I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Stone over the last decade. My first child was born at another hospital with a different doctor and the difference was night and day! My second pregnancy was smoother and labor and delivery was much easier with Dr Stone. He has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've ever had and always listens to any of my concerns. The nurses are always friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful too

Charged me 50 dollars that my insurance would not pay. They said it was a consultation charge. The only thing he consulted with me on was menopause. Is this not part of being an ob/gyn. They said it was because of obama care, i told them i was not on obama care they said because of obama care they have to charge for consultations.

Considering this OBGYN caters to Women in Medicaid, and private insurance companies as well, it is VERY evident who is prioritized more. I wait 2 hours AFTER my appointment time to be seen. The ultrasound techs and nurses are sweet. The receptionists, were very rude and blatantly talked badly about the colored patients in the waiting room and while being seen.
I had Dr. Goolsby. He should find another profession. Probably the rudest, misogynistic doctor I've ever had. I'll let him know my ideas and he turns me down and says he refuses to listen because of his beliefs. I ask for any recommendations and he refuses to give me any because it's against his beliefs. How unfortunate. As a dr he should be WILLING to help!
He lets his beliefs get caught in the way of everything and let's women to fend for themselves. He's extremely creepy and really needs to be reviewed. I'm not the only person who's had issues with this OBGYN

I suffered a miscarriage back in April due to large fibroids. I was kind of in between OBs at the time. My previous OB admitted that she didn't have much experience with such a severe case so I was referred to a specialist at UAB. However, I had the miscarriage before I could make it to that appointment. So, my mother found Dr. Goolsby immediately after.
He was very kind and straight to the point with a plan of action to rid me of this issue. The plan was to monitor my hcg, start lupron injections to shrink the fibroids, and then have an open myomectomy to remove them. My levels finally depleted at the beginning of July so yay progress. So now I'm clear to start the injections. Side note, while going to the office every Tuesday for a blood draw with Nurse Tameka, she would constantly congratulate on my pregnancy. Hello!
I had a miscarriage ma'am. This continued to happen every Tuesday. Maybe I don't have a memorable face but did she even bother to read my chart. Anyway, I didn't get the okay for the injection until the end of July. The process was for them to request it from the pharmacy, then the pharmacy calls to ask my permission to have it sent to my doctors office, and then I receive the injection. Well, at least that's what happened in July.
After getting the first one, I was told to call back in 3 weeks to repeat the process. I do exactly that and they say "Okay, we got you". 10 days go by and nothing. I finally call and Nurse Tameka tells me I'm supposed to call the pharmacy myself. Well, that's not what happened in July, plus I spoke with you 10 days ago and you never mentioned that.
She puts me on hold for 10 minutes and comes back and says "Dr. Goolsby will call you before closing. That was August 30th. It's been completely silent since then. THIS IS HORRIBLE! The injections have serious side effects and no one bothered to call after the first as a courtesy to check on me. Mind you I'm in constant pain every day with these fibroids. I don't know what happened here but this is unacceptable.

I saw Dr Sharp for a while. He seemed nice at first, but made several inappropriate comments during routine procedures that seemed. slimy. I kept telling myself he meant well and maybe he didn't mean it in a slimy/creepy way.? I finally had to get a laparoscopic procedure done, and he cut me open on the wrong side, which ended up causing him to make more cuts than necessary, and I had a much longer recovery time as a result.
When I asked him about what happened afterward, he played it off like he meant to do it (after we had discussed at length beforehand exactly what and how he was going to do it). I ultimately switched to Dr. Stone, and when I went to see him, he was outright rude and made me feel stupid for even coming in in the first place. I never went back.

The NP here was wonderful, but once I had to see a doctor (dr stone) he was cold, rude, And his bedside manner is downright disgusting. I was diagnosed with post partum anxiety and ptsd by his NP. This man called me into his office and used an "oil changing" analogy on me to try to tell me that he wasn't a mental health professional. (Duh). When I said I understood and that I was seeing a psychiatrist as well, he dangled my prescriptions in front of me and then snatched them away stating that if I wasn't going to listen to him then he wouldn't even give me my anxiety medication.
He treated me like crap, mocked me, belittled me, and he has absolutely no sympathy for the post partum woman. He's right; he's not a mental health professional. But his main patients are postpartum women and he should have more empathy for the toll that can take on a woman's mind. Not just her body. Because of this doctor, I have taken several steps back with battling my ptsd. It was already very severe in clinical settings and now it's worse than ever. I would not recommend anyone see this cold & heartless doctor.
