George M. Young, MD, General Practitioner and Family Medicine Physician at the Coastal Plus Medical Center, and affiliated with Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville and Saint Vincent's Medical Center Riverside, has been name a 2017 Top Doctor in Jacksonville, FL. Top Doctor Awards is dedicated to selecting and honoring those healthcare practitioners who have demonstrated clinical excellence while delivering the highest standards for patient care.
Dr. Randy John has been a board certified Chiropractic Physician since 2002. He specializes in chiropractic care, auto injuries, sports injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, and nutrition. Being a healer has been a lifelong pursuit for Dr. John. He worked for 13 years in the counseling field before returning to school to become a chiropractic doctor.
Carmen is a Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She began her career in health care by working as an R.N prior to becoming an APRN. She has logged nearly 20 years of experience in various areas of patient care before earning her Nurse Practitioner designation. In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Carmen also has an outstanding academic background that includes a bachelor's degree (BSN in nursing) and a Master of Science in Nursing from the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program of Maryville University.

I moved to Florida about 7 yrs ago, what a blessing that I found this place when I needed to. I absolutely love Carmen Riza, APRN. She listens to and hears you. She doesn't rush you and is always very kind and polite. She is patient, sympathetic and "Thorough". That's very rare these days. All of the staff at Coastal Plus Medical Center is very polite and makes you feel important and cared about. The wait obviously varies, but I've never waited an outrageous amount of time. They are always on top of it, if there is not an emergency.

I've been coming here for a few years and first let me say that Carmen Riza is amazing! She has been my favorite primary care provider. However, the establishment itself is poorly run. I was scheduled for a follow up a week after doing my annual exam. During my follow-up, having been there for 2 hours, it turned out that not all of my test results were ready.
Ok no problem, was told to call back the next week to get them over the phone. I called back a week later and was told that I'd have to come in again for an appointment. Seems to be a lack of communication and disregard for patient's time.

First time seeing Dr.young, he walked into the room and the first thing he said was "I am ready to get the hell out of here." Definitely not a good start and very rude. I brought him labs and he didn't even seemed concerned about them or even told me what was wrong with them. I repeatedly told him what was wrong and he offered no advice. He then told me he was referring me to an oncologist without any reason.
I asked for an explanation and he said "just so they can run the test" he is the worst doctor I have ever seen. Not to mention his helper didn't even know what was going on, I had to tell her she had to draw blood. Also she asked me "does he think you have cancer is that why you were referred to an oncologist?" I will most likely never go back to them. I would give it a 0 out of 5 stars if I could. Horrible.

Super nice staff, Dr. Riza and Dr. Young are both very sweet and nice. they're very attentive and are doctors who actually care about their patients. Their staff is super sweet and comfortable to be around. All of their Medical assistants are well versed in what they're doing- I've been going to this doctors office for more than 10+ years and i've never had an issue! They treat their patients like family- Absolutely Incredible people! :

Dr. Thornton is amazing. I was having tremendous pain in my arms and couldn't sleep through the night. Instantly Dr. Thornton was able to determine the cause and his adjustments relieved my pain instantly and was able to sleep through the night in a very short time. All the staff was very friendly. I highly recommend Coastal plus.
