Our President and Medical Director is Lanre Somorin MD. He graduated medical school in 1991 from Univ of Lagos, Nigeria. He began treating Substance abusing patients in 1994 whilst in Stevenage, UK. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry as well as in Addiction Medicine. He has over 23 years experience in providing Behavioral health and Substance abuse treatment.
Tele-psychiatry connects patients and doctor or therapist through technology; it uses cameras at both ends over a secure internet connection. It is a convenient service that we now offer to our patients who are medically stable. While this service does not replace face to face visits, it can be used in between face to face visits or just to discuss test results in between visits.
Although psychological treatment is the foundation of the Exodus Health program, medication can play an important supportive role. Buprenorphine is one of those medications that has significantly improved our ability to help patients recover from addiction to pain medications and heroin. It greatly reduces or entirely eliminates withdrawal symptoms.
They say opportunity knocks, but this isn't always true. Sometimes opportunity whispers, and you must be listening to hear it. Sometimes opportunity hides behind walls we ourselves build, and we have to find ways around them. However opportunity presents itself, we notice it only if we're ready and waiting.
