I have seen Dr. Roda for migraines for more than a year. I had appointments with her about every 3-4 weeks, and each appointment she would ask about the frequency of my migraines and order a new/different medication. I expressed early on that I wanted help identifying migraine triggers, so I could solve the underlying problem and so I didn't have just mask it with medication forever.
Each time I would pose that at an appointment, she would dismiss me with a couple questions and a new med idea. One day, she recommended I wean myself off my current daily preventative medication and try samples of a new medication. The new medication were expected to have more side effects, and (within my right as a patient) I decided not to try the samples.
When I told her this at my next appointment and stressed I wanted to look more into triggers instead of switching meds each month, Dr. Roda got upset with me. She made it clear she thought my concerns over the new drug's side effects were stupid and snapped at me, rolling her eyes, saying, "Well what are we even doing here, Grace, honestly?" I've never felt more disrespected, uncomfortable and helpless seeing a physician -- whose goal should be to listen to and care for the patient they commit to heal.

I have been going to this clinic for over 15 yrs. I found that only 1 of their treatments worked. But because I "Possess" a medical marijuana card, even if I test negative, I can no longer be treated. They called me on the phone inquiring about it yet never told me until I drove an hour and pd the co-pay, that they no longer would treat me. BS shame on them

I have been a patient in this practice for many years, having seen Dr. Reed and previously Dr. Kriegler, they are both excellent Neurologists. I was reluctant to stay after Dr. Reed left, but I have found that Dr. Roda is very understanding and compassionate. She understands that I have chronic migraines and does her best to manage them. She spends time and will research treatments other than the usual protocol to help. I have referred other patients to her and she takes time with them and does go above and beyond expectations in that she researches based on patient needs.

Dr. Roda is rude and dismissive. I have had great success managing my migraines with Botox with another doctor. That doctor left the practice, so I was scheduled with Roda. The procedure, reportedly an updated protocol, was invasive and traumatic. Roda displayed no compassion for me while she was inflicting this trauma. She then simply left the exam room when she was finished.
A few weeks later, I went t see her for a follow up. Her first comment to me was "I'm surprised you came back." Now I regret that I did. She continued to be rude and dismissive, essentially calling me crazy for wanting a different procedure. I wouldn't send my worst enemy into her care.

Do not, I repeat, do not waste your time or money at the American Migraine Center. It is just a Botox mill. Unfortunately, I was a patient for years and never was treated simply as a person, let alone as a person with a debilitating disease in need of medical care. Neither the doctor nor the staff bother to communicate with you unless it's to facilitate your Botox appointments.
The receptionist employed there for years was rude and insulting, then replaced by another one just as bad. I finally gave up after too many instances of neglect and blatant mistreatment. I found there are much more professional, competent, and caring headache specialists in the same area. I wish I hadn't remained a patient there, out of desperation, for so long. We have enough problems coping with life as chronic migraineurs to pay greedy physicians to use and neglect us.

Amazing staff. Honestly, I don't know what I would do without Karen, Tracey, or Dr. Roda. I suffer from chronic migraines and have been working with their team for a little over a year now. I'm still working through the migraines, but any time I find myself unable to fight off a migraine, the women are right there to help ease the pain quickly.

I wish I knew where Dr. Reed went. I like Karen Steffy at the center. They have one of the worst receptionists I have ever had to deal with. Mean and inaccurate in entering or repeating appointment information in the past. On one occasion I also called to find out if they could treat hemiplegic headaches for a relative, and couldn't believe how rude she was.
