Stay away. Indifferent staff. Dr. Of Optometry James acted like He was ready to leave as soon as he dropped into the treatment room. It was like a 19th century factory assembly line. The two technicians seemed hurried and conscious of the time spent moving me along. Worst optometry experience I ever had. I do have an AARP Medicare plan but this was the first time I felt that I was treated with real disdain as a Medicare patient.

I think it was being a Medicare patient was what informed the treatment. I don't have enough confidence after the visit to rely on their work and will find another provider now and start over.

I should have read the reviews. I've never experienced such lack of professionalism from a Physician in MY LIFE. Dr Krueg prescribed several drops for my father that were $250 a piece which he couldn't afford. When I asked Dr. Krueg he actually got angry and rude when discussing what our family could afford. He stated "he could find a drug in our budget but it won't work as good" then proceeded to blame my father for the condition of his eyes. Wow. Run, don't you dare book an appt at this place for service. well unless you have money or your insurance covers $250 eye drops.

I understand Dr Krueg is not in control of prices but he is control of the way he communicates with his patients. You NEVER need to raise your voice or get angry when some wants CLARITY about their options. NEVER! Update: After Dr. Krug was asked about prescribing the high priced brand name prescriptions he THEN prescribed generic meds that cost less than $100 total for 4 RXs vs over $600 for the Brand name rxs ORIGINALLY prescribed.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. This place is the worst. Waited OVER 3 HOURS with my elderly father-in-law today for his appointment. He has been a patient at this office for over 20 years and this company been going downhill the last several years. Today was his last visit. He has dementia, and the rudeness of personnel, when I asked if he was free to go was the final straw. He now has an appointment with CEENTA and will NEVER return to this facility again. Thank God!

I went in for annual appt. i told them i was self pay and they informed me cost would be $210 for the exam and doing optic test without drops. I then got a bill for an additional$194 that included services not requested nor provided. They lost my business. Beware of bait and switch type service. Horizon just be honest and upfront. it not only is the right thing to do but it always pays dividends in the long run.

If you have all day to wait around for a doctor this is a great office. Unfortunately, if you actually have other things to do with your life besides see an eye doctor I would recommend another practice. Had a 1:15 appointment for my daughter. The testing was done relatively quickly. However, we waited on the doctor for 45 minutes. If only doctor's time was treated the same out in public. We will not be coming back.

My wife has been to this office 3 times. Each time, she waited 40+ minutes past her appointment time to be seen. Today nearly an hour. Appointment at 11 today. It is 12:15 and I am still waiting for her. Why so inefficient? Will think twice before using this practice again. Unacceptable service.

Saw Dr Kalyzny (he is only there Fridays) for an annual eye exam and contact lens prescription. He and every technician/nurse who helped with each step were incredibly kind and thorough. The facility is very nice/clean and there was a nice selection of glasses to choose from, better options than Lenscrafters.

Was referred here. Got there and waited 35 minutes to even get admitted into the office. Then waited 30 more minutes to get a single question answered from the doctor. Then when they found out that I wasn't planning on looking at surgery until 6 months out (which they should have asked on the phone first when making the appointment), they sat me in another waiting room to meet with the doc to say that he was basically going to schedule me for a revisit 6 months out just so they could charge me for an office visit today. Get real. I'll go to a doctor that values my time as much as their own.

WORST EYE CARE ANYWHERE! I took my two sons for an eye exam and received the worst service and care you could ever expect in addition to paying for a service we did not receive. My 8 year old son has been wearing glasses for 3 years now and during the exam was told he has Amblyopia. I asked what it was and he told me that it's when one eye has worse vision due to the "wiring" as he called it.

I asked him what can we do and what's the next step, he said there's nothing you can do. Can you imagine being told that your 8 year old son will forever have limited vision. I have since called several other eye doctors and they laughed and were horrified that this is what I was told. They said that there are several options and procedures to start in order to help his vision in that eye.

While the other son who's been wearing contacts for 3 years was given a new eye glass prescription but nothing discussed or needed for contacts however I was still charged $70 for a contact consultation. TERRIBLE ALL AROUND!

Every time I come to this office the front desk staff is very snappy and rude to most of the patients checking in. It's been this way for the past several years and had gotten worse since Covid. I love my Eye MD and his staff but unfortunately the front desk staff starts my visit on a sour note.

The appointment was at the end of JUNE. Child with vision -5! They said, as soon as the glasses are ready, they will call back. A month later, we started calling. There was always a voicemail - no one called back. This location is an hour away from me. The child received her glasses only in SEPTEMBER!

I am very disappointed/ I simply need contacts refilled and I am being told go online - buy them out pocket while I have coverage to get contacts for free via my healthcare insurance I have been a regular using your offices for 22 years! So I go online to place an order and pay out of pocket to get contacts/ YOU have NO INFO OF MY PRESCRIPTION AND YOU HAVE NO EYE EXAMS FOR ME? This is unprofessional and not acceptable.

