. It never fails it is now 2:16 and I still have not been seen by the Doctor. I've been told that I have "white coat syndrome. " I think it's just the frustration of coming to Park Du Valle Community Health Center and having to block out hours of my day to sit and wait for one visit.
They have no knowledge of "Time Management " and it doesn't help to tell the infamous people in charge because nothing gets done about it. And they ask me why my blood pressure is always elevated when I come here? Let's think about the unnecessary stresses caused by your lack of concern for your patients. And why do I continue to torture myself with this mistreatment? Finances!
I thank God that I don't have to see them every month. If there is a better solution I am open for suggestions. I am now going to the Nurses desk to see if maybe they have forgotten that I am here. Let's see how long now. My time of departure today was around 3:05pm. I really like the Physicians there and have developed a good relationship. However it doesn't matter if what time of day my appointment is, 1st thing in the morning, in between or immediately after lunch it is always a minimum of 2 hours.
In the past I thought maybe the Insurance Company pays by the hour which is why we are held hostage in the examination room for so long. I am over the excuses and now going to check with my Insurance Provider to see if they can help.

This rating is for the support staff. My experience with Nurse Practitioner Crutchfield is pretty great, but after my visit late in the day yesterday and the way the nurse and another woman spoke to me upon leaving yesterday I will never be back. I was humiliated. I was belittled. I was shamed. Horrible individuals! The support staff overall is lacking in basic office know-how. Messages go unreturned.
The voice mail system has a callback system we n that goes directly to your voicemail. They are overall short and dismissive. I have never experienced anything like this at any medical facility in my life. I assume because I am struggling financially now and because I can't afford to pay out-of pocket to see my old providers that the staff at PDCHC feels it is their right to shame the individuals who walk through their doors. Don't go here if you expect actual caring people.

The most dysfunctional clinic in the city! I had my dentist appointment scheduled for 3 months ahead of time they scheduled on December 24th I told them it was Christmas Eve, they said "yeah we're not leaving until 3 pm that day" that place was not even open when I went there and I still can't get ahold of them, what a joke and here it is January the 16th.don't go here. I will say that The Dentist Dr. Giles is Wonderful, its a shame I can't get an appt

Worst place ever! I had an appointment at 2:45 the doctor didn't see me until 4:30 I was unable to get my tests done because they close at 5. Wasted hours of my time to get nothing done. If I worked there I wouldn't let anyone know, it's awful and some doctors don't even know what some things mean. My doctor literally told me "hold on let me look it up" like what? Awful!

This place is absolutely awful. And it's not even just the service - majority is the pathetic, insensitive, worthless staff. I don't know who's over this place, but the entire business is better off being shut down. I cannot stress how terrible it is. If you don't like your job, QUIT. If you can't treat your patients (and other staff members) with some type of respect, QUIT.
At the end of the day, people's health and safety should be top priority, but unfortunately whoever the director of this place is is a complete failure, and should be embarrassed. It's a bad look. If I could give this review 0 stars I would. THEY ARE NASTY, DO NOT COME. Even if if this was your last option, you are better off traveling 100,000 miles elsewhere all because of the management.

Review for DENTAL: LOOOOVE Dr. Nicholson. She is FANTASTIC and such an amazing dentist. She cares (at least to me). The lady at the front is disrespectful and nonchalant. The OVERBOOK dentist appointments and as of late, there are only TWO dentist. They don't tell you that when you make the appointment. I shouldn't have an appointment at 9, arrive at 845 and am not seen until 12 something.
It's ridiculous. One time, I stayed WELLLLLL over an hour and no one checked in with me. The dentist never showed up. It was absolutely ridiculous. Communication lacks significantly at this location. If they told people that they only had two dentist and did NOT overbook or book to many, it would be so much better. But alas, I sit here waiting to see a dentist whom I have an 9am appointment with and she has 3 patients in front of me. HOW? Do better, Park Duvalle. Also, these ladies at the front desk are laughing and having such a grand time while being paid. I'm losing money on the other hand.

Ive never really had a good experience with dentist. They always seemed so rushed & like they hated their job. My dental provider Christina Giles was ***aaaammmaaaaazing! *** She took every effort to make sure I was completely comfortable for my procedure. She talked to me thru the entire process, letting me know every step she was taking. She was quick, courteous, & super professional. I wish I could give her more stars cause she's worth every one of them! Definitely earned a repeat patient! & I will highly recommend her to others.

So here at park Duvall the security gaurds have access to patient paperwork and information. How is this possible? Why is this allowed? And I said something and I took my paper work from him and he saod he can. And the nurse at door did nothing and said nothing. I said health privacy laws they were not concerened. Beware of this security guards should not have access to no forms paperwork.

So, I decided to come back here to be serviced, and unfortunately, I'm not shocked at what I experienced. After being seen by the doctor, I went to the pharmacy to pick up my medication, which was one simple item. It took 30 minutes to retrieve that item, after I continuously went and asked what was going on and how much longer it would be. I guess being kind and polite doesn't get you anywhere in here because once I went back up in a different manner, I was finally able to get my medication.
The pharmacist that was supposed to verify my medication, came from behind the pharmacy and took her sweet time to do what she needed to do. Absolutely rude and horrible, but no shock!

Honestly they deserve no Stars. I was undecided about writing an review until I read the others. This place is HORRIBLE! I've experience Poor Healthcare in the past but today i actually Dropped tears! The "Dr" told me I had heartburn. How when my blood pressure was 150/101! No kinda concern or compassion at all! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!
