Been going to this office my whole life with very little issue BUT the fact that I have to call 30+ times a day to get a hold of someone is ridiculous. What doctors office doesn't have a hold line or a voice-mail? Would really like this fixed, people don't have all day to call an office over and over again waiting for someone to pick up when they're sick, expecting or awaiting test results. Please fix this.

I'll miss Kathy. She was a nice NP. You have to call early or prepare not to be able to reach this practice until the following day. I learned a hard lesson from here. If you have any type of non-cancerous growth, you absolutely need to insist on a recheck before you allow them to do surgery, especially if they make you wait months for it. I was fortunate in that my body healed itself both times I was advised to have surgery, for two separate growths.
The second time (different growth), I wasn't told I could heal without surgery so I had it done, only to learn after the fact that the growth had gone away on it's own but I was still operated on anyway. Huge loss of money, even with insurance, risk to my health, time taken off from work. There was no apology, just sweeping it under the rug and nothing I could do about it.
It at least taught me to listen to my gut instinct and always check with insurance and the practice ahead of time for total out of pocket costs for any procedure, and to never have cyst/polyp removal surgery without a repeat scan. It doesn't matter how nice a doctor/NP acts, what matters is that they do what's in the best interest of the patient. They failed me, sadly.

The doctors are great. My wife and I trust them and are grateful to Dr. Harmon, in particular, for his patient and genuine caring attitude. But as we all know, you spend only 10% of your time with the doctor. The other 90% of your experience is in the office, or waiting nervously by the phone. And Broome OBGYN seems not to care at all about this part of their care.
It's almost like it was an afterthought. Yes, what other reviewers said is true: the phones are busy almost all day -- like, an actual busy tone, no answering machine, no way to leave a message, you just keep calling back until you finally reach someone -- but that's not the worst part. When someone does answer the phone, you're often treated with suspicion or annoyance, even if you speak to them in a quiet and respectful tone.
If I feel this way as the father, I can't imagine how a nervous mother might feel, wondering if the person on the other end of the phone will deem their question or request to be worthy of attention. A patient should not have to beg or plead for these things. But let's not blame the staff. We all know that when something is this broken it's a result of poor organization and leadership.
Someone up the food chain has not created the conditions for their front office to succeed. When staff members are this frustrated, it's because they've been pushed to the edge by overwork, poorly managed schedules & staffing, and lack of support. You will likely receive great care from your doctor at Broome OBGYN. But I can't guarantee you'll be able to reach them by phone at critical moments, or relay important messages, or deal with urgent and frightening questions about your baby's health or your billing.

The doctor: Dr. Samantha Morison is one of the best OBGYN's I've had. She's very patient and knowledgeable. Always calm even when you might be worried sick. My only complaint is she is always so busy and overbooked that it's really hard to get all your questions addressed during your appointment. She's always running in and out of the door. She's is super nice though.
The sonogram technicians: I had two different technicians. Both very sweet and knowledgeable. For baby pictures though one was more thorough and diligent at getting a good sonogram shot. The administrative staff: The administrative staff leaves something to be desired. Getting someone on the phone is a nightmare (plan for all day). If you call with a question for billing; you might as well forget about it. They say they'll look into it and call you back, but you never get a call back until you pester them again. They aren't rude, but they aren't chipper either.

I have no complaints about the doctors, the office staff on the other hand are almost always rude! I've been told one thing I call back because it was not followed through and I'm told another thing. it's a complete unorganized mess it's almost like no one communicates with each other. Also not to mention it's almost impossible to even get someone on the phone. I've gone in to get paper work before and had to leave because no one could find my file or any information.

I have a good friend that her daughter goes there. These people should not be allowed to practice. They are uncaring about there patients. She has been waiting for 3 days to hear her results of a serious situation and hasn't heard yet! They should have gotten the results only a few hours after taking her blood. She has called and left messages with no response back. This is disgusting that a doctors office is that uncaring about the emotional and physical welfare of their patients.
