Services
Magnetic Resonance Imaging provides good contrast between the different soft tissues of the body, which makes it especially useful in imaging the brain, muscles, the heart, and cancers compared with other medical imaging techniques such as CT or X-Ray. Computed Tomography is a medical imaging procedure that utilizes computer-processed X-rays to produce tomographic images or 'slices' of specific areas of the body. These cross-sectional images are used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in various medical disciplines.
A native of Norfolk, he received his bachelor's degree from Yale University and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Hecht-Leavitt completed his radiology residency at Boston University Medical Center and his fellowship in neuroradiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
All information will be kept confidential. There is an additional questionnaire to make sure that there is nothing metallic in your body that will interfere with your erxamination. A patient must be able to remain still sitting or lying down for at least 20 minutes. Certain metallic and electronic devices are not compatible with MRI equipment.
MRI is a non-invasive imaging technology that produces three dimensional detailed anatomical images. MRI scanners are particularly well suited to image the non-bony parts or soft tissues of the body. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) combines a powerful magnet with sensitive radio wave transmitting and receiving antennas and powerful computers to produce cross sectional images of the human body without the use of x-rays.

I've had many an MRI taken at this particular location of MRI & CT Diagnostics. Most recently, I had shoulder images with contrast completed. From scheduling to billing, every staff member I've had to interact with has been pleasant and helpful. About 3 days after receiving my order, a woman called to offer me the first available appointment.
She did my pre-screening information for MRI over the phone to save me some time in office. Dr. Camden did my initial contrast injection and xrays. He was SUPER informative (though a fast talker so I recommend paying close attention). He asked me many times through my procedure how I was feeling and has great bedside manner. The tech who assisted me in the MRI room was also very kind and made sure I was as comfortable as possible through the scan.
This took quite a while and it was nice to have someone so considerate, especially when you're already in a great deal of pain. I always recommend MRI & CT to any friends or family that need to have imaging done.

Horrible! Showed up at 8:15 tonight for my 8:30 appointment whole place is empty. Finally mentioned at 8:45 that I had to get up at 4 am and how I thought since I had arrived early I might have gotten in earlier. That's when they discovered a problem on my questionnaire and started asking me about a heart monitor I had removed 10 yrs earlier. I explained that I had had MRIs done by them at another office in the past 3 yrs.
They start trying to find my previous MRI notes and I am getting stressed by this point and the medication I had taken to help me relax because I'm claustrophobic was wearing off and I was getting so frustrated and I finally said I give up I guess I will be in pain forever and walked out at 9:15. Absolutely ridiculous! They had my paperwork for the whole 6 weeks I had been waiting for the MRI but wait till tonight to bring it up? Worst service ever!

Terrible customer service. I had a referral from my doctor sent over in April and left FIVE messages that did not get returned. I had used them years ago and wanted to use them again, but was really let down this time. I had to go elsewhere after a week of trying to get an appointment with them. I have severe pain in my foot I needed addressed PROMPTLY with the MRI my doctor reccomended.
It is a good thing I did not need emergency services. Due to their poor response and call back time, I had to go elsewhere for care. I highly reccomend Sentara as they called me back same day and were quick to get me on the schedule and accommodate my work schedule so I did not have to miss work. I get a call TODAY almost TWO MONTHS after numerous messages left and I told her I already had it done elsewhere because no one would call me back.
The only response I get is "so you want me to cancel this?". No apology for her companies lack of response and care for their potential customers. Terrible customer care and service.

I was referred here by my doctor for a ct scan. The day before my appointment someone from the billing department called my phone multiple times until I answered. Never leaving a message. Back to back phone calls like a debt collector would. When I answered I informed the lady I was at work and would have to call her back with my insurance information.
She was annoyed and stated that she gets off at 4:30 (it was 3:30 during the call). She was so rude and said "I guess" when I asked if I can call her back when I get off at 4. Very long story short she later called me back to tell me my insurance was pending approval and that I could cancel my appointment or reschedule it. I have never had a ct done before so I didn't understand why I'd be cancelling or rescheduling.
She was again nasty during the entire conversation and said she wasn't going to go back and forth with me when I was asking questions and told her I wanted to speak with someone else. She said if I wanted my scan done I had to pay them $500 upfront. This place sounds like they are up to some shady stuff. Needless to say I cancelled my appointment with them and would suggest others stay away from this place.

This is a new and additional location for MRI CT Diagnotics. It's so new that on my visit much of the signage was temporary. It was rather hard to find. The Clearfield Avenue location is conveniently located a short distance south of Virginia Beach Boulevard at the corner of Cleveland Street. It appears to be a new building, shared with other large medical practices.
Parking is plentiful and is in a nice treed setting. They are certainly patient friendly. My doctors office called to schedule a stat CatScan while I was in the examination room. MRI CT told my nurse that I should come straight there. That's impressive! Once I located them, I walked into a brand spanking new and spacious waiting room. I was greeted by smiling faces who were expecting my arrival.
I did have to wait. But that was understandable, considering the fact that they were working me in. The CatScan technician was enormously helpful and friendly. The equipment was new. I'm not new to CatScans. But if I were I would have been fine because the entire process was explained, along with the timing of the results. The one thing I would have changed is the fact that they don't have a Patient Portal.
I like to see testing results myself, sometimes before the doctor who placed the order. After all, one does have to fret and worry, madly googling the medical terms to figure out if they are saying something bad. I would highly recommend this location of MRI CT Diagnostics. It is warm and welcoming compared to a sterile hospital atmosphere. Thank you for expanding.

Doctor sent my husband and son here to get an x-ray of broken finger of my son's because they take walk-ins. They denied walk-in, and made appointment for next day 2pm. They never recorded appointment. I took day off work to meet the 2pm appointment. Had to talk to 3 different people who all told me different things. Now they say they take walk-ins. They need to figure out what their procedures are and not give the run around to broken fingers. Not much care given on their part.

Would never recommend anyone to come here. I had an arthrogram done (which required an injection of dye into my hip joint) which is a painful process. The next morning I got a call and was informed I needed to come in and do the process all over again because they "needed clearer images". When I told them I wanted to talk to my referring doctor first they finally told me that they had messed up and done the MRI on the wrong hip.
They tried to play it off as if it was just unclear images and had I not asked questions probably would have billed my insurance again. The staff was unwilling to accommodate my schedule even though they were at fault and caused me to have to take two days off of work. They sent the wrong results to my doctor two times before I finally had to have my doctor stay on the line with them to get what they needed. Do not have any work done by this place.

Just left after having a brain MRI and the service was phenomenal! I had a reaction to the contrast dye, with my whole face feeling like it was clogged up and I could only breathe through my mouth and I had a mold rash. The doctor, technian and nurse took such good care of me that I wasn't scared for one second. I wish I could remember their names so that I could give them a proper "thank you". I would highly recommend this location.
