Admin is definitely not managing accordingly. Whoever is in charge of billing needs to be replaced immediately. Second time going down there with an EOB in hand from my insurance company, BC/BS Federal paid the bill. I paid my copay. Their billing department is not managed properly.

This was one of the worst experience ever. If at all possible don't go to Beaufort Memorial more than 2 times for the same thing. I am not quite sure why i have chest pain, but I have had chest pains a few times in the past. My mom and dad died early of heart disease. So, when I feel pain I get nervous. Well today I went to the emergency room because my blood pressure was low and I felt pain and light headiness.

One of the nurses said "you have been here before chest pains your not having a heart attack. What did they tell you the last time you were here." I was so upset what ever happens happens. I left I pray to the good Lord nothing happens I left with her word as the hospitals nurse it wasn't a heart attack. I understand there are sick people who need attention but it frightens me when my chest hurts. its sad people are so insensitive to other.

This is not a free service for me. I pay good money to have health insurance. its not my fault when pain occurs. I would like to thank the triage nurse who came out to see what the problem was and why I was leaving with tears in my eyes.

This facility is a place that no one should ever have to experience. I arrived via ambulance right before 6:00 pm. The EMS was given a room number for me to be wheeled into but it was occupied. So I was left in the hallway near the nurse's station. I was recovering from a broken back when I began experiencing frightening symptoms- extreme pain and numbness of my legs and feet.

When I broke my back initially the pain was immense but whatever was going on now was amplified enormously. Someone came quickly to confirm my identity and to put a tag around my wrist. After that an hour had transpired and I asked a passing nurse what was going on. She did a bit of checking and said well you have only been here for 90 minutes and left.

So what did that mean? I hadn't waited long to be attended to? No one could administer some pain meds while I suffered needlessly? I asked for water but was denied. Another hour went by. My husband couldn't come to see me because I was still in the fricking hallway listening to the nurses chat about ridiculous nonsensical things like the flavor of skittles.

I heard slurping of drinks, crinkling of snack bags and endless chuckles. Not exactly what I wanted to hear or experience as I lay suffering just 10 feet away. Another hour ticked by, and I was beginning to get a bit delirious from the pain. I remember quietly sobbing and praying for me to be anywhere but there. After four hours and still in the hallway a doctor appeared.

I tried my best to be as accurate as I could about my condition but frankly I don't remember much of the conversation. I did tell him about the extreme pain I was in and about 15 minutes later I was administered a shot with a pain killer more potent than morphine. Not two minutes later a staff person appeared ready to take me to get a CT scan. Seriously?

I had enough wits about me to tell her that I just got a jab and it would take a little bit of time to kick in. I was basically immobile and could never move myself without having some substantial relief and a great deal of assistance. The meds finally began working. I was taken to the imaging center dizzy and nauseous but happy I was going somewhere, anywhere.

I was returned to the hallway and minutes later was wheeled into x-ray. Drugged up, I waited for the doc to come. Someone finally gave me some water after numerous requests. Hour six, the doc arrived to fill me in on the scans. He seemed caring and concerned but he was constantly distracted by other calls so I felt extremely neglected and alone. During our consult he disappeared promising to be right back.

I waited and waited. Hour seven a nurse spotted me, came over and said you have been in this hallway my entire shift, what is going on? I filled her in saying that the last thing the doc said before going MIA was that if I couldn't walk, I was to be admitted. I think her name was Linda, an RN. I prefer to call her my angel as she worked magic. Got a walker, saw me off to the bathroom, and immediately went to work on my discharge papers.

Fifteen minutes later, I was with my husband driving home at 3 am in the morning. During my BMH visit I had never felt more invisible or more neglected. The ER staff would walk by me constantly without a hint of recognition or acknowledgement that I was there. I was a human being, alone, afraid, and in terrible pain. In a place that exists to take good care of visiting patients with empathy, sensitivity and concern BMH failed miserably.

