I recently went to see a doctor at their Concord office for cystic acne. The visit itself was frustrating, with the doctor pushing Accutane/spironolactone and dismissing other potential solutions. My entire visit with her took about 10 minutes, and I left without any idea of how to proceed if I wasn't willing to take oral medication. A week later, I check my billing statement and find that they billed 551$ for an initial visit, which is insane given that on average, dermatology initial visits in MA are 150-200$. I won't be returning to APDerm and recommend that others looking for acne care go elsewhere.

AP derm sucks as a practice and I would NEVER recommend to anyone. They are not organized whatsoever and have no urgency. On multiple occasions on telehealth I was left waiting for over an hour. In person too I was also left waiting for a while. The killer is the wait wasn't even worth it because my appointment would be a max of ten minutes. They would take one look, send in my prescription and leave.
Not worth it at all. My acne did not get any better as they did not advise me on how to use the medication and did advise me on a regular skin care routine while on the medication. While the staff is nice, they are just so unhelpful and it never really feels they are "doing" anything to help. Overall this bedraggled and decrepit building they call a "dermatology practice" is not worth it at all. I urge you all to Save your money and your time with these disorganized people and go somewhere else.

The appointment processing/admin support for the AP Derm Ayer, MA location was terrible. We booked the appointment via AP Derm's portal and were given an appointment with one of their nurse practitioners for today, 12/30/2021. The NP's name appeared on their portal under our healthcare insurance. We received a voice mail message three hours before the appointment, telling us that the NP is NOT ("not yet") covered under our insurance, so we would have to reschedule or self-pay, and we should call them.
When I called them, their admin person, Emily, referred me to Billing to get an estimate. Billing referred me back to Emily, saying that I needed to obtain the actual service in order for Billing to give me an estimate. Emily then tells me that she can't give me a service description, as "it could be anything." I told her I just wanted a ballpark estimate for a self-pay office visit with a NP (any other in-office recommended procedure could always be declined).
She said it was not their office policy to do this. She said we would find out the self-pay amount AFTER the visit. How is this even remotely reasonable? I need my daughter to be seen today, so now I have to accept whatever out-of-pocket fee they throw at me, AFTER the visit. They put me between a rock and a hard place. I find this "policy" completely unprofessional, and I find Emily to be unprofessional.

This place is a complete joke. We saw two different doctors who immediately recommended Accutane within the first 5 minutes of seeing my son for cystic acne. The second physician, Dr. Connelly didn't even look at my son's skin to see how it had progressed. His words were "that's the beauty of being a good dermatologist, you don't need to look at it to know." Wow.
Just wow. My son has anxiety and depression yet they continued to push Accutane and brushed off my concerns. Now I see why - in other complaints Accutane allows them to bill the crap out of people for follow up services. The only thing that we hadn't tried is Differin, so we bought some and low and behold it cleared up his severe acne! I got billed nearly 300 hundred dollars for this condescending a. to not look at my son's skin.
I have tried to nicely lodge complaints but have been given the run around several times. If you call the direct number to Westford it goes straight to a main call center where they have no clue what to do. When I do get transferred to Westford, no one knows at all what is going on and I have to repeat the story over and over. Office "manager" or whatever she is - Sarah- never calls back. Act nice to your face and then ignore you without apology. Today, I finally got angry so they put me on hold for 25 minutes- STELLAR

Went for a consult and possible procedure in Watertown. I gave them my Insurance info and my health history. I was told that the Dr I was to see does the procedure that I required. on the phone. When he came in he was cheery and nice until he told me he doesn't do the procedure. He suggested I call the Franklin office. Called the Franklin office and same.
Once I tell them that My insurance covers this 100% as I have a rider, the Dr does not do the procedure. They suggested I call another office and the same happened. Everything is ok until I mention the insurance. So I never was able to get an appointment for the procedure. I called my insurance provider and they told me that absolutely they will cover the procedure 100%.
I spoke to someone in the main office and she was appalled. She works for the dermatology company. I am now talking to the and filing with HHS and the Attorney General's office. This is a terrible practice to do this to people. I would not waste my time going to this practice.

