We LOVE the doctors and nurses- but several front of office staff has been really difficult post merger. They feel rushed and miss details (like if this is a well vs. sick visit) and could use some customer service training. We checked out today and I was told I would now be charged $100 for a sick visit- because I have a "high deductible plan" and this was the new policy.
I explained that I do not have a high deductible plan, I recently increased my insurance and that I thought that sounded very odd. I asked the staff member to check she came back and informed me I would be charged the fee because of the new policy. I asked they bill me because I thought that was wrong. My husband called back and was told the same thing- he then spoke directly with the billing department and was told that we did not owe a charge and they see we do not have a high deductible plan.
That was after our 4th request to review the policy and a call to the insurance company. We will keep coming because the Medical Staff are excellent and care for our daughter is most important. But I really hope there will be some improvements at the front because unfortunately that is where we interface the most. Please slow down and be intentional, be careful to be detail oriented. When you patients have a concern listen and come from curious- it will go a long way.

I have taken my children to Children's Clinic East for 20 years. It is a great practice with a great team if doctors, nurses, and office staff. Our original doctor moved a couple of years ago and my younger girls now see Dr. Willard. She is very thorough and caring. Dr. Kirshner, Dr. Lett, and Dr. Mehrotra, and Dr. Lavin are also great long time doctors who we have seen.
My teen daughter sees Dr. Lavin and she has been an excellent doctor for her. Today we saw Dr. Somer, and I was very pleased with the care my daughter got for her injury. I love this practice. There are many doctors here. If one doctor isnt quite your fit, there are many here to choose from. I am always able to easily get well and sick visits. They also have a great online appointment system that is easy to use. I am almost ALWAYS in and out within an hour of arrival.

If I could give them ZERO stars I would. I cringe when people say that this is a good clinic. We have given them multiple attempts and now have resorted to driving to hermitage for better care. I wouldn't even take my dog to this facility. It has to be the worst care I've ever experienced with any medical establishment. From the front desk to the back, they are rude and unprofessional.
On the last chance I gave them, they overlooked my concerns when I said my daughter was having trouble breathing with a cough. I scheduled a visit for that, only for them to diagnose her with an ear infection. Turns out she has RSV, which we found out from a Clinic! This place is absolute garbage. Proceed with caution, and always trust your gut!

We absolutely love Children's Clinic East. Our "home base" is the Lebanon location. Their new office is very nice, spacious and clean. We are always seen on time, even when we scheduled a day-of emergency visit. We see Dr. Orr and cannot say enough about his professionalism and care for our daughter. He is personable, genuine and makes you feel as if he truly cares for you child and concerns. We will never go anywhere else!

Great office! I've been to lots of pediatric offices over the years and this is definitely the best for us. We see Dr. Shepherd normally, and he's very knowledgeable and friendly. We have seen other doctors though on spur of the moment sick visits, and they too are great. The nurses there are very caring and considerate. They always put my large family in one of the large exam rooms to better accommodate us.
I love the online check in process and the electronic tablets for times when I don't do online check in - both make registration for visits very easy and fast. It's also very easy to get appointments here. Highly recommend!

We are still a fairly new family going to Children's Clinic East. We usually go to the Lebanon office, but an appt at this location worked out better, so we were there yesterday. We were there about 1.5 hours, but by far, the majority of that time was with the nurse or NP, who completed a physical. We probably only waited about 20 minutes today in the waiting room AND the exam room.
I am REALLY impressed with N.P. Amy Taylor and will be happy to have my kids see her in the future! The staff was wonderful, dealing with my daughter, who is NOT good with shots, especially LeAnne. After struggling with the office of a company who bought out our former doctor's office, I'm thrilled to have a new place to care for my kids!

We love CCE. We have never had a problem getting an appointment urgently, or getting through when we call the on-call number. My son has a habit of only getting sick on the weekends and while on vacation, and they are great with calling in whatever we need, and following up as needed by phone. Occasionally we have to wait a little in the office, but as a healthcare provider myself, I know this is normal.
It is never as long as some other reviewers made it seem. I have never felt dismissed by any of the physicians we saw. All of the staff have been great, from the front desk staff to the nurses and physicians.

Only choose this provider for your child if you have lots of free time or can take an entire day off for a routine doctor's appointment. My son has been a patient since we moved to TN several years ago, and I can't think of ONE appointment that took less than two hours. There have been times we waited HOURS in the lobby, then another hour in a tiny little exam room before seeing the doctor, and all for just a routine medication check up.
I understand things happen, doctors get behind and there are times that waiting is inevitable. But we aren't talking about 10-15 minutes, we're talking HOURS, and every single visit! My guess is that to make as much money possible, they "warehouse, " overbook and churn through patients and/or appointments; but what's not okay is that it's at my expense.
What's worse is that even after expressing concern about the wait time, not one person has ever uttered a single word of acknowledgment or seemed even a little apologetic. Certainly by now they've had enough complaints about the wait time to adjust their schedules accordingly. Since it continues to happen, clearly money and patient volume win. I can't imagine what would happen to my business if I gave the same consideration to my customers. Bottom line is that I have a job, my son has school and other activities, and our time is valuable. The folks at Children's Clinic East don't seem to agree.

This is an AWFUL place in every way! I had just moved to the area so this review is about an the first and last time I will ever come to this place. I would not recommend it to anyone. If I could rate it zero stars I would. I have a child with the genetic disease Cystic Fibrosis, and I always take precautionary measures as far as him getting sick (because for him, getting sick could mean irreversible damage, and with enough damage could mean a lung transplant, or even death), by asking for a separate room away from the waiting area, and I was spoken to with such disrespect when I asked.
The request is usually never an issue. It was never an issue period at my old pediatricians. The CEO and a few of the front desk staff were SO SO RUDE. They are insensitive, and you would think you were checking your children into a prison. It is a cold uptight environment. It is clearly visible that they just want you to get in, and out without too many questions.
Regardless if a child is sick or not. The individual I spoke with to check my children in, immediately said "What do you need" in a nasty voice the second I walked up to the window. A simple "Welcome, how can I help you would have been great". I was also interrogated in a very unprofessional way by the CEO here. The interrogation was a result of the front desk secretary and I getting into an altercation, because she did not care if my sick 3 year old with Cystic Fibrosis was accommodated or not.
As a mother who loves her child, I got a little upset and defensive, and rightfully so. There is no mother who love s her child that would not have gotten upset. However, I was not near as disrespectful to this woman as she was to me. The CEO basically told me, me coming to Children's Clinic East was not set in stone because of what happened. I did not so much as get an apology.
At the time my 7 year old was very sick, and the CEO clearly showed she did not give a care. We waited to see a doctor for almost 3 1/2 hours. The wait was all for nothing, because the doctor we seen was a total quack as well. He did not even know what psyllium was. (this is fiber) I have never been so APPALLED in my life. It sickens me that this place works with babies and children daily. My 7 year old is now terrified to go back to the doctor after this experience. Never again! I would not let anyone here touch my children with a ten foot pole!
