Most adults have some degree of sun-induced skin damage. Depending on complexion and sun-exposure history, it can range from mild to severe. As the sun damage in the skin progresses, most of us notice areas of color changes, skin spots, rough areas and "lumps and bumps." While many of these changes are not directly dangerous, the sun damaged skin is at increased risk for pre-cancers, malignancies, and more. It is important to have a Dermatology examination at least once a year to identify problem spots that need attention.
Our main goal in caring for sun-damaged skin is preventing the development of cancers. Naturally, protection from exposure is important, including hats, long-sleeve clothing, and sunscreen. But equally important is to have a skin examination at least once a year, or more often if you've already had a skin cancer.
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) may be right for you if you have sun-damaged skin, actinic keratosis (pre-cancers), acne, rosacea, or several other skin conditions, including some skin cancers. Dr. Herbst is a pioneer in PDT, and has used the procedure for over 17 years. With increasing experience, research and evidence, the role of PDT in the treatment of skin conditions is steadily increasing.

I cannot say enough about this place! From my first phone conversation w/Nichole who was so helpful to my actual procedure performed by the amazing Dr. Alexander, this was by far the best care i have ever received from a doctor's office. Cara & all the ladies in the office were fantastic. Go see them now. You won't regret it.

Wonderful experience! My mom came to visit and showed me a worrisome spot on her back. Scared and worried I called the next morning and was lucky enough to get a same day appointment. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the friendly staff and I knew we were in good hands. And boy was I right. The nurse and her assistant were AMAZING! (Im sorry I forgot their names as my mind was in worry mode.) They explained what it was, anwsered all our questions, removed it and were so sweet throughout the whole process. I am so grateful to have found such a caring place to take care of my mom. Thank you to all you special women!
