LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis. Its primary use is to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. Using LASIK, Dr. Pilkinton can improve your vision so that you no longer need glasses for distance. Dr. Pilkinton does this by reshaping the eye's thin, transparent covering, or cornea.
A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye that affects vision. It can occur in one or both eyes. Most cataracts are related to aging. People can have an age-related cataract in their 40s and 50s, but these tend to be small and don't often affect vision. It is after age 60 that most cataracts affect vision.

Dr. Dale Pilkinton was incredibly rude and his bedside manner was nonexistent. He made sure to make me feel even worse about how bad my eyesight is. All of his answers to my questions were either "I don't know" or " I'm not sure" or "I've never done that before". If your eyesight is an easy fix and something he can make a quick buck out of, then go here. But if not, then don't waste your time here like I did. Now I have to go to another doctor that can actually answer my questions and knows what he/she is talking about.

My husband and I had gone to see another Cataract Ophthalmologist in Dickson who told us that our eyes were very bad and we needed laser surgery quickly. The price was also very high, he told us that we were poor candidates for regular cataract surgery. I just had a bad feeling about this and proceeded to get an appointment with Pilkington Eye Center. OMGOSH!
How wonderful to know that I had no real issues, a bit of cataract but not needing surgery right away. I could wait a couple of years or more! Clearly we were almost scammed! We are so very pleased to have gone to see Dr. Pilkington and Dr. Ross (optometrist) are so ethical, friendly and did not rush us. In fact, they took the trouble to explain everything in great detail. The nurses and front desk ladies are all so very professional and friendly! We will always go to Pilkington!