Worst experience ever waiting time was ridiculous for it's only be 3 people in lobby, but hey it's a hospital long wait was expected. Whats really disturbing is Most of the staff is racist and especially the one nurse JUSTINE. Worst attitude a person could have like who tf even are you? Her attitude towards the world is a reflection of how she feels about herself pathetic! Such a disgrace to the whole medical field and should be working in a prison.

I went to the ER and to my surprise there was maybe 2 people in there. The staff was extremely friendly and quick to get me to the back to see a doctor. I expected there to be a kind wait but honestly there wasn't. The nurses and doctors were patient, kind and thorough. I felt heard as they listened to my concerns and valued because they didn't just say "ooo it could be.".

They checked for everything pretty much and since we are still In times of covid they did a covid test as well as about 20 others to make sure they didn't miss anything. The parking is a little sketchy by the ER but otherwise it was a great hospital for emergencies.

Do not send your loved ones here. They are impossible to work with. They told my husband incorrect information before running his tests causing him to get false negatives and needing to start all over with a more competent doctor. They screwed up the way they billed, telling him he owed them over $1000 when he is active duty military and threatened to send him to collections while we went in circles for months.

Then they told him he was responsible for getting a referral for every test they ran and it wasn't their problem. They couldn't get him a follow up for 2 months and then canceled a week before only to push him out further! Awful care all around!

If at all possible, never get a blood or glucose test here. Waited 1 3/4 hour for my blood test in general office building. Not the most skilled tech since had to return in a few minutes with blood gushing out my tape (she never put a band aid or compression wrap on). Pity the poor pregnant women who were hungry and tired and had to wait this amount of time for each glucose test.

We arrived to the ER at 6pm on a Sunday and 12 hours later was in the OR. The whole staff was phenomenal at this hospital. They were very competent and as busy as they were they were efficient. It's clean. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Dr. Plzak of Coastal Carolina Urology is a phenomenal physician. My husband had a 5mm kidney stone that decided to drop during the Thanksgiving flight in from NJ.

I took him to the ER Sunday at 6pm was in surgery Monday morning to start treatment. Dr. Plzak was able to break the stones apart without incident. His office girl Sharika went over and beyond the call of duty to make sure she got pre-authorizations as we are here out of state. The whole process from the ER to the second surgery Wednesday went way smoother than I expected! I wanted to call Marla the administrator but lost her # - but if you need a hospital this is the one you want.

Just needed to stop in here for a quick EKG. When I say quick I mean quick. I was incredibly surprised on how fast we were in and out. From the time we walked in to the time we walked out was all of 20 minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful taking us through the process swiftly and painlessly. There are a couple different buildings that all make up Beaufort Memorial. Make sure ahead of time exactly which building you need to avoid some frustration.

Our experience in the ER was excellent, as the nurses were efficient and compassonate. We appreciated the efficiency and kindness of? Dr Reynor. The admitting MD was both disinterested and unprofessional. He spent less than 3 minutes with us. My brother was transferred to the ICU. Again, the nurses were excellent. The hospitalist had very poor bedside skills, dispassionate and uninformed about my brother's condition. Overall, I would commend your nursing staff but your MDs could use some training in compassionate care. I hope that the administration follows up on this recommendation.

My sister was brought to this hospital on Sunday, 3/5/17. I can't speak to her treatment in the hospital it self since I am in Pennsylvania. However, I spoke with Nurse Mandy over the phone in the ICU while my sister was in her care. She was very professional and provided my sister's status in detail. She was friendly and easy to talk to and understood a family member's concern.

When I called back the next day, she remembered me and was very helpful in connecting me to my sister who was moved out of ICU. Again, I'm not sure what my sister may say about her experience at BMH since she was the patient but for my part Kudos to Nurse Mandy. I was very happy that she answered my call.

I had a brief stay at this hospital a few months back and I will have to say my overall visit was okay. However, my experience on the Tower Four floor was not great. Most of the nurses were very professional, caring and courteous. However, I must say there were a few that were not pleasant and not very helpful. On the second night of my stay I experienced some very unpleasant issues.

