Council Bluffs Foot & Ankle - Edward Prikaszczikow DPM Plantar fasciitis (or heel pain) is commonly traced to an inflammation on the bottom of the foot. Our practice can evaluate arch pain, and may prescribe customized shoe inserts called orthoses to help alleviate the pain. EPAT improves your body's regenerative potential, rather than further damaging an area that has degenerated because of poor blood flow, tissue injury, overuse or weakness.

Bunions are misaligned big toe joints that can become swollen and tender, causing the first joint of the big toe to slant outward, and the second joint to angle toward the other toes.

People with diabetes are at higher risk for a variety of foot health problems. A diabetic foot exam checks people with diabetes for these problems, which include infection, injury, and bone abnormalities. Nerve damage, known as neuropathy, and poor circulation (blood flow) are the most common causes of diabetic foot problems.
Diagnostic ultrasound is a special, non-ionizing form of imaging used to visualize, in real time, injuries and other pathology of tendons, ligaments, muscles and bones of the foot and ankle. It is also used to help guide therapeutic injections and aspirations of joints, muscles, tendons and nerves.
Digital radiography (DR) is a modern method of obtaining X-ray images that uses digital electronic sensors and a digital capturing device in place of traditional photographic film. This allows X-ray images to be obtained almost instantly. The processing speed of DR that allows radiology technicians to produce an image for immediate review is its greatest advantage over more traditional X-ray systems.
You don't have to live with pain! With conventional treatments like RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevate), cortisone, physical therapy, and surgery, it often feels like you're on a never-ending hamster wheel of pain, temporary relief, pain. All the while, your out-of-pocket costs add up and you're refraining from doing what you love.

First visit ok, my phone # was provided by referral, but the check-in paperwork was not sent to me ahead of appt. Dr Burton was professional, efficient, and made me feel I had a voice to continue a treatment plan that was acceptable to me.

Everyone was very nice, ladies at the front desk, nurses and of course Dr. Shumway. My husband set in a chair 24/7 for several years until he was in so much pain he couldn't hardly walk. He had his ankle replaced and he is doing great. He is 81 years old. How lucky are we? We are very lucky and very happy.

Dr Shumway has been so kind and gentle. I went to CB Foot & Ankle Clinic for pain in my feet. Turned out to be another of the signs of arthritis raising its ugly head. Dr. Shumway gave me a topical analgesic for immediate pain and measured me for orthotic inserts for my shoes. Thank you to all the doctors and staff at the Council Bluffs Foot & Ankle Clinic for helping me get on my feet again.

Ever had a bad experience with a DR? You will at this office! This was on our 3rd visit! The first two appts were not great either, but this was unbelievable! The receptionist (who had been conversing and laughing with me) came out from behind her desk, wanting to take my 3 yo sons brand new toy to take the batteries out. Some other random woman comes from who knows where and tells me to "Get your kids quiet because I can't hear on the phone!" The Dr, who is in hearing and visual distance of me (6ft tops) tells said phone woman "Tell her where the playground is!" while pointing at me, then turned and walked away once I called him out on it!

He wouldn't even confront me, or repeat the comment to my face. He disappeared to the back. Had my boys been overly loud, or unruley- I would understand. But that was absolutely NOT the case! My kids are 11 (the patient and he was on his phone with zero volume), 8 & 3. You expect some noise from 3 boys, but I hardly consider the volume from them so loud the entire office needed to cause this amount of drama! Absolutely Disgusted! Don't accept children as patients if you can't handle kids talking!

Im going to give a three star review. Only because the Doctor was so good andvthe front office manager helped with insurance. Ive only called twice both times I would hv walked away if my entire transaction HAD to funneled thru the receptionist. I called to see if my inserts were done. I was put on hold 10-15 seconds to "check". Immediately they were done.

I started to ask a question. The response was I don't know where they are at, the office managers at lunch and I swamped. Im sure she wanted to hang up. I heard: I don't care about yr order Its not my fault Its a mad house up front Don't ask whatever silly question you have -- IM very busy SIR Both times I was doing simple fact finding.

Both times I felt angry I wanted to say something. She cut me off before I could ask anything. IMHO this lady shouldn't be near a telephone let alone TALK to clients. Is it let's anger yr customer's day AGAIN? My mission First time: I wanted to place an order. Second time: I wanted to pick up the orthodics or see when I could get them?
