Dude was a giant flaming asshole who didn't listen. got very angry when was asked questions. after completing prep, fasting and shitting for two days, i was told i would have to reschedule because i didn't "understand the procedure" though i was asking questions about the legal waiver. because he didn't fucking listen. didn't care about the two day prep wasted, the pain and discomfort OF said prep, didn't care about my schedule or the availability of my escort. fuck that guy. right in the fucking ear. i wouldn't recommend this schmuck if you paid me. wouldn't piss on him if her were on fire.

I went to Dr. Jonathan Erber in part on the recommendation of my primary physician, in 2018, because I needed to consult with a gastro about my acid reflux condition and to get an upper endoscopy. There were two main problems with this office. The first was that they didn't fully inform me how much the entire procedure would cost (including the lab results) and given that I was a cash patient back then, providing precise information in that regard was crucial to me.
After signing all the paperwork and getting the procedure done, I get a collection notice almost half a year later (not even a bill) from the lab saying I owed some $300. I then had to communicate with the office about this for weeks, and they kept telling me that I basically agreed to pay that amount. I did not. After back and forth with the office and after Erber's intervention, they ended up agreeing that I did not have to pay it.
Which should have been the outcome right away. The second problem was the doctor himself. I paid $200 for the initial consultation visit, which was essentially useless and a waste of time and money. And then after getting an upper endoscopy done, he spoke to me for maybe 45 secs, to let me know that everything was OK. No details, no extended discussion of anything.
Just told me keep taking my medicine and everything will be OK. I would think that after paying over $1 thousand for the consultation visit and the procedure, the service would be a little better, the doctor would show a little more care (esp considering I was a new patient) and would spend a little more time with the patient. I have since changed my gastro and am happy with that decision. I would not recommend this office or this doctor.

Best experience with Dr. Erber! I went to visit him because of constant abdominal pain and other weird things. After a short conversation he scheduled me for an upper endoscopy and I was terrified! I absolutely hate doctors, needles, the idea of being under anesthesia because I've never undergone surgery. I went to his office in Ocean Parkway for the procedure; his other office I went to at first is right near my house.
He conducted the endoscopy with a nurse and anesthesiologist present to make sure everything was okay the whole time. The staff were very friendly, made sure I was comfortable, eased my mind and the procedure went exactly as planned. Sure enough, I had an ulcer and infection. I'm being treated for those and have two follow up procedures to make sure everything returns to normal.
Most doctors would've passed my symptoms off as acid reflux and probably would've left it untreated. I was skeptical seeing reviews that he is rude and condescending and doesn't really give a thorough explanation or follow up with results. But I never felt this way and am truly happy with my treatment. He explained and showed images of the exact issues and how we can treat them. I would absolutely recommend him :
