In addition to assessing your visual acuity, your eye care provider will test for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes are functioning together, and more. Serious health issues like diabetes and high blood pressure are often first detected during an eye exam. The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends children have their eyes examined at 6 months old, three years old, at the start of school, and every two years until age 18. For adults, the AOA recommends a comprehensive eye exam every two years for ages 18 to 60 at minimum and annual exams for seniors age 61 and older.

Wonderful front office staff, very clean office, and the doctor was fantastic. I didn't feel pressured into paying more than I was comfortable with, and everything was a smooth and seamless process. I got my contacts and glasses within a week of my evaluation, which was the quickest I have seen. I have been struggling to find an eye doctor that I love and I am glad I found this place. Definitely the #1 eye doctor in the Denver metro area.

Very Friendly front desk staff. Dr shows empathy and care. Very thorough during the exam. Also explains well. All the pricing is available before the exam - so no surprises afterwards. Quick appointment set up. Nobody pressures with buying lenses and glasses, as it usually happens at other places. Very welcoming atmosphere.

Dr Mamalis is exceptional. I've had plenty of experience with doctors who didn't get the prescription right. Not only did Dr Mamalis discover the error in a botched prescription the first time I went to him, I have never once had an issue with any prescription he has given me. I highly recommend him.

I was out here on a work trip and had a recurring corneal erosion that needed urgent attention. Eye care was able to fit me in without a prior appointment and the staff and Dr Mamalis were sympathetic and helpful. They quickly faxed the paperwork back to my primary optometrist. Then I showed up the next morning for a quick follow up and they squeezed me in again and got me on my way. Great staff and office.

I carefully researched optometrists based on a referral sheet I was given by my optometrist from Michigan. I chose Dr. Mamalis practice due to his education and experience. When I made an appointment I was told if there was a cancellation I would be notified. Within 48 hours I was notified of an available appointment. I had my first appointment yesterday.
The front desk staff immediately made me feel comfortable. The examination by Dr. Mamalis was thorough and took the time to explain my condition. When picking glasses I never felt pressured and the whole experience was very positive! I have already recommended Dr. Mamalis. My husband will be seeing Dr. Mamalis in February.
