Dr. Derhalli has been in private practice since 1989. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1985 and received his Doctorate from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry in 1989. While serving as a General Dentist in the military, he completed a Masters in Business Administration and then a three-year Masters of Science residency in Periodontology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

My daughter had a graft done at Periodontal Concepts last week. The staff is wonderful, the procedure was quick and they took wonderful care of her. They answered all of our questions and made sure we were ready for anything before we went home. I was very pleasantly surprised when they called this afternoon to check in on my daughter and make sure she was healing nicely. I'm very impressed with these guys!

The front desk staff is supremely professional and helpful. The associate clinical staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and prompt. Dr. Derhalli is truly a gem; he really knows his "stuff" inside and out and is flexible in providing various treatment options. It is apparent that he leads his team by example - in that he's done pioneering research, volunteers for important causes, and is still approachable, thorough and encouraging to his patients here in our community. I would never go to anyone else!

I needed to have oral surgery due to some bone loss above my upper gum line and was very anxious about the procedure. During the initial consultation Dr. Derhalli took the time to carefully explain the entire process and answer all my questions, which helped to put my mind at ease. On the day of the procedure (today) he and his entire staff did a great job of making me feel comfortable from the time I walked in the door up until I was finished.
I really appreciate Dr. Derhalli communicating with me throughout the entire procedure how things are going and when he was getting close to being done. The entire staff are all true professionals. I would highly recommend Periodontal Concepts to any friends and family. Thank you!

I recently moved here from the Midwest where I had been seen by the same periodontal practice for many years. I was feeling apprehensive about finding and establishing a relationship with a new periodontist. Dr. Derhalli and his staff are outstanding, and I left my appointment feeling confident I had found the right fit. Sherry, the office manager, went above and beyond to welcome me to the practice from my very first phone call. Dr. Derhalli was thorough with my initial examination and made sure that my experience was positive.
I really appreciate Dr. Derhalli's conservative approach to my treatment plan. All of the staff with whom I interacted are highly professional and courteous and demonstrate concern for patients as people. I highly recommend this periodontal practice!

I would give this practice 10 stars if I could. I moved to the Vancouver area from another state while I was in the process of getting a dental implant. During the year before my move, my tooth had been extracted and bone grafts had been done three times by my previous periodontist because the first two had been unsuccessful. When I arrived in this area I came to Dr. Derhalli.
He obtained my dental history from my previous periodontist and took me in as a patient to complete the implant. During the implant process we discovered that the previous bone grafts were not stable enough to hold the impact. Dr. Derhalli determined that the previous bone graft material needed to be removed and another bone graft done before we could have a successful implant.
Throughout the entire process Dr. Derhalli and his two assistants, Kacy and Yleana, explained every issue and procedure in detail as well as the required follow-up home care. The three of them carefully answered all my questions and made me feel like they had all the time in the world for me. I even received follow-up phone calls at home after procedures to ensure I was not having any problems.

I have also found their entire staff, including Teri at the front desk and Sherry the office manager, to be quite friendly and caring of me as person and not just as a patient. I would give this practice the highest recommendation possible.

Each staff member exudes kindness when they calmly and clearly go over the details of your bill, instruction and during procedure etc. The staff is warm and professional. I am typically gripping the chair in anxiety but today I felt as calm as possible during the surgery! I'm truly amazed by the staff! Thank you for making this experience such a positive one. Helping people with their teeth and making it as easy as sweet as possible! AMAZED AND GRATEFUL!

First time I have ever needed grafting for a receding gum line. The office staff were very kind and welcoming. The office was immaculate. Meeting Dr Derhalli for the first time, I felt comfortable with his knowledge and explanation of the procedure and what to expect. What was so impressive was his skill from start to finish with no pain or discomfort, even found myself drifting off.
My threshold for pain is pretty good except when it comes to my mouth. Dr Derhalli got it right the first time and when he was finished he sounded impressed with his work. For me personally that meant I had been in very good hands. The best!

UPDATE: A couple days after we first did this review the state showed up telling us about reports from this periodontal office that we were abusing my mother! Since I posted this review weeks after we went there why did it take so long if not for their revenge? They called the state as vengeance against us because we gave them a "VERY deserved" bad review!
Who ever at that office who called the state to get vengeance on us is a criminal, and we are filing a lawsuit against them! I will release the name of the person who filed the illegal false report as some as I get it from the state. ----- Original Review ----- My mom has pretty bad dementia. She is unable to mentally abide by the home regiment the tooth cleaner lady at this office asked us to give her.
She is at the stage where she refuses to do things I ask her to do. Even if I'm asking to to brush her teeth longer and better. I informed this bed lady and she did not seem happy. A couple days later we got a pleasant letter canceling the second half of her cleaning and asking us not to come back because they were not interested in having patients that were unable to do the home regiment the instructed. THEY ARE DISCRIMINATORY AGAINST THE ELDERLY, AND MENTALLY HANDICAPPED! WHAT HORRIBLE PEOPLE! In the old days people like this would get tarred, and feathered, and run out of town on a rail!

I had a gum graft done on my 6 lower front teeth by Dr. Derhalli and was very pleased with the entire procedure and result. He did a wonderful job, and he and his staff were all so nice and helpful whenever I called them up with questions (and I had a lot of questions, I'd never had a gum graft before), they made sure the whole process went as smoothly as possible for me. If I need a periodontist again, Dr. Derhalli will be my first choice, he's the best.
