I recently visited this doctor's office and felt the financials were a little weird/dishonest while in the office. After the appointment, I reviewed some things and realized that I was not only overcharged for the office copay but also paid $125 for a service that would have been covered 100% by insurance. While the doctor is very well-mannered, I would approach this office with caution.

I am shocked reading these reviews! We've been seeing Dr. Bernard for over three years for thyroid disease and have had nothing but good experiences. One time we did wait for, maybe, 20 minutes past the appointment time, but he walked in with a sincere apology. Dr. Bernard is knowledgeable, patient, and kind. He truly listens and addresses any concerns.
I come in having read this study or that data and he is on top of all the latest findings or recommendations. I never feel rushed. More recently we started seeing the nurse practitioner, Ann Simmonds (there are two NPs named Ann), and she is equally as wonderful and informed. Historically, I haven't been a fan of seeing NPs, but Ann is really good and well informed.
She's been in endocrinology a long time and her knowledge is invaluable! She's also very good with engaging my teenagers, not an easy task. My experience with the front office has been nothing but positive. They are pleasant and efficient. We travel from Dacula and will continue doing so. I highly recommend this practice without hesitation.

My child has been a patient of Dr. Bernard for the past several years and we have had a terrific experience with this clinic. They are very responsive and proactive, and go the extra mile to pursue all avenues of addressing our concerns. I would highly recommend them to anyone. One of the very best practices we have been to. My child was misdiagnosed for over two years and Dr. Bernard took the time and came up with the correct diagnosis. We are forever grateful. Dr. Bernard and his staff are top notch!

I am not recommending this practice for any parents to bring their children here. I took my daughter to see Dr. Bernard. I signed her up and the lady at the front told me that I was good to go and I don't need to pay any co-pays. Now, they took tests from my daughter and now they are holding the results for me to pay only $38.38. They are calling and emailing me 5 times a day to pay the money.
When I talked to them, one of the workers said that Dr. Bernard is not going to put the results on the patient portal because you have to pay off the money, which is only $30. They told me that you can find another practice. Is this right? This place is all about money, their patients are not important. Also, you don't know where this money and bills are coming from! Be Aware!

This office only cares about financial payments not their patients. We've seen Dr Bernard over the years for my daughter but he books like 8 months out so we end up seeing Ann - both are fine but not exceptional or worth the hassle. Additionally, before you even go back to see the doctor they require you pay a good amount of money upfront (we have secondary insurance that we normally have pay the provider directly but they wouldn't accept this so we had to pay out of pocket and go through a reimbursement process from our secondary insurance) and then in order for them to review results from the lab or x-rays, they won't call you with results you have to set up another appointment which again requires you to pay fees BEFORE being seen.
Most doctors will just follow up with the results or have the nurses call and only require you to come in if there's a reason but again this practice is driven by financial desires. I requested to have the labs and bone growth done beforehand so we would be able to accomplish everything in one appointment but they refused. I also asked if I could provide feedback to the office so they could consider changing their ways but they said they no longer have a way to do that. Suffice to say, we will not be going back!

We have been seeing Dr. Bernard and Nurse Ann for our son for over 3.5 years. Both are great, we mostly see Nurse Ann and we love her! Both the doc and her take so much time to go over every little detail, I have never felt rushed or left with questions unanswered. The couple of times we had an after hours emergency, both the doc and Nurse Ann have called me from their personal cell phone. I really feel my child is safe and in great hands. and so glad to have excellent care so close to home.

If you have insurance (like most people) you are probably fine. If you are self paying for your medical care like I am, get ready for surprises! We have been going there for about 5 years. 3 years ago I started my own business, and when we asked what the office visit charge was, we were told $190. That went well for a while until Dr. Bernard decided to, without previous warning, start charging an additional $50 for reading the CGM We paid it and decide to, going forward, bring a piece of paper with his glucose readings, in order to avoid the $50 additional fee.
This worked for a while until after last month when, out of the blue, Dr. Bernard decided to implement an additional $50 charge for reviewing the CGM data after the patient has left the office. Does anyone even imagine this happening? I called the office to inquire about this. Ray said he would call me back the next day, I called two days after and he said that he "had not had a chance to speak to the doctor" (sounds to me like he just forgot), and committed to calling me back the next day, which did not happen.
Even worse, I did not hear at all from him until I called him two weeks later upon receiving a statement, showing that the fee was still there. On both occasions, even though there was no previous notice, they were unwilling to do a one-time courtesy adjustment. What will they think of next? Who knows, but I will not be here to find out. Moving to a different pediatric endocrinologist for my son. As for the fee, I will end up paying it but will wait for the collections company to contact me. That office will not get more money from me.

Dr. Bernard is great. He is a good specialist and I appreciate what he is doing for my daughter. Our pediatrician said he is one of the best on the South. In the other hand his staff and office is a real mess. We have had appointments given at the wrong time more than once. I got there for my daughters appointment. Registered at 10 am. Waited for 3 hours and after asking several times I was told they overbooked and my appointment could happen at 4 pm. Nurses don't answer messages. Is going on and on. I hate to leave a negative comment but you need to know what is coming when you go there.

My children and I have been seeing Dr Reddy for a long time and we had also seen Dr Bernard briefly and I'm absolutely pleased with both of them. They spend a lot of time with their patients, listening and answering all of their questions in details. The front office staffs are friendly and efficient. The office too is very clean. Although, sometimes the wait can be long, and I do think that is because the providers are so thorough and meticulous. I would recommend their practice without thinking twice.