My daughter was seen in the Marlborough office on June 21, 2021. It is now June 29, 2021 and we are still waiting on a call back regarding an alternative prescription as the medicine prescribed is not covered by my insurance company. Numerous calls to the office and I just keep getting the run around. They appear to be unorganized and there is no sense of urgency to get issues resolved.

The people at the Adult & Pediatric Dermatology were very friendly, efficient in the in-processing of a new patient and Dr. Watson was straight forward during the assessment. They were kind enough to numb the area for me and keep me centered during the process. I left feeling a lot better than when I arrived. Recommend them highly.

I went in with what I felt was squamous cell carcinoma on my ear and was told after an extremely quick exam that it was nothing but an age spot. ( I JUST turned 50!) I have a family history of skin cancer and my father had the exact same issue on his ear and it was malignant and he needed to have it surgically removed. even with this information and with my repeated request to have the liason biopsied, Dr. Watson was very flippant and refused to acknowledge my concerns. I was advised by his nurse to get a 2nd opinion. I Do NOT recommend Dr. Watson.

I'm so surprised to see so many unsatisfied reviews about AP Derm. I have been going to AP Derm for several years and always have very knowledgeable and caring providers, nurses and staff. My children, husband and I have all had very good experiences, high level treatment, professional service and consultations. I believe they price fairly and are within market ranges. I would recommend them to any of my friends/family.

Went to their office in Concord NH to see Dr Sands about a couple little marks I was concerned about. He was a nice guy and his assistant was fantastic! We sent a couple samples to be checked and he was going to call in a couple days with the results which he did. One of the issues required another appointment so we made one. A couple days later the scheduler called and wanted move up the appt after I had already moved around my work schedule to do this.
She then called again a few days later, apparently Dr Sands couple keep the appointment so she moved me to another doctor a couple days later which now forced me to take off another day. By now I'm getting a little annoyed with how they do business. Next issue, I get the statement for the appointment emailed. I thought what they charged was a bit high but I paid it.
The had do e a good job after all. Then a week or so later I get another bill for even more more money, FOR THE SAME APPT! So for a 25 minute appointment they billed my insurance $2300 of which I was responsible for $930! And I have good insurance. I called their billing Dept and this girl answers, I can barely hear her it sounded like I was on speaker but turns out it was her headset.
She gave me the run around on the 2nd bill plus I couldn't understand a word she said. You'd think with what they charge patients they could afford a decent phone. These people charge way too much and I will never go there again. I'll go to another dermatologist to take care of it. I would suggest you do the same!

I took the day off from work and had to yank my child out of day care for this appointment. Although Dr. Watson seemed quite thorough in his examination of my son's issue, while I was in the middle of verifying what he was telling me, he rushed out the door before I was quite clear on all he said, essentially cutting me off at the quick. Mind you, I work in a fast-paced environment where quick communication is key, but Dr. Watson basically high-tailed it out of the room before I could fully understand what was needed to treat my son's condition.
His assistant seemed less than startled, and indeed shot me a sympathetic look. She tried her level best to fill me in on the specifics, but of course, not being the actual doctor (who we paid good time and money to see), there was only so much information she could provide. I would have left a single star, but the office staff is stellar and if I was rating just them, I would give them all 5 stars. This review is really regarding Dr. Watson, who if he had not been thorough, I would have given 1 star.

I was lucky enough to have grabbed a New Patient appointment with Dr Hochberg at AP Derm when she was listed on the app ZocDoc (she's not anymore). I had been a patient at a few of their other locations, but never had a satisfactory relationship with any of the doctors in their practice until now. I have never met a more thorough doctor. I'm convinced she's a genius.
I never have to remind her about my issues, I KNOW she won't let me leave without a solution, she has a wonderful personality, her nurses are great, she also does Botox (!), is insanely intelligent, and a gem of a dermatologist. If you have the chance to become a patient of Dr Hochberg, don't pass it up! She's committed to helping her patients skin (and self-worth).

