Please get new receptionist. They are real unprofessional. I will not bring my child here. SMH. Get new receptionist please.

This place is one horrible, unprofessional, rude unorganized facility @ it's finest. I've honestly went back & forth with this place for many many years & all they do is lie & bounce you back & forth to different people. An employee by the name of Alvin Kenbrow(or however you spell it) had not returned my calls back for months. He set my son up for an appointment for supposedly potty training & as we were headed to the appointment something told me to call prior to confirm cause I hadn't heard from them to confirm & what do you know they said the appointment was canceled due to insurance. Wow but why didn't anyone call to say that?

Then after l did leave a message & never heard back from him someone else called me back to try to explain what was going on, but couldn't cause they really didn't know. They tried to act like I didn't know what I was talking about until I told them the names of the ppl that I previously spoke with. It's SOOO much I can stay about this place it's ridiculous & my hand is tired from writing.

I just don't understand why these people get these jobs for fame & glamour when they really don't give a darn or have any want of care for the kids & clients they're suppose to be servicing. Marcus use to be an upstanding facility from my prior knowledge but with the staff they have now it's gone to pure hell.

Referral/Registration staff is extremely rude and lack the basic skills needed to care for this population. My husband and I was escalated to a supervisor with the last name Wilson (or similar) who threatened to "hang up the phone" because we were upset that they were so neglectful with handling our daughter's paperwork. We did not use any profane language only a stern tone of voice as we have been back and forth with this team on calls since January 7th.

The supervisor answered and the first thing she said was "I can not talk to you both at one time only one designated person needs to be speaking" in a very nasty tone because she heard me speaking to my husband in the background. After multiple faxes, an email, and the online referral, they somehow can not find my daughter's paperwork in their system.

This team is the first interaction for families and sets a bad example for not just Marcus Autism Center but the entire CHOA organization. As a colleague in the medicine, I am utterly disappointed by the lack of respect and compassion for myself, my husband, and most of all our 2 year old daughter! Your supervisor is on a high horse and thinks it is appropriate to play God in Healthcare by denying us the right to any information or assistance because she doesn't like our approach! Be aware of this place! I thought I would give them a try too after the reviews; however, I was sadly mistaken!

This place was amazing. Yes the wait is long and you are placed on a wait list. You also have to make sure to check your phone when they call and they leave you voicemails. I brought my oldest 2 years ago and it was a long wait but it was all taken care of correctly. Yes YOUR PCP (Childs primary doctor) HAS TO TAKE CARE OF THE REFERRAL PROCESS TO MARCUS! IF THEN YOUR CHILD IS DIAGNOSED THEN YOUR PCP STILL HAS TO DO THE REFERRAL TO SPEACH, OCCUPATIONAL AND ABA THERAPY NOT MARCUS THAT IS NOT THIER JOB.

They are there to evaluate your child and give your resources as they have done with me. The fact that it only has a 3 star rating is unbelievable. They are awesome and I will be referring more parents to them.

Staff is fairly rude and what you would expect for the area. Got stuck in Atlanta morning traffic on a rainy day and was 20 mins late on a 2hr ride there and got turned down on my appointment because I did not call in? Like I was suppose to know that ahead of time. This is a Childrens facility yet they do not seem to be children orientated. Very disappointed how this place is operated

I accompanied my client to her sons appointment and the lady at the reception was very RUDE! I did not appreciate how long it took for my client to get her sons evaluation report. I would also appreciate if they had more knowledge of different barriers the immigrants face especially the refugee community. The doctors who did the evaluation were amazing.

Getting into this program has been a long and drawn out process. After years and years of being on the "waitlist ", I found out that my daughter had been placed on a waitlist for speech therapy which doesn't make any sense. In addition, I was never informed that you needed a physician's referral to be considered for the program. This was seven years ago.

So we've been waiting all this time. By chance, a doctor that we added to our child's care team happened to write a referral which got the ball rolling but that was also two years ago. There's so many hoops to jump through. Appointments for the medical clearance makes no sense since we had to fill out medical forms for the clearance and have been cleared.

I imagine this appointment is just answering more questions which can be done over the phone or via Zoom. Appointment times for the clearance are not flexible as they do not take in consideration that you may have other children getting out of school in the afternoon. So, a mid-afternoon appointment is difficult to manage. Zero flexibility. I hope the actual program is better than the process of getting in it.

When you attend prestigious schools and come out feeling like a success but all that happened was an ego and a very nice resume. Unfortunately universities can not teach how to deal with a child's fragile mind- they may give you pointers based on many many evaluation and observations and even still. physicians should never forget to pray and ask for insight (thats if they want to be set apart in their field) on each patient otherwise, it's just a checklist and that's lame. Gods blessings to the children. Mine and All the others!

All doctors say that early intervention is the best. I received a referral in February of 2019 and nothing. We continued to call and no response. I received another referral from a neurologist in Augusts of 2020 and when I called I finally talked to someone and they said I should have received a call to make an appointment months ago and should have already had my appointment.

They sent me to the women who makes appointments and she never answered her phone. I have been calling for months and she never calls back. When they say early intervention is the best and the place won't even call you back. Makes you realize they could care less about you, your family and your child.

I recently brought my son here for an evaluation! The Dr was amazing, I also had my younger daughter and they accommodated me n my stroller. Everyone was wonderful and understanding with my son and how he was. They finally gave us the answers we been looking for and all the resources I needed to take the next steps in my sons treatment!
