Beaverton Vision World

I have pretty bad issues with dry eyes and have been working with an optometrist for a couple of years. The "fix" that they had recommended was way too expensive for me and I sought out a second opinion. Dr. Harris was very thorough in collecting my past history and had actually noted that my prior optometrist was over correcting my astigmatism (which explained why I couldn't see with my right eye even with glasses on).

He also gave me a lot of recommendations on how to improve my general eye health and my dry eyes. He answered all my questions and explained everything well. Highly recommend Dr. Harris!

I was visiting Oregon from California and had a bad eye infection. Thankfully I found Beaverton Vision World which was not far from my hotel. I called and the lady that picked up the phone was extremely helpful and was able to get me an appointment right away due to it's urgency. I believe her name was Irene she was so friendly! I met with Dr. Harris who was knowledgeable and was able to get me the prescription I needed to treat my eye infection.

Since I was traveling he gave me his cell number which came in handy since finding the medication I needed on the way back to California was not easy. I was able to contact him off hours and gave me a new prescription that was available at the pharmacy. My eye felt better in a day and was back to normal in about 4 days. Thank you so much Dr. Harris!

Beaverton Vison World was lovely, they helped me sort out my eyesight and even helped me choose my frames once it was evident I needed some glasses

I have been coming here for years and will continue for as long as possible. Everyone has great patient/customer service. Open on Saturdays and the ease of online scheduling is awesome.

I absolutely love this office. The guys at the frame counter are AMAZING at their job and 10/10 will always help you find the perfect frames for your face and style. All the Optometrists are super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. They don't give off (I'm here for the money) vibes they just genuinely want your eye health to be well and give you plenty of options. I've been going to this office for many years and will continue to go for many more to come.

The overall experience was good; However, I said it very clearly that I visited because I wanted to renew my frame prescription, and would like to use my this year's insurance for a new pair, but they included contact lens prescription still and charged $80 for it; I think the confusion came out when they asked "do you wear contacts as well?" and I said "yes". i even didn't realized contact lens prescription was included until I was charged during check out.

I have been so impressed with the experience I have had with Dr Harris. He has given me practical suggestions for my vision and to be totally honest he seems just like an ordinary person as apposed to being "better than you" like you get from some medical professionals. I have even texted him about something after having lasik and he replied to my text right away and put my mind at ease. He really seemed to care about getting my vision just the way I needed it for my lifestyle.

The Tiger and Beaverton Vision World clinics are amazing! I took my father as a new patient to the Tiger Vision World clinic. His experience was remarkable. The eye exam and the eyeglasses fulfil his expectations. Doctor Harris and staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. Because of my father's fantastic experience, I took my mother to the Beaverton Vision World clinic.

It was the same great experience that I end up buying my own eyeglasses as well. They were very helpful and treated us with respect. My parents do not speak English, so they have Spanish speaking personal. Mercedes is so wonderful; she translated for my mother while her eye exam and when choosing her eyeglasses. We are very, very happy with the whole team. In addition, they have a great selection of glasses. Thank you so much!

My boyfriend and I visited Vision World as new patients and our experience was so wonderful. The entire team was friendly, helpful, and genuine. Carla was the first to greet us and did an amazing job at making us feel so welcomed. Dr. Harris raved about how excited he was to have new patients. Lastly, we were mostly impressed with how patient Irene and Shawn were with helping us choose a new pair of frames.

We're fairly indecisive people and probably spent about an hour and a half to pick out frames (hahaha) but we were so grateful that Irene and Shawn gave honest opinions and made great recommendations. Most of the selection is on the pricier side but still stylish. I look forward to my appointment next year!

I went to Beaverton Vision World on the recommendation of my husband's colleagues as we had recently moved. I went for my yearly check-up and Dr. Harris exuded a very lackadaisical, unprofessional vibe which was off putting; it felt like he didn't have much of an interest in this line of work. (I've never had this impression from any of the other optometrists I've been to in my life, which is why it was so notable.) During the exam he made remarks about my profession that I found wildly inappropriate (discussing students having crushes on teachers) and suggested that I do certain eye exercises while doing my daily Kegels since "many women choose to do long blinks while doing their Kegels." I was shocked that an optometrist, especially a male optometrist, would discuss pelvic floor exercises in a visit with a female client.

To suggest doing long blinks during the day while doing Kegels when a simple "do a few long blinks when brushing your teeth" or "while having a moment of zen" or even "while having lunch" would do is gross and inappropriate. No one in any professional capacity has ever discussed Kegel exercises with me, nor asked about student-teacher crushes. My male colleague went to BVW a few months after my initial visit and, without knowing my experience, told me that the female Dr. Harris had made him uncomfortable as she, too, had commented about how students often have crushes on their teachers and asked if my colleague had any girls crushing on him.

We teach middle school. My colleague immediately changed optometrists. The only reason this review is not one star is that Dr Harris did provide some relief for a chronic issue. My family has moved optometrists; we now go to A New Vision and have loved the warm, caring, and professional experience there.

I have a very strong prescription: -4 & -3.50. I have a big head and I love Oakley sunglasses. My prescription is too strong, so Oakley refused to make an RX lenses for me. Beaverton Vision World offered to make me a custom non-Oakley RX lenses to fit onto an Oakley Hoolbrook Metal. It took 3 months and lots of defects, but I finally got them. I'm very happy with them. I expected issues since I'm asking them to stretch the limits of their tools to make my custom order. If you need custom lenses, this is a good place to go visit.

