Keratoconus is a vision disorder that occurs when the normally round cornea (the front part of the eye) becomes thin and irregular (cone) shaped. This abnormal shape prevents the light entering the eye from being focused correctly on the retina and causes distortion of vision.

The doctors are friendly, the eyewear selection is top notch, and parking isn't terrible- overall 4 stars. The fifth star solely belongs to Carmen. She is incredibly thorough and thoughtful and has impeccable taste. I tend to be a bit discerning when it comes to selecting eyewear, and Carmen has guided me every step of the way. She's gone above and beyond to ensure I'm happy with my choice, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience with her. I would suggest you go to her, but then she wouldn't be as available for me, and that would be very sad.

The wait to be seen was a little longer than normal, but everyone apologized for that. The only reason I even mention the delay is because I had to return to add money to the meter. I put in 2 hours initially and needed to add 30 more minutes. Aside from that everyone was was pleasant, helpful and interested in your sight issues, concerns and best glasses for you.

I highly recommend the SoLo on Michigan Avenue. My eye appointment was efficient yet thorough. Location is warm and inviting. I especially loved my experience picking out new glasses with Carmen. She found the perfect Fendi and Chanel glasses for me. I couldn't resist and purchased both. I really appreciated her input while making a decision. She did not rush me and was not forcing a sale. She also gave her honest opinion. Doctor appointments are never fun, but this was about as easy and headache free as one could be. Thank you Carmen & staff!

This Place is AMAZING! In every way. Everyone here is so professional, and very respectful. This is one of the best eye apt I have ever had. They where understanding and very supporting through the whole process. The atmosphere was very retro & modern, lots of art and warm colors. The prices seems fair and the process was pretty fast. The only thing I can think of is that their selection of glasses where a little bit limiting. It seems like they only carry the average shape glasses, But none the less, This is a very nice place.

I found Solo Eye care from a good old Yelp search. I was looking for an optometrist office that carried Chanel frames. Solo eye care was one of two business I was considering, but I decided to choose Solo because of the amazing reviews, and the accepted my insurance. I love that the temperature check is digital. I had the pleasure to work with Karla.
She is everyone's favorite associate, and I understand why. She makes you you feel so comfortable like you're with one of your best-friends selecting glasses. I'll most likely make this my new optometrist the place is super professional. I received to Chanel frames and I couldn't b happier.
