Southern Colorado Clinic is seeking a Full-time Family Nurse Practitioner with active Colorado license, DEA and prescriptive authority.

The Pediatric Department provides care year round to patients ages birth to nineteen years of age. The physician of the pediatric department are well experienced and have great knowledge to treat childhood illnesses and disorders. The physicians also see well children for examinations and advise parents on the prevention of injuries and care appropriate for the age of the child.

The Southern Colorado clinic needs an overhaul. Beautiful facility, my recent experiences tells me it stops there. Very poor communication I.e. Rx orders never discussed, notice from Walgreens to pickup. Found my test result on portal that allowed me to guess why it was prescribed. No one returned my call for over 2 weeks. Began to have serious side effects, again could not get anyone to speak to me. Called to say I went off the medication, no call.

The saga goes on, order meds with red box warnings that require the provider to let you know, no such thing happened and I was told if I don't want to take it don't. This is not responsive to patient concerns. During Covid shut down I was told by two different practitioners, not wearing masks that "masks don't work". Just recently I tested positive for Covid-19 their response to wanting to discuss antivirals to prevent hospitalization or death was to only allow a go between conversation with an assistant.

I get they are busy, but when some is sick and in a high risk group they might want direct phone contact. I was told the practitioner didn't know much about it, so unlikely to prescribe. I already new quite a bit, but they would not engage in any discussion. No ideas re other resources, told to go to hospital if it gets worse. Later I got a call back from the assistant telling me the practitioner reviewed the factsheet on the medication and it was contraindicated, because of other medications I was taking.

When I told them I was no longer taking one of them the assistant said she would ask, never heard back. I asked for the link or pdf re contraindications, response no, "you can look it up yourself". I got very frustrated and was crying asking for a hint as to where I could get the info. She did tell me the website of the drug manufacture. I found it.

The medications I was or may have been taking were not contraindicated, they recommended stopping one and monitoring the other. I emailed the practitioner and asked for reconsideration. It has been 5 days, no response. Well outside of the window for the medication to be useful. Fortunately or unfortunately I ended up in the emergency room, the doctor there after ruling pub more serious complications ordered the antiviral.

I felt much better within 2 days. Well on my way to recovery. I did speak to the health department, they were not surprised. They will continue to reach out to educate the SSC staff. I do not think it will help. For sure if you have Covid-19 find someone else immediately. There is treatment out there. Make sure provider knows the options and is responsive. This is still a deadly virus.

Overall very impressed with the doctor he was very easy to talk to you and explained everything that he was doing and I like that should ever have to visit there you'll have a pleasant experience like I did I highly recommend them if you need their services

I was scared of what happened to me. I had a subdural hemorrhage and Dr Cavalli put me at ease with everything. She takes time to explain everything to her patients and I am not alone when I say I love her.so do many other patients that I know. Dont ever leave Pueblo because Pueblo will lose a great doctor and Pueblo can't afford that. God bless you Dr Cavalli. Jeanette Hardesty

Providers listen and are responsive, respectful & professional. It is very refreshing to feel confidence in my provider once again. The front office could use a little tune-up, as they overlooked several important details & made several mistakes, but they were polite and responsive, and were probably handling a multitude of duties simultaneously, so I've seen worse. Overall a very positive impression.

Excellent experience. Dr. Caughfield took the time to explain everything he was doing during the testing so I knew exactly what to expect and why it was being done. He had the report to my physician the same day! And the front desk staff member was patient and kind even though I arrived a few minutes late. Very good experience overall.

I got a little tough love from Dr. Bowman on my last visit. At my age, I need some firm language at times. I really appreciate straight talk and John is the right doctor for me. A veteran and a good doctor. highly recommended.
