Services
As we age, the effects of time begin to take their toll. Wrinkles, bags and frown lines appear around the eyes, giving a tired appearance. Poor diet, smoking and sun exposure further accelerate the aging process. We offer a variety of cosmetic services to help you regain your youthful appearance. T'he current trend in cosmetic surgery is toward minimally invasive procedures with shorter recovery periods. Many of today's surgical procedures require less downtime than in the past, and are performed in an outpatient setting.
Many general health conditions also can affect the health of your eyes, and should be evaluated by a specialist. While we see many patients with these problems, not all of them require surgery. Also, the treatment of these medical problems may be covered by your insurance. Ptosis is a drooping of the upper eyelid.
Your first appointment with Dr. Chen will consist of an initial consultation. At that time, he will examine you and discuss your treatment options. Arrangements will be made to schedule your surgery. This appointment will take between 60-90 minutes, depending upon the complexity of your problem. We have offices located in Glendale and Scottsdale, to serve our patients throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Dr Chen performed blepharoplasty (drooping eyelids) on both of my eyelids last June and I cannot express how happy I am with the outcome. Better than I could have imagined. The procedure was such a breeze. Did it while awake and no problems. Best decision ever! He is very kind and professional! Strongly recommend!

A TRUE PROFESSIONAL! I am in the television and entertainment business and (although shallow) my appearance on the stage is very important to my career. I am thrilled with my results with Dr. Chen and his staff. I went for a trans lower bleph, and although I was not a slam dunk candidate or a 10 out of 10 who was in dire need of a procedure, Dr. Chen told me very clearly that I was a 5-6 and what to expect.and I am very happy with the results!
There is more healing time, but what I love about this experience was that Dr. Chen and his staff were the following: professional, EXCELLENT BEDSIDE MANNER, listened to me (I even had a list of questions on a piece of paper and there was no eye rolling, sighs, or impatience from him), and he is skilled! It is very hard to find that combination in any business, never mind ocularplastic surgery.
He also is not too "aggressive" in his surgeries--as in the oversculpted and swollen looks of so many people today--that he gives you a wonderful refreshed look! He is fair, reasonable, and in something so impossible the care for your eyes, I would go back to him in a second! Go see him!

Had an upper blepharoplasty in June and couldn't be more pleased with the results or the procedure itself. Was treated with courtesy and professionalism from the first moment. Dr. Chen took the time to listen to me about what I wanted and made adjustments for my particular eye shape. I will say I did not have to call for any concerns post surgery so I cannot speak to what that experience would have been like.

Was not happy with Dr. Chen's staff at all - rude, condescending and not at all in the business of making you feel more comfortable with a potential surgery. The doctor was fine but after having consultations with a few doctors regarding my upper and lower bleph., I realize that he was not very informative and didn't seem to really take any time to discuss MY surgery.
It was like he had a totally planned speech about the surgery and there was nothing @ my eyes/face. etc. After going to another doctor who was very specific and detailed, I could never go back.

I too am very unhappy with the office manager, but at his Scottsdale office. I believe her name is Lynn. I wrote a letter directed to the doctor as "Personal & Confidential", yet she took it on her own to open it. The reason I wrote the doctor was because my post operative phone calls to his office manager were not being returned over a payment due issue.
So I wrote him a letter asking him to address this concern of mine himself, but he has surrounded himself with certain people that make him look uncaring. Has this doctor become so busy that he can't be bothered? When I write a letter specifically addressed "Personal & Confidential", I don't like it being intercepted by his staff. Especially since she was unwilling to offer any compromise regarding my request.

To tell you the truth I wouldn't even want to give 1 star to this doctor. After having gone in for a chalazion removal surgery not only did it not get rid of the chalazion but I had to go back in for a second time of pain and agony(they poke your eyelid with a needle for the anesthesia, supposedly your eyelid has been put to sleep but I felt it both times)!
Its now been over 6 months since and I still have a slight bump & redness where the initial chalazion was AND to top it off I have an additional what looks to be a whitehead right next to it that was not there previously! Please do not go to this doctor. I was doing research after I got this procedure done and other specialists have stated that its better to just have a steriod injection and that is much more effective, the only reason doctors do not go that route is because they get paid more for the surgery rather than the steriod injection. Please do your research before going the route of surgery & depending on your specific situation, try to request a steriod injection if you can!
