The Allen Eye Center is dedicated to individualized care to each and every patient in a caring and understanding way. The Allen Eye Center was established in 1985 by Dr. Vivian Allen, a board certified ophthalmologist. The office has relocated to the Salisbury Lakes Office Building, 4130 Salisbury Rd, Suite 2000 in the Southpoint area of Jacksonville, FL. The front entrance is on the left side under the blue awning.

The most common cause of a cataract is aging. Other causes include trauma, medications such as steroids, diabetes, and extreme UV light exposure. Depending on your prescription needs, you may qualify for a Premium Type lens implant such as a ReStor or Toric lens implant. This could eliminate or reduce your need for glasses.
Misaligned, or crossed eyes, can be embarassing to adults, and vision threatening for children. A misaligned eye in a child can lead to "lazy vision" in one eye. If not treated at an early age, permanent visual loss in one eye can result. If you suspect your child has a crossed or misaligned eye, you should schedule an eye exam as soon as possible.
From I-95, take Butler Blvd Exit- East; turn left on Belfort Rd. Go to light in front of Saint Vincent's Southside Hospital, make a left and continue on Southpoint Parkway through the stop sign to traffic light. Make a left and continue on Salisbury Rd. just past Coventry Lakes Apartments. The Salisbury Lakes office building will be on your right hand side.

Terrible customer service! I was given a referral from my PC Dr, it said my insurance was Eligible for this Dr. and location. I called just to be sure. I was told she would call me back after checking. 7 working days later I hear nothing so I called and explained, I was put on hold while she supposedly checked. 12 minutes later she says she's the only one up there and she knows she has it somewhere.
So back on hold I go. Now I'm finding it a little hard to believe that they are That busy since she answered after the first ring but benefit of the doubt I continue to hold. It honestly seemed to me they just didn't want to except my insurance (Medicaid) because it would've paid less than others but why not just say that!?! After 19 minutes and change that's it I'm done! How rude! Sheesh!

Worst place ever they made me wait over 2 hrs and half i got tired to wait cause my kids were fussy they were careless dind't explain anything i had to leave cause i couldn't get the eye exam for my 2 years old daugther they say they didn't dind the tech.i'm so dispoitment of this place i had the worst experince i ever had.it was raining.they didn't care enough to tell me something or explain me and the worst thing they see people that got there after us.i'm so sad.