And I just went back for a vision exam to update my prescription. Color me even more impressed! So good.very sweet doctor who genuinely seems to enjoy her work. It was just such an all out great experience! My new benefits at my new job kicked in and I have my old benefits till the end of the year and my new ones kick in AGAIN at the beginning of the year so their office staff was super helpful in verifying what I get and when so I can get the most out of my benefits.

I have worked with quite a few of their staff members getting glasses and contacts. Gratefully I have yet to have anything but great experiences. They are also very much wanting to help so asking questions is a great thing!

I went in for a new patient exam today and honestly had a great experience! I was greeted and helped right when I walked in. The staff were all nice. Dr. Harris greeted me with a friendly hello and made me feel very welcomed. The exam went smoothly and they were patient when helping me find me a new pair of glasses. I've pushed off finding a new place since moving to Beaverton, but I'm glad I finally found a place that I can continue to go to. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for new eye care.

Letter being sent to the owner: Dear Dr. Harris, I had been a long time patient of Beaverton Vision world but due to staffing changes at your Beaverton location, I decided to take my business elsewhere due to the lack of compassion and the "you're part of our family feel" your office used to offer. My daughter and I were in need of some new frames so I thought I should give your office another try.

Upon walking into your Beaverton location today, we were not welcomed. In fact all three "gate keepers" women staff sitting at the from desk blankly looked up at us and not one person say hi, how are you, or how can we help you. As my daughter an I approached the optical section of your office, we were then asked what we were there for. We stated we were shopping for new frames. Reluctantly someone got up and came over and pulled a few trays out for us and went back to sit down behind the front desk.

We had some questions and when we did ask for help, we felt as though we were bothering your staff all the while they were discussing another person or patient in a negative way. I was appalled by their behavior and the way we were being treated that we walked out. True confirmation of why I decided to move my eye care a couple years ago. If it wasn't for your loyal patients or any patient for that matter seeking frames and/or eye care, your staff would not have jobs. That's something they should be thinking about. I work in healthcare myself and I would never treat my patients the way I was treated today in your office.

I called on a Weds and got an appt fri! They checked and confirmed my insurance. I was brought back to appt after very little paper work and right on time. The doctor was fabulous although never introduced herself and never asked if I had prior eye surgery (which I had) -? The exam was quick, thorough and concise. I went for readers. They have an excellent assortment and I was able to get custom readers (1.25, 1.5) the same day! Pricey frames but my insurance was awesome!

I left home on vacation without my glasses. I had my contacts but I don't see well at night with contacts. After browsing a few reviews for one hour lenses, I called Beaverton Vision World and spoke with Laura about getting my prescription faxed up to them to get a pair of glasses made as I was passing through Beaverton. She said they can have them done in an hour but they did not have polycarbonate lenses in stock but they have plastic that would work.

She also said that they had a 90-day re-cutting at no extra charge and they could order polycarbonate lenses and do those at no extra charge. I had my optometrist's office fax my prescription and dropped into Beaverton Vision World on my way up to destination in St. Helen's. Laura helped me pick out my frames and in an hour, I was out with a pair of glasses.

A few days later, she called and said my polycarbonate lenses were on their way to my house. The customer service at Beaverton Vision World was as excellent! Although I could have survived without my glasses on our vacation, having replacement glasses saved a lot of stress. In a few years, after I retire and move to the Pacific Northwest, if I'm close to them, I know I'll have a trusted optometry service.

This is definitely a great place. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, professional. Optometrist, dr. Harris, was busy, yet he took the time to explain and advise me.

After posting the review last month I was contacted by the staff of Beaverton Vision World and they wanted to correct the situation. Tammy was great, helpful, and very understanding of my complaints. After a short discussion we were able to come to a solution that would suit me well. They were able to switch out the lenses and provide me with a set of glasses that would work much better for me. Ideally this situation would have never happened but I can understanding staffing issues.

If you decide to use Beaverton Vision World I would suggest not getting frustrated and speaking with Tammy to correct any issues to save everyone time. She seems dedicated to providing quality service.

Recently went back here to find the right frames for me. Wait time was a bit long on a Saturday morning, but understandable, and Rommy (sp?) was friendly and helpful in getting me a pair of Prodesign frames I liked. I do want to note that one of the newer young (and good looking) girls there just seems to have an snobbish attitude, and seems impatient when working with me during two recent visits, hence minus a star. Otherwise, the experiences of coming here were great!

I had a wonderful eye doctor back in California, and have had a difficult time finding another eye clinic that I liked as much. I don't go very often to see a doctor or dentist, but when I do, I want it to be a good experience. These are people putting their hands on/in various parts of your body, and while that may be a fun Saturday night, it's not my idea of a good time inside a clinic. Dr. Harris and his team are awesomesauce, seriously.

This will be my eye place as long as I live in Oregon. Things I love: Friendly front desk They were on time and quick No hassles with insurance (which I've deal with in the past) Huge eyeglass selection Very nice setup- couches, magazines, coffee machine Dr. Harris has a wonderful approach to eye care, and tells you in plain English what he's doing Nobody tries to upsell you on anything Some of the frames are pretty expensive there, but they weren't pushy about me needing to leave with frames.

In fact, they wrote down my prescription so that I could purchases glasses online if I wanted to. I did end up buying a pair of beautiful frames there, but I've also gotten myself another pair for much cheaper online since then as well. I recently referred a friend to this place, and she was also pleasantly surprised with the caliber of the office and its team.