The office put me on accutane, but they will drain you for every cent they can get from you. I asked about a bump I had, they told me to see another doctor, and billed me for an extra $100 for a "long" visit. When I called billing, the lady was extremely rude and condescending in her explanation that I ended up saying never mind, thank you, and hanging up.
I will be here for the remaining course of my medication, but apparently from reviews they have terrible office culture around. In addition to paying +$300 every visit. Also, they set appointments for 7:30 AM then tell you to get lab work, but the building lab doesn't open till 8:30 AM.

After initially hearing back from a staff member, Tiffany N, from APD, who feigned sincere concern, but was unable to locate my records, I replied with the necessary information to review my records, however, I didn't receive a reply, only silence. I Yelped about a Sculptra application recommended by Dr. Goos that hardened into multiple large cement nodules around my eyes and remained clearly evident for over a year.
I was never forewarned about this possibility, only the promise that this would improve my appearance. This procedure was a perfect example of a beauty treatment gone seriously wrong at a cost of $500. Dr. Goos should have known that Sculptra was never intended to be used around the eyes. When I went in to show Dr. Goos the damage he caused, he basically threw up his hands and said the best he could do was to excise them, while acknowledging such interventions would leave scars and no refund! I continue to anticipate hearing from Dr. Goos' office - probably foolishly. Be forewarned, that Dr. Goos should not be licensed to practice dermatology.

Condescending and horrid behavior is a pre-requisite to be hired in this place. The appointment made for consult with possibility of treatment, was scheduled only for consult, so when the staff miscommunicated arrival times, Cecilia at this office decided to take one for the team and insult me in front of all her staff, after having me wait for 30 minutes. Then another 40 minutes later the doctor tells me he wont have time to do the treatment. Horrendous service.

My immediate family includes Harvard trained physicians. I'm NOT impressed at all by Adult and Pediatric Dermatology. I sat in the waiting room for 30+ minutes, full waiting room, and standing room only. There was no music, no audible TV to entertain. They luckily had a water cooler because it was so hot and humid in there. One nice lady had to sit in the kid play section since there were no chairs left.
They were over-booked, poor scheduling? They were running behind, and I almost walked out unsure if I'd attempt to reschedule. They over charge for simple processes, they are way over market value for some items while other services were average. Maybe the area (Concord, MA)?. they think everyone can pay excess for services and expect people to have disposable income?
No one elects to waste money or over pay. They rushed my appt and then instead of getting what my insurance covered, they tried to up-sell me on topicals that (coincidentally) were sold 'in office.' Only gave me samples after I said I didn't want to purchase until I read/researched rating and results. Tried to set me up with cosmetic options that also were not covered by insurance. Find another place if you can unless you absolutely must go here, per insurance referral.

If I could give a zero star I would. Every interaction with this office (Westford) was horrible. The doc (Katalin Kovalszki) was visibly angry when I asked about the cost of the procedure as if I was wasting her valuable time. But the real fun began after I paid my bill, and I found out that they believed that I hadn't paid for an office visit over 10 years ago. They applied my current payment towards the old bill (which I dispute ever happened) and put me into collections. Wonderful treatment of a patient.

I brought my child here three times for the same issue. Three different dr's all with different opinions to what seemed minor issues. First two suggestions made problems worse with expensive medicines Last suggestion was serious antibiotics which we declined. Found new dr in different practice who prescribed topical cream that cleared issue quickly. 2 of three dr's also very short with us. I would not recommend

I rated one star not because of the office staff but because of Dr. Muz. He spent 30 seconds with me, walked out, and when he came back because I insisted that he look at an area he said, "yeah--we should watch that" and walked out. Umm--he must be rich if he can make hundreds of dollars for 30 seconds