Horrible horrible practice. Pathetic customer care. My daughter's appt was at 9:00am and they made me wait till 11:00. More than 2 hours wasted. Had half day wasted at this practice. They really need to organize themselves and have more customer caring staff. My daughter was crying and was cranky and I asked if I could give her the lollipop kept at the front desk to my astonishment they refused saying it is only to be given after the checkout.

The office was clean and the staff very friendly. Dr Brewer was absolutely HORRIBLE! She spent maybe 3-4 minutes with us and half of that time was making fun of how my son's eyes looked "oversized" and that if he got contacts he wouldn't "look so awkward". Something my teen didn't need to hear! I was shocked and so angry she would belittle him!

When we walked out of the room she was standing there on her cell phone (which we clearly pulled her away from to begin with). Her assistant was so nice and clearly so embarrassed that she tried really hard to make the rest of our visit pleasant. She was great. I don't normally write reviews but this really bothered me and I feel like I need to share our experience so you are aware before you decide to subject your loved ones to a similar experience.

I do not like the new location. There is way too much traffic and it is hard to find. The traffic is only going to get worse. The front desk staff cannot compare to the nice woman who worked the front desk for years at the Arboretum location. The nurse? who took my information in the examining room should have been nicer.

It's the end of the year and I've got insurance money to spend on glasses. I already have a prescription, so I walked in solely to find glasses. Several people looked up at me when I walked in and even though I smiled, it was not reciprocated and I was not greeted. I stood around for a little while and then went over to the wall to check out glasses on my own.

After several minutes, no one spoke to me and I didn't find a very good selection of frames so I walked out. No one acknowledged my exit either. Great customer service, guys. Everyone is clearly thrilled to be working there and loving life.

After delaying going to the eye doctor for years, I finally scheduled an exam with Dr. Marvin. I was happy to see when I walked in that it was clean and orderly. The receptionist was extremely nice. I had to wait a max of 5 minutes before going back to the exam room. The woman (technician/nurse?) was very conscious of the fact that I was uncomfortable, I have a major phobia of my eyes being touched and she was patient.

I never once felt like she was annoyed or fed up. Dr. Marvin was wonderful. He made sure to answer any questions I had and made me feel at ease. I needed a prescription for glasses-the optics shop in front was great. The woman working helped me try on and pick out several styles until we found one that we thought looked nice on me. I ended up with a pair of Gucci frames that were very stylish. I had a nice experience here, I would recommend Horizon Eye Care!

I went for a new patient appointment. The wait was not long initially but only because they do your appointment in stages where the tech does 90% of it and the Dr does about 10% of it. The paperwork had my name printed wrong and all of a sudden that became my fault. I had to be clear about wanting a glasses script and a contact lens fitting. My insurance paperwork (that I brought with me) said a contact lens fitting would be covered but I had to specifically ask that it be pre-approved.

I wanted a contact lens fitting. The nurse went out of her way to ask the contact lens nurse to get a pre-approval in order for that to be done. Dr. Hustead barely looked at me, did not introduce herself, and did not address the contact lens fitting. She just re-wrote the script on the box of lenses I gave her to show her what I had been wearing. I assumed she was going to do her own assessment for my contacts since I specifically asked for it and gotten the pre-approval.

I asked her about doing the PD distance and writing it for me and she quite abruptly told me she doesn't do that, the tech does and there is an additional fee for it. So much for customer service. I felt like I was just there with everyone else getting shuffled through so they could get my insurance payment. I understand it was the end of the day.

I understand the office was running behind (but really when is one not running behind). Let's just say bedside manner is less than desirable I saw Dr. Hustead for all of 5 minutes. I just hope my script is right. I'll look for another eye dr.

I have been to this doctor two years in a row for my annual eye exam (Dr. Marvin). Either I go on the busiest days ever or they are always running late. My other "routine" annual doctor's visits take about 45 minutes max - here I spend an hour and a half. Ouch! Keep in mind most of that time is just waiting around, I only see the actual doctor for 5 minutes tops! It's hard enough to get away for a doctor's appt during working hours, but spending 2 hours out of my day just doesn't work for me. I will be looking for a new eye dr who can have me in & out in a reasonable amount of time.

We saw Dr Marvin here when my son had a red eye and found him very helpful. All the staff was nice. We were seen very fast and my son's eye is fixed! It was my son's first visit to an eye doctor and he was somewhat frightened. Dr Marvin is very good with kids and was funny as well. He really put us at ease.

My daughter and I both go to Dr. Paul Marvin at Horizon Eye Care in the business park across from the Arbo. He is a great eye doc and I actually enjoy my visits here. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. I have always been blessed with good eyesight, so I don't have glasses or contacts. However, Lauren got reading glasses back when she was in HS and we found that they have a pretty good selection of frames. She has always been able to find the perfect pair of glasses to fit her facial structure and her style.
