Dr. Ming Wang, Harvard & MIT (MD, magna cum laude), PhD (laser physics), is a world-class cataract and LASIK eye surgeon, philanthropist, and community activist. He is the founding director of Wang Vision Institute and a Clinical Professor for Meharry Medical College, both in Nashville, TN. As an eye surgeon in Nashville, TN, Dr. Wang has performed over 55,000 procedures, including on over 4,000 doctors.
As a consultative optometrist, Julianne Koch enjoys seeing patients of all ages with a wide range of concerns. With a doctor of optometry degree, as well as several years of practicing in a medical optometry and ophthalmology settings, Dr. Koch is able to detect, treat, and manage a range of conditions, injuries, and ocular diseases that affect the wellness of our many patients. With plenty of diverse experience under her belt, Julianne brings her positive attitude to every patient she encounters.
Dr. David Zimmerman serves as a consultative optometrist at Wang Vision Institute. Dr. Zimmerman routinely counsels patients interested in refractive surgery. This includes reviewing options of LASIK, SMILE, PRK, ICL, refractive lens exchange, cataract surgery and the various premium intraocular lenses.

I've wanted to have vision correction for the longest time. I have worn glasses since the age of 7 and contacts from my teen years. Now 36 I have no of ever seeing without having to have them on. With vision at -6 I couldn't do anything in my daily life without having them on. I chose to do the SMILE correction surgery with Dr. Wang this past week and already I see 20/20!
It's the most amazing feeling to wake up and see my children and my husband without looking for my glasses. The moment surgery was completed I got extremely emotional being able to see in the room immediately. Dr. Wang is an extremely talented surgeon and deeply cares for his patients. He even prayed with me before he began the surgery. That alone made me feel calm and at ease.
His staff is wonderful from the front desk welcoming you as soon as you walk in to the door to the optometrists making sure your eyes are healthy and ready for surgery and all of the other staff in between! They make you feel like family and not a patient. I highly recommend Wang Vision Institute for your vision correction needs! You only want the best for your eyes!

I've been recommending Wang Vision Institute to all my friends and family. I had really bad vision for such a long time (-9.75 and -10), and was not qualified for LASIK. I more recently started having trouble seeing up close, as my prescription was so high it was distorting images nearby! I felt that I may never be able to see clearly. until I decided to have one more opinion.
When I first stepped into the office of Wang Vision Institute, I felt instantly at home. I went through some tests, and was told I qualified for SMILE! The staff was great, from my very first consultation appointment to all my follow up appointments! Dr. Wang was so personable and even prayed before my surgery (which I really appreciated). From start to finish, I never once felt uncomfortable.
The surgery itself was super easy - it just looks like a white napkin is placed over the eye and someone is moving a flashlight around! No pain! It's now been two weeks, I can see really well, and am so happy! If you're on the fence, just go for it! You won't regret it! Some advice: you can go to Dr. Wang's Tuesday night seminar to be enrolled in a drawing to potentially get 50% off the surgery, and learn some really cool things about his life!

5 STARS! It has been 3 months since I had my operation and I am still raving about it. I was sure I would be in contacts/glasses for the rest of my life, but after hearing so many testimonies I decided to go for it! From the first moment I got there, I felt supported and comforted. Everyone I interacted with was very knowledgeable and patient. Even during the operation, both the doctor and the assistant both kept talking and helped me feel like I was doing a great job staring straight ahead. I have recommended Wang Vision Institute to everyone!

Had a great experience correcting my vision with Wang Vision Institute! Dr. Wang and his entire staff were amazing to work with and very friendly through the whole process. From setting up the initial appointment all the way to my checkups they are very responsive and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Wonderful experience with Wang Vision Institute. The entire staff was wonderful, always helpful and kind. They ensured I had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-up. I have spent over 20 years of my life in contact lenses/glasses and after only a couple of hours I could see! I can't believe I waited this long! I am so glad I chose Wang Vision Institute and would highly recommend to anyone.

On Friday, I traveled to Nashville for my Lasik consultation and "hopefully" surgery at the Wang Vision Institute. All paperwork and directions had been sent to me before hand. The paperwork included detailed pictures related to parking and arrival to the office. I was greeted with friendly staff at each point of my visit, from the initial eye exams, consultation with the Optometrist, support staff and finally the surgeon and technician.
Within 4 hours of arrival I was approved and my surgery was completed. I received all the information and items needed to get me home for a successful recovery. I followed all the post procedure protocol and had a great followup the next Monday. I have no regrets, except I wish I had gone to Dr Wang sooner.

I had SMILE in Jan 2022. It went really well. I am used to be extremely near sighted, but after surgery, my eye sight was instantly better. It's almost three weeks later, my eyes feel so normal and my eyesight is pretty good as well. Thank you for all the technicians and surgeon. The surgery itself is painless and really quick.

I had SMILE eye surgery here. The surgery itself went well. My issue is with the follow ups. On my first follow up 2 days after the surgery, I had to wait an hour to see the surgeon and for him to preform the exams. I was informed once he was in surgery and would come immediately after. This happened maybe 30 minutes into my hour long wait. I shrugged it off.
They explained it it was fine. Then on my next follow up about 2 weeks after, I had an appointment at 9. I arrived at 8:50 was let into a room at 9:11 and am still in the same room at 10:11. I again am having to wait over an hour to see a surgeon. No one has came back into the room after leading me here and doing an initially eye exam. I have been here for an entire hour without communication on a follow up appointment.
I do not expect this long wait with an appointment and during a routine follow up on a Thursday. It is clear they do not value your time. I'm highly disappointed in the after care they show for patients.

It is life changing to wake up and not have to deal with contacts or glasses. I went from being very nearsighted to 20/20 vision with the SMILE procedure. Wang Vision Institute made the process so easy and their team is amazing! Scheduling is simple, everyone is super nice, and they are sure to keep you completely informed of what to expect next.