The night shift unit secretary was not courteous when I had to ring the button a couple of times. I was in disbelief at such unprofessionalism. There was also a nurse who passed by my door as I was waiting to go on my nightly exercise walk and she failed to ask me if I needed anything. Then, after the nurse's assistant began walking with me down the hall, my assigned nurse came by and told the nurse's assistant that she needed to stop walking with me and go somewhere else.

I am assuming that she was told by the head nurse to do so. Again, I was in total disbelief. The next day I informed my doctor Dr. Mansker of my unpleasant experience. I also informed Mrs. Brown who is the advocate for the hospital. Hopefully, this very unpleasant experience will not ever happen to me again and I certainly hope not to another patient.

I am writing today in the hope that at the very minimum at least awareness is made. I came into the ER on the 17th of January with heart problems. During my stay I was prescribed 2 medications. I came back into the ER on the 19th with worsening problems (as per discharge instructions) when I arrived the triage nurse (Heather N. according to her badge) was very rude and hateful.

She asked me if I had been taking the 2 prescribed medications and I explained to her that I hadn't had the money to purchase them yet. She rolled her eyes and went on to tell me that the medications weren't even expensive and that she didn't see why I hadn't gotten them. This is the first issue. She doesn't know my financial situation and it shouldn't affect the way I was treated by her or the other nursing staff.

When I was taken back to a seat she was talking loud enough for me to hear her in the back row of chairs. Telling the other members of the nursing staff that I could wait as I hadn't followed the doctors' orders from my previous visit. The nurse she said that to then said it to the next nurse (an older woman in a white jacket). Then I sat there for over an hour before anyone even spoke to me.

It was the doctor. He was very nice and caring, he ran blood tests and had x-rays done and assured me that I would be okay. This was the only kind or compassionate, even civil treatment I received in the ER. While this isn't the only time I have or have seen patients mistreated in the ER this was especially troubling. Then to find out from my family that the same triage nurse that was hateful and rude, had gone out to the main desk and complained to the nurse/reception there that I hadn't taken the prescribed medicine and that this was "ridiculous"; again loud enough for them to hear across the lobby.

This is not only unacceptable but unprofessional and very disappointing. When someone has to come into the hospital scared already then to be treated poorly. I can't believe it at this day in age. Thank you for your time.

Had my c section here and Dr. Benson was incredible! Everyone in that OB office is awesome. They are helpful and patient. They also actually follow up and make you feel like you matter. When I moved from Florida I went to north Florida obgyn and let me say they left much to be desired. So when I transferred 8 months into my pregnancy to here I was scared.

But after my first visit with Dr. Benson and meeting the wonderful front desk and nurses I was so at ease! Anyhow, I had my son last week and even the labor and delivery department was fantastic. My entire experience was so fantastic and low stress. Would recommend 100000x over!

How can an office lose Doctor's orders? Not know why you're there? And then send you home with a spot on your breast only to say it's Probably Benign and come back in 6 months? Worst Hospital ever!

Whatever you do, don't use a doctor that sends you to Beaufort Memorial for x-rays or anything else. The procedure isn't the problem. ITs Worse. It is the billing. I've been trying to fix a mistake they made by not transcribing my insurance number correctly. This happened 8 months ago. They keep trying to bill me for something my insurance paid and says I do not owe.

They have now sent my bill to a claims company that doesn't have anything to do with the issue and cannot correct it. BMH says they are not going to report it - yet they did.

I had my second daughter at this hospital and it was not a good experience. She was born there on November 19, 1992 and the nurse that was working in labor and delivery should not be a nurse. She looked like a man, had no bedside manner and could have killed me and my daughter by pushing on my stomach when I was trying to give birth. I sure hope this lady is no longer there. One plus though, they did give me a great seafood dinner after my daughter was born.
