The physicians are excellent. They are very knowledgeable, attentive to detail and I never feel rushed. They are very patient and their entire affect is one of concern and I always feel that when I am with them that they are solely focused, no pun intended, on me.l feel very fortunate that I have them as my physicians. The staff is terrific.

Dr. Thomas has treated my complicated eyes for over 2 years. He has helped me keep my vision which has been scary for me at times and very challenging. He is very kind and takes extra care and time during every appointment. Dr. Thomas very knowledgeable of eye diseases and treatments. Centennial staff are great.

Two of my daughters arrived at Tennessee Retinal with me in tow one recent Saturday morning. I have to tell you that I'm not a fan of doctors, hospitals, medical procedures, or medicines. That's why the two daughters. They were going to make sure that this reviewer didn't flake out on an appointment. How I made it this far in life is a question I often ask myself.
I never give myself an answer. Maybe that's the trick. Just get on with life. I'll have to admit that I was a bit nervous meeting the specialist. I've heard stories of surgeries, lasers, and eye patches. I mean, other than a pirate, who looks cool in an eye patch? Even Columbo didn't wear one. He just shoved a glass eye into his socket.
My head was spinning, not to mention my tree branch eye. All went well with the pre-doctor tests and paperwork. My nervousness (fear) began to ease. Everyone made me feel comfortable and reassured that I'd be ok. Then he came in. Dr. Recchia had entered the room. After pleasantries were exchanged he got down to work. He asked questions, squirted stuff, then proceeded to dig around in the eye.
He poked and prodded, hmmmed a bit, and then announced his findings. GUILTY for being an idiot by not wearing safety glasses! He really didn't say that, but I wouldn't have blamed him if he had. My situation wasn't going to require surgery, lasers, or anything of the sort. Just some antibiotic goop 4 times a day. The cloudiness in the eye should clear after awhile. I'm fine to resume normal activities.
Which in my case is drinking beer and smoking cigars. At least near term activities. Long term, I'm free to wander the open roads of America and write these stale reviews. Quick Tip: When you get nervous about doctor appointments, try to lose your mind in how the pyramids were built. That always works for me. I bet those Egyptians had a lot of eye injuries chipping away on those blocks of stone. Maybe that's why they walked funny. I think the Bangles were on to something.

Loved Dr. Thomas - he was personable and knowledgeable, took the time to explain and confirm comprehension. The front office staff were obviously preoccupied and ultimately lacking, which makes me question if future scheduling is worth the wait and inconsideration. Initially waited over 20 minutes just to be checked in. Upon check out, front office was absent and no dark shades were provided after eye dilation, which is negligent and dangerous.
Some back of the house staff were also great and timely, but many were overheard shooting the breeze and loitering in empty rooms, which again makes me question the priority of patient care in this establishment. Overall, if Dr. Thomas didn't leave such an amazing and lasting impression, I would not consider future scheduling or recommend this office to others. He is the singular redeeming factor due to the general lack of professionalism, especially in the front of house.

Horrible service, complete lack of communication, no appropriate follow up information. Rudest staff you can imagine and no one returns calls. A detached retina is a horrible emergency and tough post op recovery with alot of uncertainty. One would assume someone on staff would attempt to make it easier, accommodate patient concerns or at the very least not be completely rude. Go anywhere else you can find if you're having issues. My husband suffered needlessly because of staff.

This place is absolutely terrible. My husband has had a horrible experience. The office staff is very rude is disrespectful. He was even physically hurt during one of the exams by the examiner. Several complaints were made to the office supervisor and nothing was ever done about it. Now he has been discharged as a patient without anyone ever notifying him.
And allegations have been made against him that are not true. They also talked about my husband to other patients which is a violation. We've informed the doctor who originally referred us about how bad the place treats people and how rude they are. He was never able to get done what he needed done because of everyone there. I do not recommend this place at all. Go to Retina Consultants instead.

I was referred to TN Retina after an extensive injury to my eye. Over the period of 14 months I have had 4 surgeries and I was pleased with each and every experience. The doctors have been very professional and never seemed too busy to answer my questions or explain my treatment plans. The front desk staff has been so very friendly and treated me with great respect. The nurses were friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this practice to family and friends.

I have retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative retina disease, so this seemed a good place to see a dr. One symptom that is hard to manage is dry eyes. I called. The lady that answered sounded like she just woke up. I asked for appointment and told her I needed help with dry eyes. Her response in a flat voice, "we don't treat dry eyes." I told her I have a retina disease.
She asked no questions, just said in the same flat voice, "well, we don't treat dry eyes." Least caring or professional person I've talked with in a while. I'll move on.

I went to see Dr. Sonkin. I did not like him at all. He was very rough during my examination and very pushy on scheduling surgery. I asked him how much I was going to be billed for after insurance and he commented with its not about the money. I understand that he has the money, it is a outpatient surgery and its not a big deal to him, but someone has to pay the bill and anything with the word surgery is a big deal to me.
I canceled my appointment and took my business to Loden Vision. I really hate to give a bad review to Tennessee Retna, but Dr. Sonkin was awful. I was told that if you go to Tennessee Retna, go see Dr. O.

I've had bad eye health since I contracted a blood disease when I was 10 years old. Last year I woke up blind in my right eye with a detached retina. My eye Doctor Immediately sent me to Tennessee Retina PC for emergency treatment. Dr. Reickstein is my surgeon at TN Retina and I feel very fortunate to have him as my doctor. After a second unexpected surgery for a macular hole, my eyesight is incredibly 30/20 in that eye. I'm getting ready to have surgery on the other eye for issues that started a couple of months ago.
I have full confidence in Dr. Reichstein that my vision will be restored. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to wait time. I went this past week and had an exceptionally long wait before I finally got to see my doctor.
