I had extensive liposuction from Dr. Meltzer 18 years ago in Portland, OR. My results are still beautiful and healed up very well and have maintained their shape, I had 360 lipo on both my thighs which was extensive since they were so abnormally large, I also had my upper arms done at the same time. I'm recovering from breast cancer surgery and preparing for fat grafting and my current plastic surgeon complimented the work I had done, you can't even tell that I had surgery. I have no ridges or indentations which can be quite common with this type of surgery especially on the front thighs. Thanks Dr. Toby!

I have nothing but kind words to say regarding Dr Meltzer and his staff. I first met Dr Meltzer at a gender conference in my area. It wasn't a consultation. It was just a private meet and greet with he and his staff. I wasn't sure how I was going to finance the operation but his staff helped me figure out how to get things started with my insurance company and ultimately they paid for almost all of it.

There were some after surgery "in hospital stay" issues with the insurance company not wanting to pay for most of it, and Dr Meltzer went to bat for me and got the insurance company to pay for my hospital stay. It took a while for the nerves to grow back, but I can say I have complete sensation now. My primary caregiver used to be an OBGYN and says Dr Meltzer has done an excellent job, and to date I've only had the first stage.

Now that things have healed, I'll be going back for the second stage. Dr Meltzer's staff has always been kind and considerate to me, and when I've had an emergency occur, I've always been able to quickly get an answer.

I had my consultation with Dr. Toby Meltzer last month for gender affirmation surgery. Specifically FTM top surgery. As expected, I was very excited since this is a life-changing surgery for myself and other trans and non-binary folks. I ended up waiting in the room for at least 30 minutes, but I did not mind since I figured the person before me had a lot of questions like I did.

When he came into the room Dr. Meltzer seemed like he was in a rush, and was not informative at all regarding the surgery process, as a matter of fact, his exact words to me were "from experience people who get this surgery do extensive research, so you probably know more than I do about this surgery". It might just be a preference of mine, but I would like my surgeon to instill some amount of confidence in me prior to the surgery since I will be UNCONSCIOUS.

They also asked me when I was booking the consult what insurance I had, and I replied United Healthcare, and then they asked me to pay the 100 dollar consultation fee. After the "consultation" I was sent to the scheduling person who informed me that they were not in contract with United, and handed me a list of fees well over $10,000. In short, I paid 100 dollars for a consultation that was not in the slightest bit helpful or informative, and they knew that I was going to waste my money since they were not in contract with United. I left the building feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. I definitely felt like they just wanted my money, and I hope this review will help someone save theirs.

Dr. Meltzer and Dr Ley are both amazing. They take time to really help you understand and have all of your questions answered. The entire staff are amazing and so helpful and accommodating. They all make the experience livable and less stressful.

I absolutely love Dr. Meltzer and his staff. They helped me out with everything and were very friendly. I got top surgery from him coming up on 2 years on Dec 21st. He fit me right into the schedule, exactly when I wanted to get my surgery done. He did an amazing job on my chest, I get a lot of compliments on it and a lot of guys jealous of how fast/much my scars have faded. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Meltzer for anyone looking to get top surgery!

Lets just say Dr. LEY Is amazing. So nice friendly and kind. Does an amzing work and makes sure you are happy with your work. I had a few cosmetic procedures to my face with her and I can say I look and feel amazing. My bottom surgery was great. Of course some pain but she makes sure your comfortable and I love my results and they way it looks and feels.

Definitely recommend her. She is very honest and upfront about everything with you before surgery. Dr. Meltzer is really nice and friendly I got to meet him and see him in my recovery. Debbie is amazing so sweet and friendly. Definitely recommend them Sally

So, today is my 21st "birthday, " since Dr. Meltzer performed vaginoplasty surgery on me Thursday, May 14, 1998. At the time he was in Portland Oregon and did the surgeries at a hospital that (I think) no longer exists. In March, 1999 I went back for a labiaplasty, which gave me a very nice petals shape. My experience both at the hospital and then at the surgery suite for the labiaplasty 10 months later were absolutely top-notch. Dr. Meltzer probably still does the two-stage surgery and it is highly recommended.

He and the anesthetist he used back then, Dr. Haynes, were both very nice and very professional. It was one of the best experiences of my life. How am I doing now? Fantastic! Dr. Meltzer is a genius and I have "sensation, " and yes, that's the big "O!"

Dr. Meltzer and his protege Dr. Ley were wonderful in working with my husband's transition. They are definitely the group you want to go to for gender reassignment surgery. I can't recommend them enough.

I called to dr. metzler's office I was very disrespected I was hung up on three times staff Hannah and Adriana were rude they'll tell me to hold on and they'll deliberately hang up I ask to speak to a supervisor and Hannah didn't want to pass me over to one I was verbally reprimanded. I would not recommend anyone to go to dr. Meltzers office cuz his staff is horrible so that means if you are tolerating your staff like that they're running client hell away.

And that is very unhealthy especially being transgender and him being one of the only people in the office. And why are you charging $100 for a consultation and demanding $100 upfront not everybody used credit card some of us use cash. Otherwise you cannot make an appointment and he doesn't do Skype for out of patient that are out of state.
