Love That Peanut! was created by Dr. Cascya Charlot who is a Harvard trained board certified pediatric and adult allergist. My daughter was born in the same year that the LEAP findings were shared with the allergy and immunology community. I struggled with the question of how to best introduce peanuts into the diet of an infant.

I would stay far away from this practice. I gave them a chance for over a year with routine allergy shots, but was met with so many obstacles and I didn't feel like they prioritized my health. Furthermore, there was inconsistent billing, long wait times, and the staff was often dismissive. I finally switched to a different allergy provider in BK and I'm so happy I did.

1 Star - If you have a traditional 9-5 work schedule, I suggest you find another doctor because the scheduling rules at this place are pretty inflexible. The best thing for a set 9-5 career professional, is to have a set allergy appointment week to week, so you're leaving and returning to the office the same time weekly - this creates predictably for yourself and coworkers that makes sure everyone respects your obligation. including you.
I was able to consistently get weekly allergy shots for about 3 months because I made appointments up to 3 weeks out so I could have a consistent appointment time. This place recently changed their policy. Now you can't book an appointment more than 1 week out. I see a couple of different doctors - some I've seen for years at this point, none of them have this policy.
All have their calendars open for 2-4 weeks out. Even my hair stylist has an open calendar for 4 weeks out. This new policy makes it so that week to week it's impossible to secure the same appointment slot and you're essentially dancing on the phone or at the front desk each week trying to find a different appointment slot for your next shot. I'm not sure who this policy works for, but it definitely isn't for traditional 9-5 workers.
It's 2021, flexibility is king. Find an allergist that understands this. Outside of the archaic scheduling rules, this place is great. But it can't get more than a 1 star rating, if you can't even make an appointment to get in. then the medical service is moot. EDITED: 5 stars - My brief experience above was an example of a few can ruining it for many by misusing the flexible appointment policy.
The Dr and her office have updated their policy to be both flexible and hold parties accountable to appointments set. And I can continue with my flexible appointment scheduling. Thank you

Dr. Charlot is a very sincere and compassionate doctor. Coming in to her office, I was not sure what was the underlying cause behind a few allergy symptoms and Dr. Charlot spent time with me, explaining what theories could be behind what I was experiencing. She came up with a treatment plan and as of now, I have not had any hives! The office itself took many precautionary measures to ensure the safety of all patients during this pandemic.
There were kiosks for individuals to check in and it scans all necessary identification so you can immediately meet with Dr. Charlot right after. The appointment took no longer than forty minutes. Overall, Dr. Charlot is a very caring individual and I am glad I made the drive from Queens to Brooklyn to see her! She genuinely wants to help you and it is apparent in her demeanor. If I have any more allergy symptoms, I will definitely return!

I have been seen at this office on several occasions for a variety of allergy related issues and have always left with more information and the right course of treatment. Dr. Charlot and her staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and always professional. I have always been able to get an appointment even in an emergency and have never waited more than 15 minutes to be seen. I would highly recommend this office for anyone of any age on need of an allergist.

They gave us a lot of time and explained everything very thoroughly to me and my son (who was the patient). They gave a lot of good self-care recommendations which are really helping him to keep his symptoms manageable. Other allergists that I've been to are quick to give shots and I didn't want to go that route just yet. Highly recommended.
