Services
We offer complete diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the skin, hair and nails, from common disorders to complex conditions that require multifaceted treatment systems. We see patients of all ages, from young children, to older adults.
Mohs surgery was developed by Dr. Frederic E. Mohs in the early 1930s as a special technique for the removal of skin cancer, and it is now practiced throughout the world at specialized centers. It permits the immediate and complete microscopic examination of the removed cancer tissue, so that all roots and extensions of the cancer can be eliminated.
At every age, we all want our skin to look as smooth, radiant and healthy as possible. Charlotte Dermatology offers a wide range of Aesthetic Services in our 7th Street and Waverly offices that help women and men regain and maintain a lasting, more youthful appearance. Our two Certified Medical Aestheticians perform in-office procedures that have little or no downtime.
In our office, we offer The BLU-U Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator as way to non-invasively treat dermatological conditions. In combination with the Levulan Kerastick (aminolevulinic acid HCl) for Topical Solution, 20%, the BLU-U is indicated for the treatment of minimally to moderately thick actinic keratoses of the face or scalp.

Do not go here! Charlotte dermatology does not care about their patients they just care about the check and it is EXPENSIVE. I went to get my skin checked out but did not move forward with any prescriptions/ topicals and they charged me $170. Save your money and find a different dermatologist!

The worst dermatology in charlotte. I had a simple procedure done. Very small cyst removed from my back. My skin is taking forever to heal. My incision is open I have to wait more than a month to see another surgeon to see what's the problem. Despite being healthy with no medical issues.after of couples of months. I saw Dr ElJamel. Had another surgery. He's the best. I wish he did my surgery the first time. He's very professional, kind, listens to your concerns. Answers your questions not the like the first doctor.

I drove 40 minutes one way for a follow-up appointment only to find my doctor is no longer at the Matthews branch. Makes me think if they drop the ball on scheduling maybe they would drop the ball regarding my health. They even sent me a text confirming the appointment for Matthews. It would have been so easy to let me know my doctor is no longer at that branch in that text.

Dr. Slaughter is one of the best in the game, he's very knowledgeable and I highly recommend. My daughter has been battling eczema and other skin conditions for two years, my husband's mom recommended Dr. Slaughter and within months her skin is clearer and better than its been in awhile. Thanks

Beware: this is one of the few practices in Charlotte covered by ACA and they engage in insincere and non transparent financial practices. They don't disclose pricing of biopsies or procedures ahead of time. They also pass off labs and biopsies to providers out of network without notifying patients. Bills are sent half a year later.

On my 1st visit I saw PA Stephanie Weaver for a routine skin check & she was so kind & very thorough. I returned recently to follow up on a mole and saw PA Brannon Puett bc Stephanie Weaver was on maternity leave & he was also super lovely. I know they must be quite busy but I've never felt rushed which I so appreciate. Front desk & check out staff have always been friendly as well.

I saw Dr. Altman at this location and I've never felt so rushed and not listened to. I have an autoimmune disease and have a rhuematologist that I see. When I told him about it, he said "No you don't, it's too rare." After 2 visits, I saw no improvement and he put me on a medication with a lot of side effects. When I expressed my concerns about it, he was very dismissive and unhelpful. I got a second opinion at Paviol Derm down the road and he listened to me, took his time, and helped me get better almost completely.

Unprofessional both in their practice and billing. I went in for preventative care but it wasn't billed that way. The doctor who seemed hurried saw me for less than five minutes, zapped a few places and sent me on my way. I got the bill, called to find out why it was billed that way. Never got another bill until a bill from a collector. I won't be back to the office on 7th St.

I can't say enough positive things about this practice. I have been a long-time patient and recently had to have an in-office procedure performed. Starting with my initial biopsy, I have received only the best care from the entire team at Charlotte Dermatology. The PA (Stephanie) who did my initial biopsy was thorough, patient, and prompt in getting my results to me as well as in getting my second surgery arranged; she has also been a wealth of knowledge and reassurance.

I spoke with Shannon preoperatively who eased my fears during a very stressful time (not to mention, she provided the best anesthesia during the procedure!) Dr. Altman and Jackie did my surgery and they worked quickly and efficiently all while making sure I was calm and comfortable the entire time. From start to sutures out, the staff has been nothing short of amazing. I would highly recommend Charlotte Dermatology to any of my family, friends, or anyone reading this review for any of their dermatologic needs.

I have seen 3 of the medical professionals at Charlotte Dermatology so far, both for routine checks and urgent issues. Each visit was comfortable, the procedures were carried out quickly and effectively, and I was treated very well. I saw Stephanie Weaver, Melissa Boothe, and Denton Mow. They were all professional and provided care that a family doc and an urgent care could not handle. I'm happy to be a patient of theirs!
