Hopefully they have corrected there after hours phones service for the hospital and updated there doctors rosters to accuracy. This review was a 1 star prior to the hospital calling me and going over my concerns for myself and others trying to contact there doctors after hours. I have always received attentive service face to face at the hospital.
Staff always friendly. It is there after hours messaging board which had me in shock. Thank to the staff when I gave birth in 2020 through the pandemic. Great service. Thank you to the pre-operation staff and post operation staff for tending to me so well in March of 2022.

I am a retired nurse and I was totally impressed with the are I received at Portneuf. The nursing staff gave 110%. Even though they were very busy. The nursing staff was amazing both on the floor and in the ER. The only complaint I have is the horrible coffee. Maybe it was an incentive to not drink coffee that would probably not be a healthy choice at the time. I thought the meals were wonderful and the choice of meals was very good.

I had hip replacement surgery in December and my care was fantastic. Dr. Martin was very helpful in the months leading up to the surgery in helping me pursue all of the possible treatment options. All of the staff I encountered at Portneuf were courteous and knowledgeable. I would recommend Dr. Martin and PMC to anyone needing orthopedic care.

They cared for me so well when it came to my child and I. The nurse Ian I had really stood out above it all because of his constant support physically and emotionally during my labor and child birth. To top it off I have never had a hospital do a follow up call to ensure that I am doing okay! I loved every second of their care!

The emergency department was great. Everyone took great care of me in addressing my concerns and bringing down my blood pressure and assuring me that there were no underlying problems with other parts of my body. I was assured that my problems were attended to and went home able to care for myself. Thanks to the ER team.

We were especially impressed with the day nurse that took care of Joan. She was very proficient and very concerned about Joan's care and health and wishes of the family. We also enjoyed the care of the ER team when Joan arrived at the hospital. They were right there on the spot as we arrived and helped Joan through her pain and very high blood pressure. The Very professional and also proficient. The doctor explained her condition very well to us

On March 25, 2018 my wife and I were in transit from Moab, UT to Golden, BC, Canada when my wife started experiencing severe abdominal pains. We went to the nearest hospital, which was Portneuf Medical Center. Upon admission the doctor diagnosed her with suspected appendicitis and conducted blood work and a CT scan. Approximately 3-4 hours later the doctor told us that she had an inflamed bowel and that the reason for the inflammation was a mystery to them; her bowel was not obstructed.
She was immediately discharged with directions to take anti-inflammatories and pain medication; the doctor stated the pain would subside as the inflammation receded. We resumed our trip home to Canada, and the next day my wife's pain continued to increase, even though she was taking the medications prescribed by Portneuf. By noon she was in excruciating pain again and she wanted to go to the nearest hospital, which was in Lethbridge, AB, Canada.
Upon admission the doctor diagnosed her with an obstructed bowel that required immediate surgery. The surgery confirmed Lethbridge's diagnosis and the surgeon informed us that my wife's bowel was just about to rupture; if it had it could've been fatal. While it is possible that Portneuf's diagnosis was accurate, I find it highly unprobable, although I am not a doctor.
I am currently in the process of having a Canadian doctor review Portneuf's CT scan to see if Portneuf was negligent in their diagnosis. To top it off, Portneuf billed us US $7,831 for my wife's 3-4 hour stay in their hospital, most of which was spent waiting for the doctor's diagnosis. They charged us $169.51 for 3 empty syringes and $1588.32 to wait in a room with a bed; we could've waited for free in the lobby. If at all possible I'd avoid this hospital.

I waited for one hour to see the doctor(Brian W) "I think that his name " in emergency room and when he came for one minute and he's saw my knee swallowing the one which had surgery last couple months and my blood pressure was high and I have pain because I slipped on the ice and he said I can't do anything for you, and he said that the ER stands for people who's dying! He did not respect the patient or taking care!
