The knee is subjected to immense loads, forces and torque as it stabilizes and propels the body. A tear of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee can occur when those stressors on the knee become overwhelming. An ACL tear is a severe injury that commonly occurs during sports activities. The ACL provides critical stability to the knee and once it is torn, the knee doesn't function well and it buckles frequently. You can't return to sports activities without an ACL and a stable knee. Surgery is needed.
The Rotator Cuff is the primary muscular unit that provides stability and function to the shoulder. It is crucial for a healthy shoulder to maintain an intact rotator cuff. Partial rotator cuff tears are generally just wear and tear and they can heal without surgical intervention. They are usually successfully treated with medications, injections and therapy.
Sports medicine involves the treatment, recovery and prevention of athletic-related injuries. However, with today's active lifestyles, sports medicine now applies to a broader section of the population and not just athletes. No one has the time to be injured nor the time to recover from an injury. Everyone deserves a quick diagnosis and fast recovery.
Over time, an active lifestyle can lead to arthritic destruction of your joints. Just as prolonged driving wears down the tread on your tires, the cartilage lining of your joints also wears down and wears off from prolonged use. When a knee, hip or shoulder wears out and develops painful crippling arthritis, Dr. O'Meara can replace the damaged joint to relieve your pain and improve your function and independence.

Im not usually one to leave reviews but this experience was awful. Please beware of this office and proceed with caution. I sat waiting to be seen for an hour while overhearing the staff chitchatting in the hallway about personal matters. When I was finally seen by Dr. O'Meara, it felt very much like he didn't care. Aloof, condescending and unprofessional. I highly recommended going somewhere else if you have the option.

This place have many many problems. they ask you about your religion, which is racism they give you an appointment but you won't see the doctor for minimum 1 hour after your appointment. they say that they will call you back but never does. even I'd you speak a enough english they want a translator. I'd you ask more then one question they start giving you attitude. the one star is for the doctor himself
