Peninsula Eye Center offers comprehensive eye care, from routine eye exams, glasses and contact lens services to complete diagnostic, medical and surgical eye care. We offer patients a choice of seeing an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist when scheduling an appointment. Our Ophthalmologists are Board-Certified Physicians specializing in the latest medical, surgical and laser treatment of eye diseases. Our Board Certified Optometrist provides the specialty services needed for eyeglass and contact lens wearers.
Peninsula Cataract & Laser Center is Medicare approved and certified by The Joint Commission, which required extensive onsite surveys of our facility and services. Since the Surgery Center opened, we have performed over 40,000 cataract, glaucoma, retina and eyelid plastic surgery procedures. We want our patients to be able to go back to their normal activities as quickly as possible. Our team approach starts with our scheduling and business staff, who make the appointments and assist with insurance.
Upon receiving your eyeglass prescription from one of our Doctors, your Ophthalmologist or Optometrist from another office, you can visit the optical shop at our Salisbury and Berlin locations to have it filled. We have highly trained and Certified Opticians who can help guide you to the styles that best enhance your natural features.

My appointment was canceled TWICE then rescheduled yet again to only show up at my appointment and find out the doctor was OUT sick! I will never go back. Unprofessional!

I have been a patient here since I moved from Baltimore 5 years ago. Dr Metcalf and his staff are top notch- professional, friendly, and efficient. I highly recommend this practice for high quality eye care.

Please, select a different eye center. Constantly changing appointments. Surgery closes at 4pm.will send a message @ 5:30 pm.never mind the anxiety of surgery or your supervisor arranged time off work.more anxiety atop anxiety. Needle in your eye treatment? "It will itch a little for a couple of days" Oh. I forgot to tell you, pick up pain drops I called in.35 miles away. That one was changed too, round trip 2 days in a row 180+ miles. Didn't get the memo. Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

I have been trying for over 2 months to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. No one at this place will return emails, contacts through their online website, or phone calls. I have called and messaged MULTIPLE times and have yet to get any response. I spoke to another glasses provider about my issues and they said that they have to physically go there if they need information for referrals because they won't reply to any type of messaging. My insurance is limited and we need more than a basic glasses appointment for my child. I wish there was another option, because this place is a JOKE!

I had a very unhappy experience picking up my new glasses today. I wont use names but when I arrived there was a lady in the first chair taking an order from a senior citizen. In the second station was a male technician in an animate discussion with a patient concerning their cars. Their discussion began before I arrived and continued over 20 minutes and continued after I left.

Yes he could see that I and others were waiting but he did not stop talking about cars. As I was leaving he got up to make a copy and passed me. I told him as he walked by that he was very rude he made no reply. Service this bad shouldn't go unrewarded. Everyone else I have come in contact with has been superb. I hate to give a bad review but feel I have no choice

Dr. Ospital performed my cataract surgery in both eyes. He was absolutely awesome! I was a basket case about anyone doing anything to my eyes. He was so calming and understanding during both procedures. The nursing staff were very attentive to my anxiety as well. Overall everyone was great! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Pennisula Eye Center and Dr. Ospital. They gave me my sight back without glasses.

This is my second time taking my mother for an eye appointment. We had the first appointment at 7:30 this morning and it is now almost 9am and we are still waiting. We purposely booked the first appointment after our last experience - to minimize wait time. FYI -her first appointment was several weeks ago and the wait time was also over 1.5 hours. This is totally unacceptable. Unfortunately no one seemed to care when I asked questions about this.

Had my yearly checkup with Dr. Darcy today. This was my second visit to this practice. I was very pleased with the experience. There was a little wait, but no more than I've had at any other doctor appointment. Dr. Darcy is somewhat quiet but definitely professional and knowledgeable. He makes you feel comfortable and always asks if you have any questions.

The best part of the visit was Melinda, who did the majority of my eye exam. She was personable and calming, and explained what she was doing during each step in the exam. Like others, I'm sure, my least favorite part of the exam is the eye pressure test. Melinda was so patient and eased my apprehension. And she was so good at what she does that that part of the exam was no big deal.

I ended up getting new glasses there, too, not so much because my prescription had changed substantially but because the glasses I had (which were purchased somewhere else) were badly scratched. They are putting new lenses in my old frames. And I feel the price is very reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience. I am happy to recommend this practice

Very pleasant experience. I had a very negative experience with Azar in salisbury. I left their office and called this one and was given a same day appointment for my emergency even though I was a new patient. Everyone from the greeter, the ladies at check-in, the techs, and the doctor were all very nice, professional, and accommodating. I did have a wait time but I didn't think it was unreasonable at all and the staff and care was worth it anyway.

I don't mind waiting for good care, I work in the field and understand the employees can't do much about the doctors taking however long they need with each patient which can sometimes but the office behind, it's expected. I appreciate the care I received here and will be referring others here as well!

I actually had a great experience with Peninsula Eye Center. I had a frightening problem that cropped up with my right eye, my co worker referred them to me, and they took my insurance. Every single person that I was handled by was extremely nice and caring. The doctor seemed very knowledgeable and actually took his time trying to figure out what was wrong ruling out one thing after another until they got answers.

Two weeks later I am well and feel back to normal. I have scheduled my yearly exam with them this November and will continue to go to their office. Did I mention that even though I wasn't a patient they took me in that same day because of my issue?

I cannot speak to the quality of care here. I had a morning appointment, showed up 10 minutes prior, checked in and then took a seat in the waiting area. Thirty minutes later, I went to the desk to inquire about the delay and was told "this is how it is in doctor's offices." I do not recall an apology and was told I am next. Another 30 minutes went by and informed the desk I was leaving.

I would encourage others who make appointments to budget their time accordingly. I strongly encourage this office to review their scheduling procedures, delay mitigation and guest services. Further, I disagree with the notion that I should accept my time being wasted and disrespected because I am at a medical office.

While their doctors are good, their optical department is downright rude. We originally received bifocals which did not work well. We were pressured to keep them and we insisted on getting reading glasses as the previous glasses were still fairly good for distance. So, we waited about another two weeks and when we went down to pick up the reading glasses, they made us distance glasses.

The original person who worked with us insisted that we said we wanted distance glasses with a bad attitude just short to accusing us of being liars. We asked for a refund (which the other person in the optical department did on the spot) and we went to Sears and got a much better deal. We will go back for eye exams but we will go elsewhere for frames and lenses.
