Dr. Osterdock came to Denver in 2008 to develop the pediatric neurosurgery team at the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. Craniosynostosis has been treated by a variety of methods including simple removal of the involved cranial suture to complex craniofacial reconstruction. Newer techniques involve the use of endoscopes to minimize the incisions and provide a less traumatic approach but require children to wear a helmet for up to a year to achieve significant improvement in the shape of the head.
