Chicago Women's Health Center CWHC facilitates the empowerment of women, trans people, and young people by providing access to health care and health education in a respectful environment where people pay what they can afford. Each year, over 6,000 women, trans people, and young people access health services through CWHC. CWHC provides care and services that people in Chicago need, but often cannot find anywhere else. Since we opened our doors in 1975, CWHC's programs have been shaped by our clients' and students' needs for accessible, comprehensive health care and health education.

Best clinic in Chicago for women. Friendly people and staff. Only issue is parking but there is some nearby. I feel so safe there as a woman. When I get my exams. TMI but I feel no shame getting naked. My gyno told me the first time not to feel shame it's my body. It was so empowering. I'm a Social worker and these people are trained on how to be sensitive to anyone who comes in their office. The best place. And I don't have insurance so they offer payment plans. I wish there were more clinics like this.

Updated from 3 to 1 star. Provider stopped responding to requests to refill my prescriptions (that I've been on for over a year and shouldn't be stopped abruptly) and never received any contact back from them whatsoever. CWHC was the best Healthcare I've received, hands down. That being said, I'm more than disappointed in the abrupt end to that care.

I received a returned payment that was months old, my provider will not respond to my pharmacy's request to refill my prescriptions, they don't answer the phone and I've not received a return call. Are they out of business? Is this my provider's way of breaking up with me? Honestly, I'm hurt. I'm confused. I've been without medication and am experiencing negative side affects and symptoms as a result.

Maybe it was too good to be true. CWHC, I'm saddened to now be faced with having to start over with finding a new provider with no explanation or understanding. Never thought I'd get ghosted by my doctors office.

I was referred to this facility by the hospital I delivered at because I needed physical therapy but was having issues with my insurance. I had to wait for an entire month for an appointment. They were very accommodating when it came to scheduling my appointment, however, failed to provide me with insight on how to gain access to the facility since my appointment was after hours.

I showed up for my appointment the office was closed, there were no postings for after hour contact, I called the office and there was no option that allowed me to contact anyone because the office was closed. So, I missed my appointment. I did leave a voicemail which led them to call me back the following day to inform me that there was a specific door that I was supposed to utilize that had a buzzer to gain access.

Then referred me to another facility because they didn't have any appointments available for over another month. No real apology nor any kind of accommodations for making me miss my appointment, that I waited a month for that was ultimately keeping me from returning to work. Absolutely no empathy nor accountability. Horrible.

Pros: Best place for Healthcare period. I have been coming here off and on since 2008 because of change of insurances. Currently they don't accept my insurance and I still would rather pay sliding scale than go any where else. They're thoughtful and take their time and don't weigh me. Cons: still don't have an online portal and everything is on paper like 1997 it's strange.

Also disappointed that there are barely any poc on staff right now. When I'm there I see no Black folks and the possibly Latinx person there is white. They could definitely do better on that. they don't take many insurances I wish they were paneled with more.

This place is literally the best. They go out of their way to make sure you feel safe and comfortable no matter what you're there for. I have had numerous really wonderful experiences here. It makes such a difference to have a health center that really cares for and supports you.

I have been with the center for over 4 years and I dont think I've ever been taken care of as well as these beautiful people have been caring for me and my health related needs! They're all compassionate, caring, attentive and non-judgmental, which are some of the most important qualities one can have, working in healthcare! I'm so beyond grateful for their support, during very difficult times I've been going through, lately.my health started to act out, recently, and I neded to address it, right away.they took me in immediately, listened to all my concerns and provided me with the best care possible, given my circumstances not having insurance and being laid off my full time job, due to the pandemic! Today, I called them again, with a concern that's been bugging me for several months now and they didnt even hesitate to deliver, once again -1000%.

I couldn't come in due to caring for my daughter who's just had serious surgery, the other day, so they did what they had to do over the phone and now I'm at peace! I have to be strong and healthy for my child, right now, more than ever! THANK YOU for putting up with my craziness haha (my brain is scrambled, I havent slept in 2 days ) and thank you for your compassionate souls!

I definitely recommend this beautiful, authentically chic and friendly place, for any of your needs, especially concerning gyno problems and situations. Especially, if you dont have insurance! They put you on a payment plan, if you're unable to pay right away, and their prices are always discounted! Professional healthcare workers will take a great care of all of your needs, dont hesitate to go see them!

Fantastic people, really like an awesome group of Rns, workers and doctors striving to make a difference in the Healthcare of women in chicago. They even proactively will help with insurance pricing, differential pricing based upon how much you can afford. Lovely people. Lgbtq+ friendly and accepting.

I had the best experience with Chicago Women's Health Center. As a young immigrant doing an internship in Chicago two years ago I was welcomed in with open arms, availed of fantastic counselling sessions and had my general women's healthcare taken care of. I am moving back to Chicago in September and I am excited to have them as my primary health center.

I am so appreciative of the work that these people are doing. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the staff were open-minded, non-judgmental and professional. I would 100% recommend to a friend. : MORE OF THIS!

The providers and staff are incredibly kind and knowledgable. Regardless or your ability to pay, they will ensure you receive care. They're progressive and offer trans health services as well as a gender-affirming atmosphere. They also made me feel heard and comfortable every step of my exams, especially my first gyno exam which I was very nervous about. I go to CHWC for gyno, primary care, and mental healthcare. They are bar none the best group of humans. They really care.

Been going here for over 7 years. My original Doctor named Louise really made me feel at home. She cared enough to call me when I'd went a while without a visit. She made me feel comfortable and loved which is more than I can say for any doctor's office ever. She passed away and since I've missed her entirely but the other staff are helpful and meet you right where you are in terms of care.
