I have been so pleased with everyone from the surgeon to the office staff. NW surgical center is a well oiled machine and has made my surgery recovery so much easier. I didnt have to worry about paper work for returning to work, they just handled everything. I am so thankful for such an amazing team.

My husband Dennis had a very bad hernia fixed by Dr Kevin Modese. He did a great job and even called Dennis personally that evening at home to make sure everything was okay. Never had a Dr do that. I can't say enough good things about Dr Modese.

Dr. Vo is amazing. He's straight to the point, quick and thorough. Easy to do an appointment on my lunch and not have to take extra time off. After my consult I was able to have surgery within roughly a week. As stated by other reviewers, the front desk rarely answers the phone and sometimes doesn't return messages, you have to call again. But highly recommend Dr. Vo.

I went in to have two sebaceous cysts removed. When I went back in to have my sutures taken out I was the first appointment of the day, the receptionist was still turning on lights. When they finally took me into my appointment they were 45 minutes late. Almost I month later I get a bill from a pathology clinic, they sent in some tissue samples, without talking to me first.

I was never given results from this procedure and when I called their office, I asked to talk to the operator to direct my call but they don't have an operator. You must leave a message and they will call you at their earliest convenience.

The surgeon who performed an emergency gallbladder removal for my wife, and the Physician's Assistant who followed up with us, are two of the most wonderful healthcare professionals we've ever worked with. Everyone else in this office ranks on the exact opposite end of the spectrum. The nurse in charge of sending medical paperwork to our insurance company took over 3 weeks to do so, even after telling me she'd done it weeks ago.

The receptionists are unhelpful, the schedulers give you a hard time when you try to schedule follow-up appointments (despite being told you can schedule follow-ups for any reason 90 days post-op) and the attitudes of basically anyone you speak with over the phone could peel paint off of a wall. Obviously you don't get much of a choice when selecting emergency surgeons, but if you're looking to schedule a surgery take the advice in other reviews and head to McKenzie Willamette or OHSU.

Horrible front staff team (Marissa and Alecia are just awful). They rarely answer the phone and messages go unreturned. If the front staff team and billing department (as they submitted my insurance prematurely and, subsequently, coverage for my surgery denied) are so imcompotent, why in the hell would I have surgery there? Be cautious.be very, very cautious. I am off to a different surgeon's office! Good luck to you all.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cusati at NW Surgical Specialists for about 8 months. I believe he is a great surgeon. I believe I owe my life to him. He came to the ER when I reported on Memorial Day weekend and operated on my stomach for hours. He has spent a lot of time with me and my family explaining my treatment. He has a wonderful bedside manner. He returns calls.

I rarely have all-around good experiences like I've had with NWSS. Their scheduler/front window people are helpful and friendly, the surgery scheduler person I had was also very helpful and compassionate, and even the business office person (Nancy, I believe) is quite helpful and kind. The whole place just runs so well. Other places tend to have either good staff or good doctors but not both, but NWSS seems to excel at everything.

A special commendation: Dr. Vo is fantastic! He does have that doctor-y aloofness but unlike a whole lot of doctors, he listened to me and didn't just try to push his credentials in my face. He answered my many technical questions (I've warned doctors and nurses that I ask TONS of questions, and Dr. Vo didn't get annoyed) and never gave me the impression that he didn't take me or my concerns seriously.

My surgery went very well. I watched the same operation on Youtube beforehand (which I don't recommend!) and that patient had more than twice as many incisions, all of which were much larger than the ones Dr. Vo made. The anesthesiologist told me that if he needed colorectal surgery, Dr. Vo is the one he'd go to. You won't find many reviews for him yet because he's relatively new to the area but trust me, the guy is really good at what he does.

I can't speak for the experiences of others, but my experience with NWSS has been as good as they reasonably get. The wait time is a bit longer than other places I've been to but it isn't bad. I'd rather wait than have a bad surgeon.
