All over-payments will be refunded once all claims have been processed and fully resolved by insurance company(ies). Our Billing department is happy to assist with initiating the refund request process. Please call our main number, (239) 334-7000, and let the operator know your call is regarding a refund and that you would like to speak with the appropriate Billing department personnel. Upon acknowledgement by our Billing department, the account in question will be reviewed in detail prior to processing the refund.
At Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida, we accept most major insurance carriers, and we frequently treat injured employees who are on Workers' Compensation. We do not accept Medicaid or Medipass unless the patient was seen in the ER at a time one of our physicians was on call. Within one to two business days prior to your appointment, an Insurance Verification Specialist will verify your insurance eligibility, co-payment, deductible, and any referral requirements.We make every attempt to obtain authorization prior to your visit, but many insurance plans require an authorization from the patient's primary care physician or referring provider.

Dr. Springer and his staff were very pleasant and their kindness and knowledge put me at ease. I was expecting the worse with my hip, but Dr. Springer explain my condition and addressed all my concerns. Very skeptical of most orthopedic doctors bad experiences with my mom. Can't express how his team changed my mind! Would recommend him and his staff!

While everyone here is always very nice, they need to seriously reconsider the quantity of patients they see. I've never spent more than 30-60 seconds with a doctor, and I believe my care was severely compromised. Appointments are stacked, and no single patient is ever given the actual time they need to communicate their issues, or even have their chart reviewed.
I like doing PT here, but I wont see a specialist here again until they actually take the time to see their patients. The waiting room times also vary between 30-90 minutes. I've had appointments take as long as 2.5 hours, with only 60 seconds of doctor time.

When calling Dr. Guzman's office, I always received a message to leave my information for a call back. They never called me back. Dr. Guzman kept putting bandaids (shots) in my knee, running up bills, without solving my problem. I went elsewhere and found it so refreshing to have my new surgeons receptionist answer the phone when I call. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to this place.

Was referred here in the end of 2020 and did the mri and got results. Was told by Dr. Springer that I would be referred to therapy there. Waited weeks and never heard back. So I called and they told me they stopped taking my insurance. Just found out that they are taking it again. I called to schedule and was told they aren't taking new patients. I'm not new so It would be fine.
For the scheduler to deny me because I wasn't seen for 1 year! They are considering the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2022 to be two years. they just want money or insurance that will pay out no questions asked.

Dr Stone and his physicians assistant, Abigail, are top-notch. Very caring individuals who take the time you need with them. My husband had an infected knee after a replacement and Dr Stone Treated the infection successfully with a spacer prosthesis that is still functioning perfectly after one year. We highly recommend this practice!

The office staff is very efficient and helpful. Everything was explained to me in detail by the doctor and his staff. The surgical folder they give you is very informative and helpful. By following it's guide, it helped me to have a complete and speedy recovery. Dr. Stone is an outstanding surgeon. My recovery has been amazing and has given me a positive outlook on life and being able to do the things I have been wanting to do. Dr. Stone will be the only doctor that operates on my other knee.

I've now experienced multiple visits to Orthopedic Specialists for treatment and physical therapy related to a fall that broke one kneecap and injured an elbow/shoulder. I've experienced doctor visits which begin with an x-ray to give the doctor a progress report on status of healing. And, I've experienced physical therapy visits to their onsite PT department.
I think I'm in a "non-standard" patient category as I arrive by way of disability transportation, and, I am extremely chemically sensitive to anything and everything and medical facilities are most often extremely difficult to navigate. I usually suffer many days after exposure to a medical facility due to staff wearing added fragrance and using heavily fragranced laundry products. NOT SO with Orthopedic Specialists.
Not only did I receive highly detailed care from the medical staff from the doctor down to billing clerks, I received genuine care from staff that was proactive in observing a patient's needs and not waiting to be asked, but stepping up and asking if they could help. What an incredible difference in experience that has grievously been lost (missplaced?) in today's hardened world. A day spent at Orthopedic Specialists is a day of blessing for heart, soul, and body!

Dr. Fran is the best doctor I've ever had. She is an incredible diagnostician and has a fabulous bedside manner. She truly cares for the whole person and always shares all the information you need including cause, treatment and recovery options. I highly recommend her! She is a very special person along with being an incredibly talented surgeon!
