Simply stated, Environmental Medicine is the study of the interaction between mankind and the environment. More specifically, environmental medicine focuses on the adverse reactions experienced by an individual upon exposure to something in their diet or environment. The substances to which an individual may react are typically found in our air, food, and water and commonly found in our homes, workplace and school environments.
Exposures to these substances may adversely affect one or more organ systems of susceptible individuals and have a negative cumulative effect over one's lifetime.

Twentieth century living brings with it major advancements in technology, medicine and science, which have produced incredible changes that have been beneficial, but there is a down side to this rapid technological advancement. An area of concern to a growing body of physicians and others in the country is the incredible and unchecked introduction of thousands of chemicals into our daily lives.
Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is somewhat of a medical phenomena, which is poorly understood, controversial and difficult to provide curative treatment. One of the best definitions of MCS was based on the consensus opinion of a multidisciplinary group of physicians and scientists involved in research and/or treatment of MCS (published in the Archives of Environmental Health in 1999).
Environmental Medicine physicians order routine blood tests if they have not been done recently. Allergy testing is usually recommended. Most patients with chemical sensitivities have allergies they don't recognize, especially food allergies. Patients with MCS can reduce their level of sensitivity by lowering" the total load" from other allergens and stressors.

Dr Buscher is a breath of fresh air. He takes the time to listen well to each person he sees. He looks at the whole person. He has creative and wise solutions. It is evident that he has been in practice for many years. He takes a preventative approach. When a member of our household recently had Covid his care and expertise really shined. We are so thankful to know this wonderful doctor.

Absolutely outstanding. Within minutes of meeting him, it was immediately clear to me that Dr. Buscher is the best doctor I've ever had. His professionalism, generosity, experience, expertise, perspective and empathy are far beyond any other medical practitioner I have consulted, either in the United States or overseas. Dr. Buscher understands how systems in the body all contribute to complex, chronic medical conditions. He has a fantastic depth of knowledge across areas of allergy and immunology. If I could give him ten stars I would. Thank you, Dr. Buscher!

I have searched high and low, far and near to find a Dr that would address subtle yet disruptive issues I was having.someone that would ask better questions, offer better testing, and had a mind of their own (not just a Dr that was limited by insurance agencies). I hit so many brick walls with every other Dr. However, Dr Buscher is different! He is brilliant!
He specializes in environmental medicine. What does that mean? It means he is going to look at potential problems such as hormonal imbalances, mold allergies, toxin sensitivities - things that may actually help you get better! Finally!
