As orthopedic surgeons, we are also trained in various orthopedic subspecialties including treatment of the hand, foot, children's orthopedic disorders, sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery, arthritis and total joint replacements, orthopedic oncology, scoliosis and spinal surgery and fracture care. I would recommend Dr. Wells and trust him with any orthopedic matters you may have. He is kinds, he listens and actually wants to hear how you\'re feeling instead of just seeing you as another numbe.

What a wonderful and trustworthy doctor Dr. Wells is. From the moment he said "I can fix that", he had me. I have had my procedure and from all accounts, it looks like it is going to be completely successful. It turned out to be a more complicated procedure than expected, but he FIXED it! I am very pleased. His staff is very nice and make you feel welcomed and appreciated.

Doctor Duncan Wells and his staff were very professional and knowledgeable. Doctor Wells was direct with his approach and diagnosis regarding my concerns. He immediately put me at ease and I was confident regarding his recommendations with my care and follow-up visit. No wait time, extremely focused and patient centered. I thank you and your staff for taking out the time to see me. I appreciate your hard work and dedication. Have a wonderful week! Your new patient, Lucinda Laws

I do NOT recommend Atlas Orthopaedics at all! I have had 3 visits with Dr. Wells and have been severely disappointed every time. If all you're looking for are some expensive Cortisone shots, then maybe he is the doctor for you. Otherwise, go anywhere else. Dr. Wells was the most condescending, lazy, and whiny doctor I have ever met. The MRI results he ordered me to get were sent to him before my follow up appointment.
He didn't even bother looking at them until I was in the room. His nurse pulled up the one on my shoulder (the main source of my pain and reason for the visit), and when he came in, he started whining and jumping on her about the laptop in the room not working like he wanted and asking her why she had my shoulder pulled up instead of my elbow. When I reminded him that it WAS my shoulder that I was there for, he seemed surprised.
After going out of the room for less than a minute - presumably to look at the MRI report for the first time on another laptop, he came back in and said, "So. Tendonitis.". I asked him about the TEAR in my rotator cuff, which the MRI report also indicated and he seemed like he didn't even read that part. He said that I needed physical therapy for 6 weeks and gave no recommendation as to where.
Before abruptly ending my appointment, he said, "Oh, let me see if I concur with the MRI doctor." and literally ran out of the room, only to run right back in within seconds, and say, "Yep, small tear in rotator cuff." Keep in mind that at my first appointment with him before the MRI, he pushed around on my shoulder and said that he definitely did not think it was anything wrong with my rotator cuff.
At every visit, his demeanor was short, arrogant (to me and his staff), and condescending to anything that I brought up to him. I rarely leave reviews and I even called his office THREE times to try to speak to them about my experience and give them the opportunity to discuss it before I posted a review online. I was told every time that the office manager would call me back.
No one ever did. I am now with another orthopedic doctor right up the road at Northside Cherokee and could not be happier. Don't be fooled by all of the suspicious positive reviews for Atlas.

I was referred to Dr. Duncan Wells by a co-worker. She always spoke of high regard for him and his staff. I heard her but I gave it some time. Finally I scheduled an appointment with him, mind you he is about an hour from home minus traffic. I am elated to say that my experience was a delight. Caring for humanity in full swing from top to bottom, him and his staff.
He actually took the time to listen and understand me as a human being, as to how my reasons for coming to see him affected me and my life. His response to my concerns made my heart smile because society is sleeping so hard, we have forgotten that by taken care of each other we are actually taking care of ourselves. We are one! This was my first visit, I am looking forward to the ones to come. Thank you so much Dr. Wells and staff, you'll are the best.

I am so happy I was able to find a practice like Atlas to help me with my hip and knee problems. The staff was very polite and welcoming. Dr. Wells and his nurse were wonderful as well. He took his time listening to my concerns and answered all of my questions. I didn't feel rush at all. I highly recommend him and his awesome staff.

I had seen Dr. Wells over 11 years ago and had a wonderful experience. I also had to be seen this past week for my back. The office is absolutely beautiful! I was greeted so warmly by Connie at the front desk! I only waited a moment to be taken back to a room with Nicole for an assessment. Dr. Wells promptly came in where he was very attentive and professional as I explained how I was feeling. I never felt rushed and felt very confident leaving with a solid plan to my treatment. I would recommend anyone to see Dr. Wells at Atlas Orthopedic and his amazing staff!
