Study reports that cumulative radiation exposure from multiple CT scans during childhood could increase the risk of developing some forms of cancer later in life. Researchers studying stroke patients have found a strong association between impairments in a network of the brain involved in emotional regulation and the severity of post-stroke depression.

State-of-the-art equipment and the latest advances in imaging techniques ensure consistent, high quality images. Digital mammography plus MRI is the most clinically effective strategy for screening women carrying a genetic mutation known to increase the risk for breast cancer.

What is MRI of the breast? Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. MR imaging uses a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures.
What is MRI of the body? MR imaging uses a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures. Detailed MR images allow physicians to better evaluate parts of the boday and certain diseases that may not be assessed adequately with other imaging methods such as x-ray, ultrasound, or computed tomography (also called CT or CAT scanning). What is the difference between an Open MRI and High-Field MRI?

This company's website is very misleading. I have been trying to set up an appointment at AMIC --Hyde Park Open MRI. The website for this location says that it accepts Medicare, but it does not. They transferred me to AMIC in Merrionette Park, but they don't have an OPEN MRI. They then they tried to send me to Des Plaines, IL--30 miles from my home which accepts Medicare and has an OPEN MRI. Not worth the trouble.

I'm appreciative because I called them on a Friday around 7 pm and they had my MRI done by Saturday afternoon. My only complaint at first was there was no one there (it was totally closed) when I showed up for my appointment 15 minutes early, as they told me to, but someone came running up just before my actual appointment time. Otherwise I was happy when I left, but I wouldn't go there again -- my doctor said the resolution of the images was so low it's pretty hard for him to even tell me what's up. If you can, you should take the extra time and money to go to a place with a more powerful machine.
