Meet the Optometrists Report

Dr. Mary Pirotte Hemphill was raised in Wichita, and after attending the University of Kansas, she graduated from Southern California College of Optometry in 1988. After graduation, she then joined the staff as an optometrist at the Eye Center of Kansas City/Hunkler Eye Center, for approximately eight years, providing primary care, pre- and post-operative surgical care.

My family and I have gone here for years and we love it! Dr. Lozado is so sweet and explains everything thoroughly to us. He also speaks Spanish which is so helpful since my mom only understands Spanish. We have always been treated with respect and will never go to another place.

My family recently just went here, for an eye exam of course. Family was informing me there experience was not good at all. Lady screamed at my mother telling her to put her mask on, after she forgot to pull it up. "PUT YOUR MASK ON! PUT YOUR MASK ON!" As I, myself work in the hospital field there are better way to approach patients on pulling up there mask.

This is a difficult time, yes, but yelling at a patient is not an excuse. Front lady were also rude and had a little sass to them. Sad to say not a good experience at all. Doctors were very kind, staff was not on the other hand.

Dr. Mary is amazing me and my daughter kailynn love her. She will go above and beyond to make sure you are getting what you need. She is truly the best I have ever came across in the health care field. She knows her job and knows it well. We are moving out of state but I will definitely make the drive because she's that good, and I know I will never find another Dr. Mary anywhere.

I went there today for my first time. I saw Dr. Hemphill and she is the friendliest doctor I have ever seen. She was so thorough at explaining the types of glasses/lens' available, was very personable and knowledgeable as well. I wish I could see her for more than my eye needs.

I absolutely love Dr. Mary! She is very thorough, knowledgeable & personable. I absolutely enjoy her appointments. She likes to dig to the root of your problem not just cover the surface stuff. She will also follow up with you to make sure everything is going well. She always leaves me with "call me if you need anything." I wish all doctors were like her. I enjoy her practice so much I have paid out of pocket when I didn't have any insurance. She is worth every penny!

I just had an appointment there with Dr. Hemphill for my 6 year old daughter. She was fantastic and will become the eye doctor that our whole family uses! The office staff was great as well. I would recommend their office to anyone!
